As of today, I've been a member and going mostly to this location for almost 4 years…read more positives: 1. Better layout than Fairfax location 2. A large parking spot that looks divided into 2 sections and if the closest section is full, you can always find parking a bit further away. 3. Really good samples and hard-working employees making sure samples come to you fast. less positives: 1. Fairfax location is better organized at the checkout with boxes and packing -- verified multiple times. 2. Less Asian food options which is a big bummer for me.

I wanted to share a positive experience that deserves recognition. We often hear about customer…read moreservice in stores and restaurants, but rarely acknowledge the people working in automotive service departments. Today, I visited the Newington Costco for a TPMS issue and received outstanding service from Tony and Norvel. They were friendly, knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely committed to helping customers. Despite an extremely busy shop, they remained calm, courteous, and respectful with everyone. When my vehicle wasn't ready at the original estimated time, they took the time to explain the delay and sincerely apologized. At no point did they seem frustrated or dismissive. Instead, they continued treating every customer with patience and kindness. I also remember Tony helping me tremendously with a battery issue about seven months ago. He may not remember me, but I certainly remember his exceptional service. Tony and Norvel are a credit to Costco. Their professionalism, positive attitude, and dedication to customers make a lasting impression. Thank you both for a job well done.

This is my first time being inside a BJ's and I have to say, I am quite impressed. I took advantage…read moreof the membership discount for new members to join. I did this all online and needed to head to a store to get a physical card. This was the only low point of my visit. Not because I got bad service, they were amazing and had everything running smoothly. It was technical issues of the equipment. The printer wasn't working and they needed to restart it a few times before it could spit out a card for me. And when it did, not the best print job. What I really like here, and this will have to be a behavior I will have to unlearn for this store, is that you are not hounded for your ID upon entry. I didn't have to fumble to find it and just walked right in. Honestly, when compared to a like business, they are very lax about hounding you for your membership. Once I had my card in hand, I browsed real quick to see what they had available. Like items that match competitors and then some. Have to get used to the app for this as they have multiple coupons that, if you want to use, have to be clipped in app to be taken off at chekcout. Checking out was easy and fast, self service. Walking out, present the receipt and out the door you go.

The online service is not connected to an individual store (just like Walmart & Walmart(dot)com. If you have the Capital One credit card through BJ's, you MUST retain the member number that is on your credit card or you won't be able to redeem the rewards that you accrue with the credit card. After hours of conversations with customer service, I decided not to have a new credit card mailed to me. We have postal service issues. The local store had resolution. BJ's online was not on the same page. There's gotta be a better way to provide good service. BJ's online needs to get their ducks in a row. Everyone at this location was awesome to us. The one star is for BJ's online customer service.

It would be perfect if Costco would bring back the English crumpets they previously sold and served as samples. Otherwise, we can find organic fruit, quality meat and scrumptious baked goods and a great selection of vino. Our family would be over the moon if the crumpets returned and we could enjoy with Nutella! The plant department definitely deserves praise, from gorgeous hydrangeas to potted plants you can place on your doorstep over each season brings a smile.

No, not even close... but it's not their fault. The lot is too small. The store is built on the site of the old Mt Vernon Multiplex, which closed in 2007 or so. It's jammed in between Ladson Lane and the Wal-Mart. And while I love the cheap Costco gas, sometimes I wish they'd get rid of the pumps and use the space for parking, as more than once I've simply been unable to find a spot -- and getting out of the lot can take 20 minutes. The crowd outside means there's a crowd inside. The management does a good job of keeping checkout lanes open, and of course the checkers are amazingly fast and efficient, but there's really no place for shopper to queue up. So they fill the aisles waiting their turn, and if you're just trying to get some Cliff bars up front, you have to navigate through a bunch of impatient folks waiting to check out. Again, it's not the store's fault that they're popular, and if they cleared a bunch of merchandise lanes to dedicate to checkout space, it would mean less stuff or higher prices. I get the issue. So for me, I try to take advantage of the Executive early hours and do my shopping then: Never a problem finding a spot, and I'm in and out in record time.
