After trying their chocolate at the American Dream Mall location, and spending a small fortune, I braved the Manhattan traffic and visited the Lexington Ave loc. I was blown away and bought loads more. I event dropped $62 on an advent calendar for my kiddo. They have different sizes but of course she wanted the largest one. This was a tasting visit more than a purchase visit as I didn't buy anything . What we tasted was divine . Chocolate can't go wrong but if it's fine Swiss chocolate that's elevated with nuts , dried rose pistachio cream and the likes it takes on a delectable form . Silky or shud I say velvety richness of the chocolate, nuttiness from the hazelnuts that interludes with the chocolatey goodness makes every bite irresistible. It's a bit pricey that makes you want to think , but once you sink your teeth into another chocolatey bite , it makes your heart melt and pushes you to buy and take home the treat for a relaxed indulgence. I bought a little small treat/snack for a family member -some little mini sq choc bars. We placed them in their mini clear bag-we didn't notice any pricing listed. We walked to the counter to pay and realized after I put my card in their payment system and went through we were BOTH shocked at this very tiny amount of $ of this very expensive chocolate purchase. $21 for a few mini sq bars? I/ we have been in sooooo many choc stores in the US and abroad and were so surprised by how much this company's chocolate is in NYC. We asked about the pricing afterwards and asked did they weighed the small few mini bars of chocolate on the counter ( perhaps a scale) or something ( idk looked like a basic reg counter to us) When I went back to look at the receipt it said final sale. This was our second time getting chocolate from this location (the chocolate went so quickly last time, there was barely a chance to get pictures); suffice it to say, they have some fantastic product here, with a great assortment of different artisan chocolates and truffles. Of the options they have available, we picked out some possible favorites: Florentiner--chocolate layered with caramelized almond Florentine, Mixed Fruit White Chocolate--white chocolate embedded with pistachios, almonds and caramelized orange, Hazelnut milk, and their limited edition Pumpkin Spice Milk-Blond--with spices and caramel mixed with caramelized almond-embedded milk chocolate. Last time, we were lucky enough to be able to get their limited edition Dubai milk; this time around, we additionally got a small assortment of pralines and truffles to go with them. Out of the set, the standouts were the hazelnut milk and the pumpkin spice. The former was akin to a smooth Ferrero Rocher bar, perfected with the flavor of higher quality chocolate. The latter was a bit surprising, considering pumpkin spice is usually a middling flavor to me in other products; however, the execution is tastefully done, with the extra spice adding beautifully to the flavor without detracting from the delicateness of the base chocolate's smoothness. I stopped by laderach Switzerland on Lexington Ave in midtown to grab a few boxes of assorted truffles chocolates ,one is a gift and one is not both the agreement is the cost and I ain't cheap folks .The assortment and different types of chocolate is plenty and I did sample a piece of white chocolate and must be honest , it's good and worth it . From individual pieces, gift boxes , gift bags or just in a regular bag you have much to choose from plain to fancy and if you can't decide then get the assorted options so you can try little bit of each . I can't thank the people who work here enough for accommodating me . I've been craving for this chocolate but love in the uws and hence this is a hike from my apt . I barely made it and got there at 8pm which is their closing time . I got my hands on my favorite , the hazelnut along with the white chocolate and two other options . They're all delicious!! European chocolates is so much better . It's not cheap but definitely worth every penny . When you walk into the store , you're welcomed by a piece of chocolate to sample . Dear Läderach Customer Service, I am writing to share a disappointing experience I had at your Fashion Valley store in San Diego. I purchased approximately $90 worth of chocolate (two boxes) and requested two small bags. Shortly after, I asked for a larger bag so I could place everything in one bag while continuing my shopping at the mall. The associate who assisted me, Mariana, was extremely rude. When I asked for the larger bag, she gave me a look as though I was asking for something unreasonable. Later, when I returned to clarify that I only wanted a larger bag for convenience, her response was, "You came back to fight." There was no apology, only rudeness. This experience was very disappointing, especially considering the premium nature of Läderach products. Everything! And I mean EVERYTHING in this store is absolutely scrumptious!! It is well displayed and looks almost pretty as the chocolates. The service was wonderful and they are happy to answer any questions. I didn't look for a restroom, but I would think they don't have one since it isn't an eat-in kind of place, but would t that be FUN! A chocolate drink, then a small app of a single piece of chocolate bark, then a mix of all the different kinds of chocolate offerings, such as truffles, real fruit bark with white or dark - a whole plate of chocolate. Then, dessert, of course! My dream lunch!! Maybe if they read this they'll expand! Woohoo! Well it's apparent that no one at Laderach reads these comments. My experiences mirror Nicole and Gerald's below. Chocolate is wonderful, online service is beyond abysmal. I ordered before Xmas, paid extra for two day Fedex service and no shipping notification. Emailed Monday and no response. Nothing for Xmas. Emailed yesterday and still no response. Called today and message said press 1 for customer service. Pressed one, phone rang and then dead silence. Hey, at least leave a message if you're closed. Totally unacceptable and you are about to lose a loyal customer. And sale as am calling my bank and canceling my order. Shame on you Laderach! read more

It is however the only well known one nearby with an actual store unless we visit the farmers market for small batch chocolate or go to a gourmet grocery store with common brands like Godiva, etc. The chocolate is smooth. Notable are their chocolate barks! The selection is eye candy literally through a glass barrier at the front so you can drool ; sits at the-front window to lure you in. Dark chocolate lovers from the Silicon Valley who seek endorphins during the economic crazies love frequenting this chocolatier. I've seen famous CEO's in baseball caps,head down trying to get a quick fix "in and out without being recognized " ... at this location. read more

Great small store full of delicious variety of chocolates, I went for Valentine's Day and since the check out line was taking longer than usual the manager offered free samples for all of us who were waiting to pay. It was a very nice gesture. Overall a great experience shopping even thought some products don't have the prices and you will need to ask someone to give it to you. I asked for a paper tissue in my bag as it was a gift and they gave it to me, the quality of the chocolate was great. I got a special white chocolate and strawberry valentines bear $15 and a pack of popcorn covered in milk chocolate for $13 prices vary from $11 to $300 for sets, there are single bars assorted flavors for $7 and you can also make your own truffle boxes and it goes by weight. Definitely not on the cheap side, but not impossible. I highly recommend trying their products but bear in mind that this location doesn't have a seating area, however I don't think it was necessary, we enjoyed the chocolates at home. read more

I ordered 60+ chocolate gifts on their corporate website a MONTH ago in November requesting that all delivery dates be between Dec 12-18th (before Christmas). The sales rep Aaron Chavez decided to drag his feet on the order and make countless mistakes to the point that the most ordered item on my order was sold out. I had to scramble to get another item in and even had to INPUT my own order on the excel sheets that they use. I corrected SKU#'s, spelling errors, prices, etc... which I find so odd as a customer to be doing. However, I did it in hopes to push the order through. I clearly communicated that I was not happy and that for the price I'm paying... this was beyond unprofessional and sincerely tacky. We finally get the order in and all Aaron tells me is that he "sincerely apologizes" for any mistakes and that he will be on it to push the order through in a timely manner. He sends me an invoice, I pay and then ZERO updates. I follow up 4 times after payment to see if the orders shipped and if I can receive the tracking information. Silence. I call corporate 800 number as well as email them. I get a response from Virgil and he assures me that the order has shipped on 12/18 and as soon as he gets the tracking information he will forward it to me. I express my disappointment on the lag of shipping knowing that it most likely will be late and not delivered before Christmas. I escalate the matter and get introduced to Angela Gables, whom calls and tells me the same thing that orders have shipped and tracking information will be sent. Today is the day after Christmas 12/26/2024 and I still have not received any tracking information, have not received any of my order, and have not received any responses/follow up from any of the above individuals. I have called over 10+ times with the number just cutting off (no option to leave voicemail) and countless emails to all 3 individuals with detailed description on why I'm upset. I feel frustrated and scammed... don't trust Laderach with any holiday gifts! read more

Review of mail order service... Discovered Laderach during our trip to Switzerland last year and thought to order some as an anniversary gift this year. Hey, I hear that I'm now in the running for the Partner of the Year award! :) I live in Hawaii and I'm used to vendors either offering unnecessarily awful shipping times, gauging us with unfair delivery costs, or adding extra fees for nothing. Laderach did none of these. In fact,, the overall prices were actually really decent -- especially considering that you're ordering from one of the world's most expensive cities! I ordered quite a few items, maybe 8-10 things chosen from their full online catalog. Shipping took a while but it worked out for the best as I'd ordered about 3-4 weeks before I needed the chocolate gift. The things got to me in about 2 weeks, though were somehow only on the "road" for about 3 days. I have no idea how they got the things so quickly to me in Honolulu. I was shocked that the box that was delivered to me did not come from the NY branch but actually came from Switzerland. It flew over 7500 miles to reach me and was still in perfect shape! The box felt heavy when i picked it up and I discovered that the chocolates were packed with 5-6 frozen gel packs which were still cool when the box finally reached me. The chocolates were meticulously wrapped in Laderach tissue individually and arranged in the box very smartly with air cushion packs. There was zero breakage and the bags and gift boxes looked as good as if you'd chosen them in the store and just carried them home. I ordered some small bags of dipped orange rind, mini solid chocolates in milk and dark, freidschoggi (sp) slabs with nuts and fruits, some bonbons, and the 5-country sampler of chocolate "cards." It was all packed beautifully, impossibly delicious, and a fun conversation piece. Until I'm in Zurich, I will order from them again! Tasty {pricey} chocolate available for those strolling through Manhattan! Full transparency, I know nothing about Laderach, never heard of them before, but I just happened to be walking by this store while on my way to a subway station, heading to dinner. They had a beautiful "display" with sheets of chocolates that i could see from outside the store; I was tempted so I went in to take a look. They offer chocolate by the pound. You can literally pick small pieces of multiple kinds or bigger ones of something you know you like. I thought it was kind of neat how they break off pieces and bag chocolates .. Or they have pre-bagged chocolate too. I looked through their options and decided to get a piece of regular milk chocolate with cornflakes & a piece of white chocolate with mixed fruits. Although a bit misleading because the mixed fruit actually had more almonds & pistachios and very little candied orange, it was delicious! Just know if you're wanting to try a chocolate before purchasing, they will give you a sample. They won't offer (or at least they didn't when I went in). Whenever I'm back in the city, I'll stop by again to get some of the chocolate again. read more

This chocolate is good. There are barks as well as individual truffles. They also have vegan options. The chocolate is a tad on the sweeter side. It's delicious and I can taste the quality in the not so sweet truffles with praline, many nuts, as well as some liquor varieties which I haven't tried. I highly recommend this place for gifts as well as personal consumption. It is my neighborhood go to for Shabbat. The supervision is currently conservative, not orthodox. read more

So I discovered these fine fine boutique chocolates in the little town of Vevey, Switzerland and found out that they were considered the premier chocolatier of the country. A most well-deserved honor - and I was so happy to see that Laderach has expanded their footprint by opening a new store in NYC last fall! Much as I enjoy visiting Switzerland, this will make it much easier to obtain these terrific chocolates and share them with family and friends. If you're in New York, it's worth the visit and partake of these pricey-but-(I'm)-worth-it delights! Happier still, the quality seems to be as good as what I had overseas - I'm told the NY store gets these chocolates flown over from Switzerland regularly. Visited when this store just opened in October. Already lines of expensively clad customers spending big bucks on an expensive treat. This is the place that I aspire to shop at when I'm rich and successful :D All the boxed chocolate sets are luxuriously wrapped and make a great gift. Ask to sample the freshly poured chocolate blocks! All their flavors are superb, so it'll be difficult to choose, but at least you'll eat some quality chocolate in the process. It's pricey ($47 per lb), but oh so worth the splurge for special occasions. The chocolate is very rich, buttery, silky, and smooth. You can taste the extra buttery & smooth texture that is incomparable to factory produced chocolate. We got three "blocks" to savor. The white chocolate with pistachios & caramelized orange, milk chocolate with caramelized hazelnuts, and black chocolate with caramelized hazelnuts, pistachios, & almonds. I am a milk chocolate lover but I have to say that the black chocolate was a definite win for me. White and milk chocolate were too sweet and while delicious, the black chocolate actually had that cocoa bean after taste that is so rich and unique, signifying that you're actually consuming chocolate and not a sweet confection called chocolate. Definitely try the dark chocolate one. Also, this is me being picky, but white and milk chocolate had too much nuts in them. I love delicious fillings, but I felt that that's how the shop makes money--add more heavy nuts and pour less chocolate. So customers are paying for the hefty weight of the relatively inexpensive nuts, berries, and candy and not for the quality chocolate. Located on the corner of East 59th and Lexington Ave. One thing everyone knows about the upper East side is that this part of NYC houses some of the most Hoity-toity, High Siditty, Snobbish, Overly Pretentious, Arrogant, Uppity, Bourgeois people ever. A lot of those types of people will frequent this establishment. You'll be able to identify those types of people by their energy and vibes but just ignore them. ( they hate being ignored) lol I give this place a decent 4 stars for the quality of the chocolate, and nothing more. The chocolate is made to perfection. It's creamy and sweet and melts in your mouth. It can easily differentiated from that Hersheys nonsense that we give to kids. I call this "adult chocolate", because it's something to truly appreciate, when it comes to quality. They have an assortment of chocolates infused with alcohol, chocolate mix with fruits and nuts, champagne chocolate, many different varieties. Be prepared to spend at least $15 on one bag alone. Do your research before you come in here, it's an In-N-Out kind of thing for me. The workers look miserable almost as if they are not allowed to speak to the customers unless the customer speak to them. I almost wanted to tell the girl behind the counter, "hey sis, if you're being held here Against your own will, blink 3 times." Aside from that, the chocolate is good. I was walking down the block when I spotted a man with a huge bag of chocolate Santa's, and I was on the look out for this store as we walked down the block. A few stores down, I spotted the chocolate store and I had to go in! The prices are reasonable and the service is amazing. My brother and I wanted to sample some of the chocolate bark they had, and we ended up buying some because it was sooo good! The chocolate bark with corn flakes was a really good combo, you can't go wrong. The chocolate is silky smooth and not overly sweet, which is nice. We also ended up getting the coconut bark and it was delicious! The coconuts flakes were crisp and it didn't have an artificial taste, which really sold me. I ate the chocolate before I could take any pictures sadly, but stop by if you're around the area or craving chocolate , because this place is amazing ! read more
