This is when Paula Jo's lack of empathy became apparent. We found her unresponsive and very unwilling to help. Unfortunately we were lead to believe if any errors ever occurred with the tax returns she did for us that she would be responsible for any interest and/or penalties that might accrue. Not so. We were on our own. Paula Jo not only kept the money paid for preparing our faulty 2018 tax return, she also refused to pay the IRS interest and penalties accrued. Beware: Check your preparer's qualifications: Look for a preparer who is a certified public accountant, an enrolled agent, or even an attorney. He told me to send $70 check to IRS for mom's federal owed. I did and then noticed they took it out of my bank account. So, I paid them too much. Next year, my cousin will do it. Ramos Tax Service came highly recommended by my husband's co-worker, and I'm so glad we decided to…read moregive them a try. For the past ten years, I've dreaded tax season because we're in a higher tax bracket. We used to go to another accounting agency, but over time we noticed they weren't really taking the time to thoroughly go over everything with us, and their fees kept increasing. Enter Ramos Tax Service. Although they do not take scheduled appointments, the process was still very easy. They have parking available, and once we checked in, I believe our wait was only about 20 to 30 minutes, which honestly was not bad at all. They even had snacks available while we waited. Once we were called, Noemi was incredibly friendly and helpful. Even though we ended up owing taxes, she took the time to carefully review everything with us, which definitely eased some of the sting. She also gave us very helpful suggestions for next year to help minimize what we may owe. And their fees? Very reasonable. Do I recommend Ramos Tax Service? Absolutely.

Luckily they accept walk ins. I signed in about 1040am and got called around 130pm. Mrs. Ramos was quick and kind. Seems like when I got to her all of my information was inputted into her computer. Might've been her assistant that sat next to her helped her input all the info's, to speed up the process. I sat with Mrs. Ramos for about 10 minutes and I was done. The outcome of my tax return was not the outcome I wanted but oh well. It is what it is. I feel no matter what, taxes is always owed on my part. They charged $150 for service which I think is fair, based on what others are charging to do taxes now days. If you do decide to come here, expect to wait. They do have a lot of clients and new clients as well, based on my observation while I sat and waited. The waiting area is clean and comfortable. They provide snacks to purchase, cost is about a dollar each. Parking can be a little difficult, as they have about 6-8 stalls in front of their office. I believe you could also park on the street and walk over. Location is right across the street from Honowai elementary. Not sure if I'll return next year, but I'm glad I gave them a chance and I'm glad they took me in as a walk in because I needed to get my taxes done ASAP.
