We've now been at Refinery Preschool for 3 years and we are still very happy with the staff, facilities, and fun learning our kids have been able to enjoy. Thankful for this school.

Refinery Preschool is amazing! The teachers and staff are wonderful, nurturing and caring. They helped my daughter get confident in potty training, which was a huge blessing. She now wakes up during nap to pee and knows how to use the bathroom by herself. My son and daughter both love all their teachers. The classrooms are beautifully decorated, fun outdoor play sets and amazing curriculum. The activities are engaging and family events were always so perfectly detailed. I definitely recommend Refinery Preschool if you're looking for a loving environment for your children.

We needed before and after school care. One of the school nurses recommended CCs. She had observed kids there before and said that she was impressed with how well the teachers worked with some SPED children that were there. When we contacted Michelle, the director, she was very kind in helping us set up a place for our child to be at. Our child was there for three years. CCs is a small, private school/daycare. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, and while younger kiddos can be a ruckus in general...it never felt chaotic or overstimulating. I think it's because all the teachers have the same clear expectations across the board for all their students. They are organized. There's consistency and routine which is important for kids, even more so for a SPED child. CCs also provided a safe place where our child could get behavioral therapy. His aides always commented that the teachers are kind, understanding, consistent with expectations and always willing to work with them. Additionally, many of the teachers there have a background in early education studies. It felt like they were early educators, as opposed to just daycare workers. Communication was also very easy. Michelle is always willing to work with you. Whenever we picked up our child, he was always happy. We could tell that they truly cared about him and for that we are thankful. We were fortunate to have found them when we did.

I have a 4-year-old who is highly energetic and requires extra attention at times. I had a terrible experience with her first daycare (North Fullerton KinderCare) and had to pull her out after experiencing retaliation for reporting a teacher for abuse. I am the sole provider for my family so unfortunately staying home is not an option for me. I visited a couple of different daycares, explained my situation, asked a million questions and ultimately ended up deciding on CC's. My daughter adjusted to the change right away. The teachers were all nice, fun, and patient with her. My daughter doesn't respond well to grouchy teachers or to yelling, she tends to rebel more. Their approach for correcting her behavior worked because they paid attention to the little things that motivated her and their approach was not aggressive but rather compassionate. Michelle is resourceful and willing to help with information and resources, and she is very involved in the day to day. The communication and their way of handling every situation and behavior made all the difference. I knew my daughter was in good hands and because of that I had the peace of mind that I needed to be able to concentrate on work without the added stress that I was experiencing before. CC's was the best decision I ever made. She is now attending public school but I will definitely be taking her back for the summer.

We had a rough first experience with another care center when we first moved here, so we. moved her to Little Scholars after a few months at the other center. This child care center has been almost a family to us in the last 3 years when my daughter went there - every single teacher she's had, she has fond memories of (especially Ms. Toni, Ms. Sara, Ms. Rosa!). All the directors are amazing - and my daughter looks forward to going to "school" every single day! They have an amazing summer program in which they coordinate water slides, reptile visits, and other excursions. They organize egg hunts, make Mothers Day/Fathers Day crafts, have a fun Christmas performance, create memorable send-off promotion ceremony - I truly cannot believe all these teachers do to make the year so memorable. The facility is clean, bright and airy - they have a great indoor "play area" when it's cold/rainy outside. The curriculum for Pre-K is pretty spot on - my daughter was ready to enter Kinder and was definitely ahead of the pack when joining. I also really love the every day photos and Brightwheel updates they make on what she's eating, videos, photos, fun daily moments. I simply cannot say enough good things about this center! I would highly recommend!

I am sharing my experience with Little Scholars Child Care Learning Center as both a parent of…read morethree children who attended and a former employee. My concerns come from multiple incidents, not one disagreement. If you have any questions reach out to me for proof and evidence that this school IS NOT a good school. Neglect and medical concerns: My son Ezekiel went approximately five hours without a diaper change and afterward had bleeding on his penis. I sought medical attention and have a doctor's note documenting his condition. No parent should have to worry about their child's basic hygiene being neglected. Injury and lack of communication: My son Josiah recently bumped his head at daycare. Director Taryn knew about the incident but failed to communicate it to the other directors and teachers. I repeatedly asked for someone to check his head and confirm he was okay. Approximately seven teachers came in and out, yet nobody checked his head as I requested, and my Brightwheel messages went unanswered. I was also told that notifying me about his injury was a "courtesy." By director Alyssa I find that unacceptable. Teacher threatening physical confrontation: During a cold water day, I requested that my son Josiah, who had a cough, not participate outside. Toddler teacher Britney cursed at me and confronted me when I was speaking to HER boss. She had her hair up and fist up saying "let's fight". It took ONE owner and TWO directors to physically separate her from me while the MAIN owner Debbie walked away. This was not simply an argument. Three weeks earlier, my husband had witnessed the same teacher cursing out another teacher during drop-off. After the confrontation with me, I was told Britney was spoken to, but I was not informed of further disciplinary action. SHOCKER she is still there. Unprofessional conduct and confidentiality: I have witnessed or learned of staff cursing around children, (mainly in the Todd room) speaking negatively to children about their own parents, and sharing other families' private issues with parents. When staff become upset with parents, I have also experienced Brightwheel messages going unanswered and pictures and updates stopping. Parents should never have to worry that disagreements will affect communication about their children. Another uncomfortable incident involved my oldest son, who was approximately four years old when the owner's son told him to call him "Papa Sean" instead of "Coach Sean." Serious OCDE attendance concerns: I have Brightwheel messages from May 2025 in which Little Scholars advised me not to inform my childcare caseworker about a change from full-time to part-time attendance. When I asked whether they would still record full-time attendance, the daycare account responded, "Yes I would go that route!" and explained that nothing would change on their end. Even more concerning, my son (JJ) and I were living in TEXAS during months when I believe Little Scholars was reporting him as attending daycare in California. We were not even living in California during that period. I am requesting that the appropriate agencies investigate the attendance and reimbursement records. I have retained medical documentation, Brightwheel communications, and other supporting information. Having also worked at this facility, some of my concerns come from firsthand experiences behind the scenes, not just my experiences as a parent. I am sharing this because parents deserve transparency, appropriate supervision, professional staff, proper injury reporting, and honest communication. Based on my family's experiences, I cannot recommend Little Scholars. I encourage parents to carefully investigate this facility before enrolling their children.

I would like to give a special thank you to Ms. Dimple, Ms. Tatiana, and Ms. Rosa for their kindness, patience, and genuine care. She started in PreK, and at first for us it was hard when she was going to start because she has Selective Mutism, but Ms. Victoria made it an easy transition, she was patient with her and made us feel more comfortable, when we dropped off. Now that she's in the school age program, Ms. Ariyanna, Ms. Koby, Ms. Cristina, and Ms. Sherry, always make sure that she's doing good and is ok. (Sometimes some days are a bit rough) She loves going to little brother's school. Our son started going there when he was only 11 months old, he started with Ms Amanda in the infant room, mind you he wasn't walking but the week before he turned one he was up and going she helped him become more self efficient and gave him the confidence to be himself. When it was time to move up to the toddler room we were a little nervous of how he would do and if he was ready, I just think we weren't ready to watch him grow up so fast, we had nothing to fear because Ms. Lorena and Ms. Laura put our minds at ease. All the pictures and updates we received are amazing and for that we are grateful. Then he turned 2 and it was time to move up, our son is hard of hearing so he started to wear hearing aides and that was a whole different fear for us we were worried about kids trying to take them off or himself pulling on them but Ms Mitzi and Ms Alexis made sure to help him and they take them off for him safely during nap or when he says "All done" Ms Alexis even started to teach him some sign language, we are truly appreciate it. Every morning at drop off the staff greets him with a smile and we couldn't be more grateful that every one, even teachers that aren't his have been amazing through this journey with us. A shout out to Ms Iris and Ms Geli for being very supportive, through out the whole process with our sons care. Oh and our daughters too. Going back to work and leaving my babies with people I didn't know was one of the hardest things for me as a mom. A friend recommended this center, which gave me some comfort, and I'm so thankful we made the decision to come here. The app has also been such a great way to stay connected throughout the day. We get pictures and updates on naps, meals, diaper changes, and activities, which has given me so much peace of mind, especially when they were little. They are also very good about keeping parents informed throughout the day. The transitions haven't always been easy. We've had plenty of good drop-offs, but we've also had those random mornings where one of my girls just isn't having it and is crying hard when I leave. Those moments are difficult as a mom, but I always know there is a teacher there who will comfort them, hold them, and help them calm down. What means so much is getting a picture just minutes later showing them happy, eating their breakfast or snack, and back to their normal selves. A huge thank you to all of the teachers who have been part of my girls' journey -- Mrs. Amanda, Mrs. Kristin, Ms. Maria, Ms. Laura, Mrs. Lorena, Ms. Cristina, Ms. Sherry, Ms. Mitzi, Ms. Victoria, Ms Alexis, Ms. Cece, and Ms. Sarah. (Sorry If I missed anyone) Each of you has helped or currently helping my girls through different stages, transitions, and milestones. I can see that they genuinely feel the love and care from their teachers. My 3 year old is counting down the days until she is 4 so she can go to Ms. Victoria's class which tells me she is happy, excited, and comfortable at this center. I also want to thank Mrs. Iris and Ms. Geli for everything they do as directors. They are approachable, supportive, and genuinely care about the children, families, and teachers. Having directors who go the extra mile, communicate well and are involved in the day-to-day experience makes such a difference when you're trusting someone else with your children. I'm so grateful for everyone at KinderCare who has been part of my daughters' growth so far. Watching them grow from tiny 6-month-old babies into happy, social, independent little girls -- making friends, learning new things, and becoming more confident -- has been so special.
