Please do not even remotely consider Florida neurologic center as a viable option for you and your health. The entire operation is unprofessional, demeaning and not in the least bit thorough in their approach to medicine. In my 77 years on this earth, I have never experienced such a lack of enthusiasm, knowledge, and demeanor in their approach to medicine. If you can imagine, not even being examined, nor asked to relay the issues that brought you to the practice in the first place. My advice is that he should retire and allow for a young, concerned and dedicated doctor to provide health services according to the Hippocratic oath. read more

saw Dr Morariu 20 years ago for multiple herniated discs. He is old school and has the knowledge and equipment to help me. i was pain free for over 20 years. now with arthritis setting in and more disc involve. I went back to see him a few months ago. my report was grim and he gave options. two of the options were not an option in my mind and he told me it is only a 50/50 chance the treatments will work. I took that option and my pain is gone but will need to limit my activities. I am comfortable with that. sadly Dr Morariu passed away last Friday. I will greatly miss him. as I don't know of any doctors with those equipment and experience to help me. read more

Then as I was leaving I asked for my MRI script as I wanted to make my own appointment. He came out and said "fine! go wherever you want. If I don't like the picture you are done as my patient!" Amazing doctor and staff. They gave the best care and are very professional. You save time and money because they are equipped with sofisticated equipment so you can do most of the tests right in their office. Doctor Morariu is very experienced and he does exactly what a doctor supposed to do, he will investigate to find what problems you have and then he prescribes the treatment. It is exactly what I hoped to find after being in tremendous frustration being doped with medication from other doctors I 've seen and they just guessed what I may have . Dr. Morariu takes his time and identify the issues and then treat. That how supposed to be ! Thank you Dr. Morariu, I trust you and I am blessed to be under your care. God bless you ! read more

I had an experience with Dr. Morariu, Sr. that was very similar to that which Donna reported. Dr. Morariu explained the results of neurological testing in a way that seemed calculated to frighten. I felt at the time that he was manipulating me so that I would become a regular patient. I never went back. I did receive a copy of my records and one was sent to my physician. I later learned that the results were normal for a person of my age. I have some suspicions about the discrepancy between his verbal report and what he put in writing (that other physicians would see.) I also overheard him berate a female staff person in a manner that was particularly nasty and demeaning. It left a very bad taste. I wonder how many other people have had similar experiences over the years. I would not even give this practice one star. read more

I was misdiagnosed with a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease and placed on medications. As I became more anxious and stressed because of this diagnosis I began to experience seizure-like tremors affecting my entire body. I went for a second opinion. This MD sent me for tests to determine whether I had Parkinson's. All tests were normal. Turned out that the tremors were being caused by anxiety, stress and unnecessary medication. There is nothing wrong with my brain. I am 83 years old and could have lived my entire life thinking I had Parkinson's disease and using the wrong medication which has filled my life with Dopamine which I don't need. read more

The worst of the worst! In my opinion, based on my experience, which I hope you will read, these doctors are incompetent to the point of being dangerous, have an ungrounded grandiose sense of their self importance, and are rude to the point of disbelief. This is a father son practice, which appealed to me. I thought this is great, the father has decades of experience and the son's education and relative youth would be a winning combination. Boy was I wrong! What you really have is a father who should not be practicing any longer and a son who looks the other way at the expense of the patients. Here is what happened to me. I went there because a different doctor said I had to switch my seizure medicine because it was interfering with other medicine I had to take. I made the appointment very specifically with the son as I liked his education. We met, although not at the appointed time, and he said I needed an EEG and an MRI of the brain. I had the EEG done in the office and went elsewhere for the MRI. I made a follow up appointment with the son to discus the results. No one called to tell me he was not going to be at this appointment, they just put me in a room with his father. This is what Daddy Doctor told me. He said when you have a seizure your brain cells die and that I have had so many seizures my brain had dramatically shrunk! You can imagine how I reacted to that news. My boyfriend, who was with me at this appointment and I were both horrified! After a few days I decided to make another appointment, making sure it was only with the son. I obviously had a lot of questions and wanted another opinion about my prognosis, which Daddy Doctor painted as quite dire. I was waiting quite a long time for the doctor so I asked the nurse/office worker to bring me the reports so I could have a better informed discussion with the doctor. I read the MRI report which very specifically said the size of my brain was NORMAL for my age! When the doctor came into the room I waved the MRI report in the air and said your father told me my brain had dramatically shrunk and would continue to shrink due to my brain cells dying from all the seizures I was having, that isn't true, is it?! He said no it was not true. No explanation or apology was offered. Of course I was relieved, but I was angry too. For a couple of weeks I was in a panic about my impending doom for no reason whatsoever. Here is what I would I would like to know 1) why on earth would the elder Doctor have made up such a story? I am not a doctor but could easily read and understand the MRI report. Does he need to see a neurologist? Is he a sadist? 2)how could the son continue to let his father see patients? Doesn't he have an ethical obligation to protect his patients from being given made up dire diagnoses? But wait, the story isn't over yet! I obviously needed to go to a different neurologist so I called the office and asked if I could come pick up the MRI disk, MRI report and EEG that day. The man that answered the phone said sure. I asked what time they closed and he said 5. I said great I will come over this afternoon and he said fine. I got there at 2:20, went to the front desk and told him who I was and what I was there to pick up. I stood at the desk waiting for about ten minutes when I was asked to take a seat. I waited about another 20 minutes and went back to the front desk to see what was the delay. I was told my file was in the doctor's office and that he was doing dictation and could not be disturbed. I asked if the doctor knew that I had been there waiting since 2:20 and he said yes he knew I was here waiting. I said I did not understand why on earth he could not just enter the room and quietly get my file, A file that I had called ahead to request. I was given my MRI disk and report and the EEG report at 4:36, but I was NOT given the EEG read out. I was told the only way another doctor could see the EEG was if they came to their office and used their computer! Really, in 2018!? Here is what I think. Either the doctor thinks his time is waaaaay more valuable than anyone else or they just wanted to punish me for leaving the practice. Either option is not acceptable or normal. I absolutely do NOT believe you can't get a paper or electronic copy of the EEG. I guess I will have to have it done again. Based on their incompetence perhaps that isn't a bad thing. read more

Absolutely horrible. The father is so rude he just needs to go away. The son is nice enough but only reads your MRIs and what pertains to him not the whole report. Had to get a second opinion because even I saw some odd things on my neck, cervical and lumber MRIs. Not noted on morarui's report was the fact that I have numerous (8) compression fractures on back and neck bones and 1 actual broken bone. WTF..dont you think I should be informed that my back bones are falling apart. Then recommended traction on neck. Told him been there , done that it's a temporary fix and has to be redone on a regular basis and it doesnt work. I need surgery I get it. I had a stroke and tons of nerve damage from multiple herniated disks. I'm barely functioning and am fighting for disability. I asked him to please fill out my attorney paper work for my disability trial he wont do it even knowing my brain issues, nerve and bone issues. I was very pleased with Dr.Morariu and his entire staff. The doctor is charming, old school and knows his field. We discussed all the findings of the tests and possible medication, etc. Everyone, the nurse, Adella, Tudor, office staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and professional with regard to my exam, tests, appointments, and getting records from other doctors. They all did a thorough and conscientious job of helping me and eliminating stress. MRI is right across the street and they take appointments promptly at all hours.
