Use as an absolute last resort. I was passing through Charleston for one day and needed to dry clean a suit and shirts for an important meeting the following day. I went to Lyerly's because of the same day option. Upon my return that evening, they had "computer problems" and couldn't tag clothes so couldn't locate my items. I went in the back and searched and found my suit, but no shirts. I ended up having to buy new shirts. Two days later the shirts were found. Based on the consistently bad reviews and lack of management reply, I'd recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

Although I love the Lyerly's off of Coleman Blvd, after recently moving, the location off of Longpoint Road is much more convenient. I've gone here multiple times and have had issues most of the time upon pick up. They offer an in by 9 out by 5 service, but I've found that this service is usually unavailable. Not a big deal because I haven't really needed to utilize it. I've dropped off clothes to be picked up in 3-4 days. When I went back my husbands suites were there and ready, but for whatever reason my dress wasn't on the same delivery. They did offer me a discount when I came back the following week to pick it up. On the next occasion I was running errands, on a slight one schedule, and I got to Lyerly's to see a sign "be back soon." Thinking they were organizing a delivery in the back I realized when the girl returned she was picking up her lunch and locked the doors while away. If you have to choose, use their Coleman Boulevard location, but steer clear of their Longpoint road location. read more

I have been customer of Lyerly's for years. Not once have I ever had a problem. Thats some kind of personal beast I brought a blanket in to be dry cleaned. Its a Hudson Bay Antique Blanket. Our friends were coming to town. They are big Hudson Bay Point Blanket Collectors. It was going to be great fun to find out from them the historical significance of this blanket. I brought this valuable iconic blanket to Lyerly's with no expectation except professional service0 as usual. The blanket was to be ready on the 15th... no blanket on the 18th. I understand this little jewel of a dry cleaner has been sold. It appears the new owners don't have their eye on the ball. Several observations: To the New Owners, Aside from the Blanket issue, the advertised hours don't match the posted hours on the store doors. The covid excuse doesn't cut it. Another wasted trip to your store last week. While I'm at it, Closed on Saturday?...Yikes that's when most of us need to get the chores done. Your Website is in need of serouos updating. The last consumer reviews on your Web Site are dated 2016 ! Granted that's It takes a great commitment to keep up with the level of service your existing clients are expecting. The Lyerly Brand has always been known for performance, service and a genuine concern for its customers. Customer service is very bad. They promote "same day shirts" right on the front door when you walk in but if you ask for that service, you are made to feel terrible or that it is quite a hardship for them. On a couple of occasions, the rep told me she didn't know why they don't take that statement off the door because it seems they don't want to offer that service. So I guess the customers just need to continue to feel bad about asking for it. As for the 7:00a opening time, it doesn't seem that is accurate either. On a number of occasions I've been there at 7:00, 7:05 and even 7:15 and they weren't open yet. It is pretty frustrating. Forgot to add this: I was inspired to post this review because I'm part of a "Nextdoor" online community and read these posts from my neighbors: "Does anyone have any suggestions for dry cleaners nearby? We've been using Lyerly's by Publix and it seems very pricey and takes several days to get your clothes back." Replies... "We used to use Lyerly's, but they ruined several shirts and we found their customer service to be lacking. We recently started using Dixie Cleaners...so far so good. They pick up from and drop off at your home for free. I would say their prices are comparable to Lyerly's & pretty much everywhere else that I checked." Steer clear of this mismanaged establishment!! I dropped clothes off on a Monday 9/1. The clothes were needed for a business trip leaving CHS on Saturday 9/6. Prior to opting for normal pick-up, I asked if they would be ready before the weekend--several times. The woman assured me it would be ready Friday 9/5. On Friday, I stopped to pick up everything for my trip the next day at 5:30 pm. Just one piece of clothing from the bundle was ready. To make things worse, they couldn't give me the unclean clothes since they launder offsite. I attempted to call the owner at several different locations and left a voicemail at the Mt. Pleasant location. My hope was getting the clothes back in order to launder at the hotel. AFTER the business conference and once back in town on 9/12, I stopped to get the rest of my clothes. Never received a call from the owner, nor did they discount the bill in attempts to make things right. read more

My wife's curtain's were either stolen or lost and damaged beyond repair. The curtains were not returned or replacement cost paid for. I still have the receipt 614184 from April 30th. We have not received any reply from the cleaners or any employees. How can you take items to the cleaners and trust that they will be returned and or replaced when there is no response from there employees or management. So if you don't care if your items are returned take them to these dry cleaners. read more

Despite having a VIP bag and my request for "folded" shirts being in several places, they kept coming back on hangers, much to the consternation of the revolving door employees who worked there who I liked but felt sorry for. No way to contact an owner. Finally moved my business to KB cleaners across the street. Very pleased. read more

Very convenient but can no longer go there. They have scorched several shirts that had to be trashed. Collars, cuffs, front pleat. You name it, destroyed. They want a receipt for the shirt's purchase in exchange for that dollar amount of dry cleaning. Are you kidding!!! read more

Quite simply, Lyerly's is way overpriced. I just moved here from Atlanta where my dress shirt cost $1.25 to wash and press with starch. Leverly's for the same service charged me $2.82 per shirt. I will never go back. I am now on a search for a good cleaner at a reasonable price. read more

No and no. I asked for medium starch on a shirt & got no starch, plus some wrinkles. The lapel on my suit jacket was creased right in the middle from the steaming process. I needed the stuff done next day so had to re-steam the jacket myself that night. If you use these guys, check their work before you leave and don't use them for something that you need the next day, or you could be SOL. read more

Having recently moved to Charleston, we were hoping to find a reliable dry cleaner for my partner's military uniforms. Our only requirement is that the uniform be cleaned in a timely manner. The first time we brought the uniform here, they did a great job - clean and ready in a couple days for about $10. We decided to bring a blanket to be cleaned. We were told it would take 2 days but due to "problems at the factory" we received it more than 2 weeks late. They also said there had been a mix up and the names associated with garments had been lost, so it may take even longer for them to sort out what belonged to who. The woman was very sympathetic and gave us a small discount, but it made us nervous as it would have caused major problems if a uniform had been two weeks late. We decided to give it one more chance and take the uniform again. Despite going during regular business hours (around 10 am - they open at 7) the door was locked and the open sign turned off. There was no note on the door. I did some other shopping and came back about half an hour later and the door was still locked. We have since decided to take our business to KB's across the street and have been happy so far. read more

I called Lyerly's to set up a scheduled pick up and drop off. They dropped off their bags last week on Thursday and told me hey would pick up my dry cleaning on Tuesdays. They never showed up on Tuesday and they haven't returned my calls after leaving three messages. I would NOT recommend this company at all. read more

Dropped off a pricey silk blouse for dry cleaning-had a water spot (maybe white wine) on the front. They did get the spot out, but in the process, returned it to me with 2 spots that looked like a sharpee pen had bled onto the fabric-one on the sleeve and one on the back of the blouse. Additionally, color had been "bleached" from the collar. I didn't notice these issues until I paid and took my items home and unwrapped them. They told me their policy was to first clean it again. This time the sharpee-looking stains were lighter, but not gone, but the collar is ruined. Once color is gone, it's gone. They told me they would have the owner call me, but he/she never did. I have gone back into the store two more times to ask to speak to the owner, and both times I have been told he/she would call me, but they never have. Essentially, I paid them $$ to ruin my blouse. They are dishonest and incompetent and I will never trust them with any of my dry cleaning or laundry again. read more
