I feel comfort arriving in a new city, knowing where I will be laying my head. I arrived in Galway (a city I had never visited) and booked a B&B (instead of my normal hostel) in January 2011. I booked Lynfield B&B, a 10min walk up the road from the bus station and a 15min walk into town . The house sits on one of the main roads into the city, but remains in a quite area of the the town. They have parking, but for my short stay, I walked everywhere.
The proprietors, Trish and Adrien are amazing, always addressing my needs for comfort, but not overbearing. I felt I was a personal guest in their home. All rooms are private. Mine was bright and airy, overlooking the main road, had a TV. It also had one of the most amazing mattresses I had ever slept on, I haven't slept so well in so long. I either need to get a new mattress or visit Lynfield B&B more often. :) The room was well kept and cozy. The shower was smaller than expected and the bathroom space had limited shelving for my toiletries, but it was manageable. The room came with amenities including, fresh towels, morning Irish breakfast (Trish nixed the pudding for me), Color TV, and free WiFi.
I would book again for its proximity to transportation, distance from the noisy, bustling city center, and the customer service of Trish and Adrien. read more
