Whatever you do......DO NOT USE Lyons Cleaners. They are the absolute worst. After I explained to them and even SHOWED them the " Dry Clean Only" tag on my beautiful silver blazer, they washed it and it came back a limp white cotton jacket. It was awful. To make matters worse, the woman tried to convince me that I brought it in that way. She is the most dishonest and deceitful person ever. I trusted them with this special piece that my deceased husband bought for me and I loved wearing it for that reason. Jim is incredibly accommodating and has worked with us to make sure that our clothes are delivered on time, or prepared to be picked up on the appointed date. While I can't complain about the service i can not give this 4-5 stars. Everything was fine with this place, the people are nice, they are fast, friendly and professional. The only thing is the starch. I love HEAVY - HEAVY starch. I enjoy my shirt crispy and extra well done if you know what i mean. When I had asked for their most starch they said "Extra Heavy!" I said now we're talking now baby! And what happened....they came back in my opinion just normal starched for me. I have gone to other cleaners and requested HEAVY starch and my shirts were literally crispy and I love it :) but this place....nothing. Again its a personal preference the prices are OK, the people nice but the starch...they are a little cheap on it. read more

Now THIS is what a dry cleaner should be. My main need is for shirts, and here they are top notch. I left my previous cleaner because my shirts always came back wth a stale or chemical smell, and "no starch" was a foreign term. Here, the shirts are crisp and very well pressed and smell fresh. My white shirts came back glowing white. Workers are pleasant and always smile. They have my business from this point on. read more

RUN AWAY I had been using this dry cleaner for years and was a loyal customer. However in my most recent trip they completely ruined a dress of mine and had the nerve to blame it on me. The dye was running on the dress everywhere and it was clearly caused by the chemicals they used to clean it after not testing the fabric. Given the severity of the damage, no other dry cleaner will be able to fix it. The most disappointing part is that this is how they treat their most LOYAL customers. Such a shame. Let me begin with the $14.60 cleaning pickup that I wanted to pay for with my corporate card. "Minimum credit card charge is $15.00." Really, for.40c your going to aggravate a customer, apparently yes, Wait, it gets better. About a year ago, they couldn't find my clothes and what appears to be their classic response, "it's your fault" for not having your ticket. Yes, eventually the clothes were found, they had it under the wrong phone number. So what threw me over the edge with these rude people after 14 years of doing business with them? I simply forgot to pick up my clothes on a Saturday. I needed these clothes badly, I was leaving Monday morning at 4:00 for JFK for a month. I had to take a shot at getting in touch with these people... I was able to get a message to one of their employees (the sister) on Saturday evening at 6:30 / 7:00. Let me just say, things became extremely crazy and if I might use the word, really weird! I was called three times on my cell, berated that I would dare get a message to her on a Saturday. Bottom line, the sisters first words to me were, "it's your fault for not picking them up before we closed." After 14 years as a customer. bye, bye. read more

I have been a long-time customer of Lyons Fine Cleaners and have never had a reason to complain. Prices seem pretty comparable to other local dry cleaners. They are quick and have always been pleasant to me. Even if I pick up my items days past when they are complete, it's never an issue. Will keep using them! read more

Expensive for women's shirts/blouses and dresses. They gave me a shirt back and it was not clean. When I asked about if they could refund just for that item, they blamed it on me and refused to offer a refund. Not going back. read more

Long time costumer and they have always had great service. They've always had a quick turn around time. I've had numerous alteration jobs and have never been disappointed. Even adjusted my wedding tux here! The couple who owns the store is always treating me politely and seamstress is amazing! Not sure why everyone's experience was unpleasant except for the guy who lost his ticket stub. Have you looked back there? There are thousands upon thousands of clothes, how else would they keep track of it? Anyways to sum up I think they are good at what they do. If you want your clothes cleaned quickly, shoes cleaned well or alteration done right this is the place for you. If you are prone to losing ticket stubs it might be a good idea to invest in a good iron and ironing board ;) read more

We had been loyal customers of this dry cleaner for 8 years, using their weekly delivery service normally with good results. Recently a bag of clothes went missing (purchase cost $500) and could not be located despite several attempts. In the end, the dry cleaner denied any responsibility and refused to even give us store credit - if nothing else a poor business decision since we had been spending $100 per month with them. Bottom line - don't expect any help from this cleaner if there is a mistake, even if you are a regular customer! read more

The people are nice however on more than one occassion clothes were lost. Our orders were big, so we did not check for each item prior to leaving the store. It was interesting to note the items lost - a brand new burberry shirt, a gucci shirt - which was miraculously located when questioned, a specific size trouser three times. The sad part, even though we were great customers who frequented the store each Saturday, they NEVER even offered to reimburse the cost of any item Shame on me for returning to the cleaners due to convenience. Dropped off two pairs of trousers and one suit. No other customers in shop when I entered. I was told it would be ready in two days. Came back then and picked up. Got home and noticed that there was some damage on one of the legs of a pair of trousers. Returned to Lyons and was told that it was due to a moth. I asked her why she dry cleaned the trousers if she saw the damage. She told me to get an exterminator to get rid of moth. Whatever the reason, why would they dry clean an item where there was a potential controversy. They had my phone number to call and ask what I wanted to do. No problem. No return. read more

There's a middle aged male at the front desk who poorly services and mistreats customers. I'll keep it short. A discrepancy ensued in the number of garments being returned back to us. This man began to raise his voice and threw the receipt at us out of uncontrolled anger. We were insulted. It was discovered the missing garments were not all cleaned so we were told to come back to pick up the remainder of our order. If our awful experience wasn't enough, we were verbally attacked again when we picked up the garments they forgot to clean! Instead of attempting to make this right, he started to berate us once again. I'm under the impression our terrible experience is not an isolated incident. We would rather wear soiled clothing than return back to Lyons cleaners. read more
