I used Lyft a couple times when Uber gets a bit too expensive or unavailable. I used the app last week to get back home from downtown Orlando. I was finished with my dinner and I took a ride back to Metrowest area for about 22 dollars. Since I have Dashpass, I was immediately upgraded to priority status for pickup. Right after I requested a ride, I found out that it was ready for my in an instant. Stunned, I went outside only to find the driver was ready and waiting. I went inside the van and the driver knew where to go. We had a nice conversation while heading home, and the driver was friendly and professional. The van was clean and spacious. It was an excellent ride and only cost me 26 dollars after tip. I normally find Lyft a bit more expensive than Uber, but sometimes you can get great deals. Another thing I like about Lyft is there live notifications on the lock screen works on the Always On Display, so don't have to keep your phone awake to see the progress. Always be a nice passenger and be aware of your driver as well. Normally if you have higher passenger rating, your chances of getting a better driver is greater. I consistently had a great experience with Lyft, even though I don't use it as much as Uber. I find it a great alternative when Uber is unavailable. We mostly used Lyft during our trip to Orlando in January 2025. The main reasons why: 1. Lyft partnered with Delta Air Lines. As Delta SkyMiles members, we got 1 mile per $1 spent on Lyft rides. That said, Delta is ending their eight-year deal with Lyft soon. Delta SkyMiles can continue to be earned via Lyft through April 7, 2025. On May 8, 2025 had an incident with a 5 star driver. Need Lyft to take me home from a Doctors appointment. I am an 80 year old man on oxygen and a walker. Previous Lyft drivers stow it in the trunk, but this driver had difficulty getting it to fit. I tried ease the tension saying ( having a bad day) he exploded not my job, get out of the car, I saying I need the walker, he yelled not my fucking job and called the police. SCAM SCAM SCAM I rode with Carlos in Orlando for all of 11 minutes. They charged me for vomiting in a car while on my way to a business meeting at 3 in the afternoon. I asked them to show a copy of the photo they claimed was me with a date time stamp on it. Every smart phone attaches a date and time to a photo and it's really easy to get, if you care about your customers. On top of the lie that I damaged the car by getting sick, they charged double the rate their app says the rider is responsible for. Multiple emails over 3 days, no resolution. Go to UBER. My 4:40AM Ride showed up and i was waiting in the wrong spot at my hotel in Clearwater Beach...I started walking towards him with my luggage as he was driving off with another passenger I yelled out ROBERT....he freaking waved his hand at me and drove off!!!!! It is pretty clear one of two things happened...the guy who he picked up got a free ride or the guy he picked up paid him cash and ROBERT took the Lyft money that I paid for his ride.... Lyft refuses to offer me a refund as the mapping software shows I got a ride of course because he took the other person to the airport! I messaged the driver as shown in my pic attached...without response not even after the fact...since he knows he screwed me and maybe it was legit didn't know...but he didn't want to admit that to Lyft..... I have receipts for a UBER ride I had to hail because of this ...either way LYFT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS... The one star was not for the person that drove me home but for the company and its policies and procedures. I will definitely not use this company again. Apparantly they have a setup with Just Answer. When I went into the app again to chat and find out where my ride was I was redirected to a service that was not identified so I assumed it was still Lyft. I asked where my ride was and they chatted on line with me until we worked out a pickup time. The original driver was redirected by the company. I was very concerned as I was in a city that I did not know. There is a policy on line that you will not wait longer than 10 minutes or they will not charge you... I waited over an hour. As I waited for my driver, 3 other groups of people were picked up by Lyft drivers and those drivers informed me that they were redirected to pick up these groups. When I finally got home I checked my card to see that they decided to upcharge me and not the original price stated in the app. We're still arguing about this and is not been straightened out as of this date of December 5th 2025. The worst part was they agreed not to charge me per my bank credit card, and then on December 1st 2025 the recharged my card as you only get 60 day to fight. They were so sneaky that they let my bank think that they settled this, but in reality they were waiting to the last minute to recharge me. Shame on them! read more

On 10/07/24, I scheduled a pickup at the Orlando International Airport. The response from LYFT was to be on Level A2 at position 12. The driver failed to show up and I was charged a $7.00 cancellation fee. When I received the text that my ride had been canceled, I scheduled another ride and received the same pickup location Level A2/position 12. This time a driver did pick me up at the designated location. I disputed the $7.00, cancellation fee and LYFT rejected my claim. My daughter and some friends took a lyft to go home from going to eat 9/4. She had her phone in her purse and she said it must have fell out. She realized the next morning and they started the process to get it back. They tried everything. They found where it was on life360 but weren't sure which apartment the driver lived in. She was told she had to file a police report. So she did. They found the car but couldn't do anything else. The friend who booked the ride got in touch with lyft as well but said they couldn't do anything because the driver isn't responding. The girl has tried to get in touch with the driver as well and no response. The phone has now died and we have no way of tracking it. My daughter had to go get a new line added to our plan and a new phone because she was without a phone for 3 days trying to get it back. She had no way of getting in touch with anyone so had to be with a friend at all times unless she was in her apartment and could use her laptop. We called Lyft at Orlando Airport Terminal C yesterday. After connecting to driver Janquiel, it showed arriving in 9 mins. 5 mins later the arriving time changed to 13 mins. We thought the diver may have missed the entrance and was still waiting. A few minutes later we received a text message from Lyft saying Janquiel had arrived and wait time was 5 mins. We kept walking along the pickup area during that 20 mins. There were less than 10 cars in and out, and NONE is Janquiel's Honda Accord. During the 5-min wait time, the map showed his car was driving away from the airport. We are charged by Lyft for no-show. We waited for over 20 mins. It is for sure that the car never comes into the airport. However, Lyft cancelled our request and charges the no-show fee. read more

Boy oh boy did they let us down. Booked Lyft at 9:45pm at their stop at Epcot. The automated message said pick-up between 9:53pm and 10:13pm. Time came and went by. Nothing. Other folks came and went. Uber & Lyft came and went picking up others. I viewed the app. Nothing. Got to 10:30 pm. The app said maximum waiting time 30 minutes but that meant nothing and it said nothing on what happened after 30 minutes - we were 45 minutes waiting. It got to 10:45pm. The car park was virtually empty. No vehicles were in sight as arriving so my wife asked a Disney employee about cabs and was overheard by a guy who had been parked beside us 15 minutes - a taxi driver. He immediately offered his services. We cancelled Lyft immediately and the app asked if I was sure. Damn right. The taxi guy was from Haiti. He was really entertaining and whisked us back lickety spit. He was cheaper than the Lyft quote too. So thanks for nothing Lyft. read more

Last night I arrived at the Orlando airport around 1:30 but didn't make it to my final destination until almost 2:30 Am, so I was waiting for the Lyft driver for a very long tim. I can't blame the driver because he apparently was in bed when he received the alert which means there were not many drivers available for my pick up. For years I have preferred Lyft over Uber for their reliability and professional service, However the last couple years I've noticed a big decline in their service. I left my iphone in a Lyft car. Within an hour I got on the Lyft website to report the lost item. Lyft is in constant contact with its drivers, so this should have been an easy procedure. After an hour, I called. Emma took my info. Several hours later, no word. There was no way to get an update on my original request, so I put in another. Lyft sends you an automated response acknowledging they received the request, but no one actually responded with anything substantive, like attempting to contact the driver. The next day I called again. Evangeline took the same info, but made no reference to any previous request or telephone call, even though she had my account info. Four days pass and no substantive response from Lyft. I submit a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, within hours I receive a call from the driver, who told me that he only received one call on Thursday, (incident was on Monday). He had put the phone aside and figured that someone would contact him about it. Then, to top it off, Lyft told the BBB that they had been trying to contact the driver all week. Maybe since they are out of San Francisco, and people don't care enough to even clean the streets, why should Lyft employees care about anything? I had a driver pick me up. Was on route, heading to destination. The driver all of a sudden jumped out the car, left us in it. As the car started rolling down the highway and then into a ditch. I'm so glad there was no other car coming. We sat there thinking we were about to be hit by a car and prepared for it. Our driver Raphael started running down the highway. Me and my friends felt that we were in danger as if the car was going to blow up as it continue to roll and off the road and into a ditch. We jumped out the car, and started running away from the car. As we were running away, I was searching for the driver and saw the guy running down the middle of the highway and not turning back. Me and my friends got to safety and called another taxi. And our night was ruined. To feel we were going to die or end up in a worse situation on vacation, I'd never ride lytf again!!!!! In all my experiences with taking lyft or taxi, I've never had someone just get up and leave me in the car and start running away with me or someone in the car. I thought I was going to die. Used Lyft this past weekend as an alternative to Uber- never again. Driver was terrible- pulled over on the side of a major highway to adjust his hood, which was fine and could have waited until we were stopped. Frequently hit the brakes too hard when we were coming to a slowdown. Didn't have the fastest route to where we were going, so I had to advise the route. I complained to Lyft and they did nothing but offer an apology. Will never be using their services again. Driver was early but very disappointed with how their coupon code on Retail-Me-Not didn't work. I decided to use Lyft over Uber primarily because I saw they had a $20 coupon thru Retail Me Not. I entered the app by clicking on a Lyft link where the coupon code was listed on Retail Me Not. I didn't see the code listed when I went to confirm the reservation so I specifically went back and copied the code and when I tried to paste it, it said it couldn't be used because a code had already been applied. I thought GREAT, the coupon must come off on the backend. After my trip, when I saw that it wasn't applied, I contacted Lyft. They said that someone (from Retail Me Not) must have used the code. Worst ride share company ever! I am a driver and have had so many issues with this company and customer service is absolutely horrible. You can only chat with agents who are absolutely horrible, unprofessional, and dismissive and will end the chat with you without resolving your issue, so basically like hanging the phone up on you virtually. I've had so many issues that I've reached out to the Better Business Bureau which is the only way you will get a response back to your issue because it goes directly to their corporate office. I've read others reviews and see that customers have just as many issues with customer service as the drivers. Drivers get cheated out of fairs and Lyft doesn't offer a fuel incentive like Uber does for these high gas prices. They take a huge chunk off the payout per ride and Uber pays more, offers fuel incentives and I get much better rides with Uber and a better class of clients through Uber. Lyft used to be pretty good when I first began driving for them several years ago, but gradually became worse and after the pandemic is went straight to trash! You can't get anyone over the phone, every line of communication is done through chat which is absolutely horrible. So I would have to give Lyft a -0, and continue to drive in peace with Uber. The worst thing ever is that Lyft will have a driver take a passenger out-of-state but will not provide any type of bonus or incentive to the driver for the ride. Then the driver has to dead-head all the way back to their home state without a fare going back which is a huge financial loss to the driver. So you really aren't making anything from that long distance ride only Lyft is profiting when they already take a huge cut of the ride fare. Sometimes these types of rides are hours away from the drivers home state. I even had an incident where I took a passenger out-of-state which burned out my fuel so I tried to cash-out to get fuel to get back and the app wouldn't let me cash out, so I chatted in with an agent which stated that I would have to wait 48 hours to cash out because I recently updated my card in file. I wasn't made aware of this until I chatted in because prior you could cash out immediately with no issues. Long story short, the agent basically became disrespectful and dismissive and told me that I would have to wait. So they were willing to leave me stranded in another state at night with no way back home. Thank goodness I was able to get someone to send me some cash because I only drive with my license and the card I need for fuel due to safety reasons. Lyft support is the absolute worst. I was in Orlando for a week and I relied on Lyft for most of my transportation. I personally enjoyed Lyft vs Uber. The promotions are much better! When someone uses your code, you automatically get the credit. Customer service is very prompt and replies to your message and explains everything throughly. I would highly recommend using Lyft when needed. Downfall to Lyft is that it can be a little pricer than Uber, but if you have credit, it's well worth it. I also don't like that Lyft doesn't reserve the remaining credit if all credit is not used. But it's all good, Uber is the same way too. Also, I enjoyed the Lyft drivers in Orlando! For all Uber, Lyft, Mers, Taxi, etc....riders. Whenever your driver picks you up, make sure you have your gps maps on too so they won't take a longer route and charge you extra. Also, if there's traffic, download the waze app. It will tell you approximately how long traffic is. Sometimes the driver will ask if you want to take a different route because they see traffic and sometimes traffic may look bad but it's not as bad as you think. read more
