Things are winding down but some homes still have issues and we did have a couple that these men took care of quickly. Can't say enough good things about these two men...knew what they were doing and were very professional. Our thanks to Egan for this team and we're so excited to have a beautiful lawn back next year.

We provided specifics on the types of plants and shrubs, how much work we would do to maintain them, and the need to avoid attracting deer. What we wound up with was overpriced and underperformed on all dimensions. The big decline in level of service may be due to the company's difficulty in hiring help. Perhaps the company should take on fewer jobs until they can staff up. I would suggest driving around and checking out their work before signing on with them for your landscaping needs.

Complete Waste of Money - All Three Projects Had to Be Fully Redone…read more I'm writing this review to help other homeowners avoid the significant time and money I wasted, as well as the frustration I experienced with Travers Construction. After my father passed away over three years ago, I hired them for a basement water penetration project because he had trusted and used them for years. I assumed I could trust them too. That project was the beginning of the end. It was clear that water was coming up through the foundation at the front of the property... they insisted that digging a trench about 15 feet from the house and filling it with stone was what needed to be done to fix the issue. I asked them whether this would just result in groundwater building up against the foundation as the path of least resistance, but they insisted that wasn't true -- and that is exactly what happened. At the time I didn't have experience with these types of repairs, so I trusted their recommendation. They backfilled the trench with stone right up to grade and laid the grass directly on top of the stone with no dirt or topsoil. The grass died because it had nothing to root into. After the very next rain we had more water in the basement than ever before. When the problem persisted and worsened, they washed their hands of it and left. Their so-called repair made the situation worse and was a complete waste of money. Another contractor had to remove all of their work and redo the entire project properly. After this experience I was smart enough not to use them again. Only then did I look back at the earlier projects they had done for my father and realize every single one of them was also complete trash that ultimately had to be removed and redone by another contractor. French drain project (~3 years ago, around the time of my father's passing): The quality of work was awful. No filter fabric was added to the drain and the perforated pipe wasn't even connected. The system was failing less than two years later. It will need to be completely redone in the next few years. It was a complete waste of money. Patio / backyard foundation project (~14 years ago): They were hired to eliminate water penetration at the rear foundation of the house. They backfilled with pure clay. The project failed and water intrusion through the foundation started less than 10 years later. The patio had to be removed and the entire project had to be completely redone by another contractor last year. Their work not only failed to solve the water problem -- it was a complete waste of money. In all three projects Travers Construction delivered substandard work using improper materials and techniques. Every job failed, required full removal of their installation, and had to be completely redone from scratch by a different contractor at significant additional cost. They appear to prioritize quick jobs and collecting payment over quality or lasting results, leaving homeowners to pay twice (or more) to fix the problems they created. If you are considering Travers Construction, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. I trusted them when I moved to the area because my father had used them in the past -- and it cost my family substantial time, money, and repeated frustration. Learn from my experience and hire someone else.

Had Bennett Landscaping come for a spring cleanup that I was disappointed in. While he came when he…read moresaid he was going to come the quality of the work was not worth the price ($1,200). I had him build beds around my new deck and requested that he split some hostas to put in those new beds. The hostas were put in uneven and I had to have him come back to straighten out the beds as they were noticeable uneven. He left a pile of dirt when he was creating the beds and just left it until I specified asked him to remove it. A fallen tree that I asked him to push back wasn't fully done, which was the reason why I had him come to do this cleanup. The leaves and debris from the lawn were just pushed to the end of the yard rather than fully out of sight so you could still see all the debris that was blown. After mowing the lawn, nothing was blown off. They never came back to cut the backyard that was inside a fenced in area and he didn't weed whack anything by the fence. Overall the spring cleanup was not up to my expectations. I was eager to give him business as I know he's relatively new having a business. Will not use him again.

With the price being reasonable, it was a no-brainer to give the green light to move forward immediately rather than need to search for more estimates. The work was completed efficiently and a good job was done taking care of the issue at hand. Would definitely call them back for more work and certainly would recommend this company!

He came out for an initial quote and we decided to hire him on the condition we would mow the grass. We had already paid the deposit on the job. He never gave us an exact start date after we called him to let him know we mowed the lawn because he kept mentioning he was "squeezing us in the busy season." When the time came to drop off the soil I asked the truck driver to not drive on my neighbors lawn. He did it anyways and messed up their grass. The pile of loam was sitting there for a few days before he decided to show up. He kept mentioning he had bigger jobs to worry about. Once he did come to level out the loam he did a horrible job and tore up grass, and the sides were uneven. There were large clumps of soil and the flat area was not completely flat.. To this day there are patches of missing grass around the perimiter. After he left, I called him to let him know I was unhappy with the job after taking a more careful look at it. I explain the situation and he said "what do you want me to do about it?" He said I should go to the nearest Home Depot and grab a shovel and grass seeds and fix it myself. He was rude and condescending throughout the entire call saying that he gave me $100 off the job and I should use that to buy a rake and grass seeds to finish the job on my own. He kept saying I should be grateful he squeezed us in in front of more expensive contracts he was working on. I went to buy the rake and grass seeds and by that time the loam was too hard to work with and couldn't do anything. I called him back and let him know I bought materials for the job he should have completed but he was hard to reach. When I sent him a text message after not responding to my voicemails he kept saying he didn't have time to read my texts and was too busy and he responded when it was convenient for him. He came back to complete the job and smooth out the loam and add sand but the process was completely frustrating working with an unprofessional, and ignorant person. From the date the soil was dropped off to the date the work was completed took weeks. I do not recommend.
