I have been trying different nail techs so I can find one I love and can stick with and I tried a tech I've never had before. When she first started, she immediately grabbed the clippers and I told her I don't want my cuticles or my nails cut, just pushed back and filed. I was on the phone (which is my own fault), when she was responding and saying she wanted to even them out. I told her I just wanted them filed and I don't mind if they're not the same length. They're close enough. She still was saying they should be cut and was saying "what about these? Just a little to even out and then file?"And pointing to my different fingers, to which I just ultimately said "okay whatever you say I guess, I trust you". Which was entirely my mistake. I should have stood my ground but I didn't want to be difficult or make a scene. She cut all of my nails SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than I was expecting to "even them out". For reference, I have been working on growing my nails out for the past 8 weeks so I could have long nails for Thanksgiving and decided last minute to treat myself to a manicure because to try to avoid biting my nails due to stress. It only got worse. After she had already cut them, much lower than I was okay with, she then filed them into square after I told her to keep the natural shape and that I didn't want them to be shaped in square or round. I just wanted her to follow the natural line of my nails and even out the length. Even then, she made them square and when I asked her to round just the edges because they were way too square and sharp and she made every nail round. She filed so much and so low that my nails are now nubs almost as short as when I bite them. Despite trying not to, I immediately started crying because I could feel the physical discomfort of my nails being shorter than my fingertips for the first time in a long time and she continued on. I don't like to cause scenes, and there was nothing that could be done at that point so it would be pointless to complain so I sat there silently as she continued the manicure. I am so heartbroken, I've been upset ever since I left the nail salon today. Unfortunately nothing can be done and while she did a good job on the actual painting of the nails, she took away months of effort I have made to finally grow my nails out, after I told her what I wanted. While I realize I should have stood my ground, she should have respected what I was asking of her. I also will commend her for fixing one of my nails swiftly and with kindness. However, this experience upset me to the point where I am considering not returning to this salon. I have had my nails done and disliked them before (happens to everyone, nbd) but if someone has long nails and they're telling you not cut them, why are you continuing to push to cut them shorter and then filing so short that there's pain and discomfort? I hope this experience never happens to anyone else who is working as hard as I was to break that habit.

Unfortunately, after what I experienced today, I will NEVER be returning. Over the years, I've noticed how the owner speaks to his employees -- often condescendingly -- and I've seen several great technicians leave. Today crossed a line I can't ignore. After my manicure and pedicure, I tipped both technicians directly through the envelopes the owner handed me. A few minutes later, one of the girls quietly came up to ask if I had tipped her a certain amount -- turns out, the owner switched the cash tips I gave them, which is considered tip theft and is ILLEGAL in PA. When I asked why, he told me he changed them based on "percentages," as if he had the right to decide how my money should be divided. I told him that's completely inappropriate -- it's the customer's choice, not his. Instead of apologizing, he told one technician to hand a dollar to the other to "make it even," completely missing the point. When I calmly said this behavior was dishonest and unfair, he took one of the girls to the back and shut the door -- I spoke up because I didn't want her being scolded for his actions. I waited over 15 minutes to speak with him, and when I finally got the chance, he literally shut the door in my face. I left in tears -- not just because of how I was treated, but because of how poorly this man treats his employees. The staff deserves so much better. It's a shame to see such good people work under someone who behaves like this. If you care about integrity, respect, and basic decency for other humans, take your business & hard earned money elsewhere.

When I told her I ensured the nail tech multiple times that I was getting a refill throughout my service, she told me the price I was charged was correct and the online listed priced was wrong. The nail techs do a great job but this is the second time Jenny, who I'm assuming is the owner, has ripped me off. I will not be back.
