The Abacus Guest House was a wonderful place to spend the Galway leg of our trip. It was very easy to find, and since we had a car, the small car park (which fits about 4 cars) was very convenient. Even when we got back late at night and the car park was full, there was plenty of space on the streets. If you want to leave your car there and take the bus into the city, the bus stop is literally right around the corner.
The Abacus Guest House has all the amenities you'll need, and, after staying in bed and breakfasts around the country, it is one of the most accommodating of places to stay! All rooms have en suite bathrooms, a TV and refrigerator to store your wine and cheese after the picnics are over. Of course, there were materials to make coffee and tea in the room.
Breakfast was delicious, and the dining room was sunny and bright. We took full advantage of the full Irish breakfast, fruit, juice, pastries, yogurt and were stuffed each morning and ready to start our long day. The proprietor was very helpful and friendly. She gave great advice about places to eat and catch live music in the evenings.
I would definitely stay here again if I make it back to Galway! read more
