You can only get them from someone on the medical staff calling you with them. When the representative called they said all the results were good/normal. When I pressed about the blood sugar results it turns out I was actually in prediabetic range. I'm not sure how this could be considered normal or "good". Also, I would have never had known this had I not specifically asked to have the exact number. My doctor, while there, also made sexist comments about my name. Also while there during my visit, certain results from tests that did not need to be sent off had been thrown away. My doctor literally retrieved documents from a trashcan to consult me on.

I don't excel at the art of the long term relationship (except for my husband, of course!). In fact, I have been referred to as a "fickle pickle" on more than one occasion. 2. I'm kinda picky, especially when it comes to any situation where someone may have to touch any body part of mine. 3. Especially in these times of managed care, you don't really get to know your doctor - and for me, bedside manner is just as important as the origin of the diploma hanging on the wall. Dr. Silver is exceptional - no ifs, ands or buts about it. If you need an appointment, his wonderful staff will find a way to get you in. If you call the Doctor, he'll call you back quickly, even if it means he has to stay late to do so. I've never felt like he was rushing me out during an appointment, and he is friendly, smart and has an awesome sense of humor (a good thing when you're not feeling so hot). My husband goes here and he was the first doctor to see my daughter after she was born. I trust him - and I don't throw that word around lightly. He's affiliated with Abington Hospital, which is the only hospital I would ever return to voluntarily (the food's not that bad there - honestly!) Dr. Silver is so great that it's almost a shame that I'm as healthy as I am, because I only see him a couple of times a year lately...wait...is that a sniffle coming on???

I have been a patient for…read moreover 12 years and whenever I have any kind of care that needs quick attention they will go out of their way not to help you. Case in point: I had a pretty bad allergic reaction around my eye. On a Sunday I visited a walk in clinic run by Abington Hospital (excellent) and they treated it with antibiotics and told me to make sure my doc sees it the following day. (There can be an issue of infection with bites and your eye is basically an extension of your brain so it has to be watched and evaluated daily as you don't want a brain infection). I walked into the empty waiting room and asked to see any doc for a quick look. The receptionist said, "Our records are now all digital so I can't get you in." I then pointed out the waiting room was rather empty and I would be happy to wait until someone could "squeeze me in". 15 min later a nurse came out and said they were "overwhelmed" (her words) and there was no one who would have time to see me. (Waiting room was still empty). I have worked in a medical hospital for a few years and I can tell you they have no idea what "overwhelmed" means. This office has a moral obligation to treat patients who walk in and have an issue that needs immediate attention. This staff has no idea what that means or care if they help you or not. I have never been treated more rudely by any professionals in my life. June/2014

How can that be? And the office manger, Janice, is no better. Not helpful and unpleasant. If it wasn't for Gail at the front desk I'd stop going because the unprofessionalism at the front desk and on the phone is a block to really good patient care. If only the front desk folk were are compassionate as the doctors and nurses! I'm praying for change!

Very disappointed with the customer service at Elkins Park Family Medicine. I called to schedule an…read moreappointment and was met with significant disrespect and a lack of professionalism. I've been experiencing increased symptoms associated with diabetes (to which I have both a maternal and paternal history of this diagnosis). I called to request bloodwork to rule out the condition. I spoke with two individuals--I was told they couldn't see me for 1-2 months, because time has to be open for "sick" patients. I wouldn't be requesting the appointment if I wasn't feeling sick. The woman then went on to say that I've only been there four times since 2018 (I'm not sure how that's relevant?). The reason, of course, is due to how difficult it is to get an appointment. As a result, I've generally gone to urgent care when I have a cold, etc., as I know I'll be seen in a reasonable amount of time. My PCP is Dr. Rosen, who I've only seen once (my first visit), every other time I've been with Dr. O'Brien. Both doctors are very kind. I am a Psychologist; regardless of how good I am, clients must be met with respect by the staff that is the first point of contact. They are a representation of your practice. I will now be changing my primary care physician. Highly recommend that office staff receive professional development in effective, compassionate communication.

I'm so glad that I decided to go to Dr Rosen's office the first time that I did. She is excellent at her job and has definitely exceeded my expectations as a primary care physician.
