Believe all the one star ratings. They don't care about anything. If your late one time you get reported to the credit bureaus for delinquency. If your going through hardship and ask them to help work with you, they don't want to hear it. Rude, nasty and child like attitude, they don't want to hear anything. I was told to not pay for three months so my loan payments can be lowered. Not only was it NOT lowered but was reported to credit bureau and credit score got ruined to a point where I couldn't get a loan from any place else. Was it done so you can take over my home? I had a horrible experience with Lyons and Mohammad Hussain... Wife and I were first-time buyers and we decided to go with a smaller bank since the bigger banks had made such a mess during the financial crisis. So, we met with Mr. Hussain and we decided to pursue the loan with Lyons. He seemed like a nice guy. After a 2-3 month process we get a commitment letter from Lyons and we set the date for the closing. Also (and this was our mistake, no doubt) we moved out of our current apartment for a temporary period of 2 weeks, before the closing. A few days before the closing Mr. Hussain and Lyons call us to reneg on the loan!!!! The explanation we got was that there was a lawsuit (disgruntled former employee) in the building and that was posing a risk. First of all, this information was available all through the 2-3 month process, before they gave us a commitment letter. Second, the said lawsuit was so frivolous that any lawyer who took a look at it saw immediately that it was made via an ambulance chaser, and had no valid legal basis. There are a dozen other things that I could say to prove that Lyons's excuse was very fishy.... But, to make a long story short, we ended up without a home for 4-5 months because of Lyons. We did get the loan with Wells Fargo, and many people suggested that we sue Lyons for what they did to us (they did not even refund the application fees!!!). But, we were so tired by the whole process and so happy to be out of the mess that Lyons made that we just wanted to move on with our lives. He was available to meet with us at our convenience including weekends.We were ready to close within 4 weeks, which is absolutely outstanding. Liars and thieves best describes Lyons Mortgage. And they do it with a smile. I spoke to John at Lyons and signed a contract locking in my interest rate at zero points. Weeks later when it came time to close on my house, we were walked upstairs into a private office away from all ears. We were told John made a mistake and that our "zero points" loan actually comes with 1 point. In our case, that was $3,000. And if we don't agree then we could find another lender if we'd like. By then it was too late in the process so we paid the point. After we walked back downstairs and headed for the door, John apologized profusely and offered to pay us the $3,000...of course, John never did. Lyons Mortgage is run by liars and thieves.
