Horrible experience. This is only my opinion and my own personal story. I was charged $1,500 dollars for help with custody papers. Initially, I was ok with that. They sounded very kind and knowledgable. Everything went well until it was time to file the proof of service. According to records provided by Lyd The Worker Bee, the respondent was served on 8/26/2019. Proof of Service was paid in full with the retainer funds. During the month of September I received my first statement from them. I noticed I was being charged every time they called or emailed me with a question, no matter how simple. During September they made attempts to reach me and my husband by phone but never left a voicemail. I wasn't concern that it was anything urgent in nature as I also received an email that they wanted to discuss the case and make sure we were prepared for court. I spoke with them on one occassion in October. They asked me if I wanted to pay $1500 for one of the lawyers they recommend, to appear with us in court. I declined the attorney and I declined any further calls due to the charges that were stacking up for communicating with them and not having the ability to take on anymore bills with them. Never was there a mention of needing to file proof of service. On 10/28, two months after the respondent was served, we received an email from the team at Lyd The Worker Bee stating that they had an important document we needed to file. Unfortunately, we had already driven to Riverside (300 miles from home) the same day for mediation and discovered that Lyd The Worker Bee never filed the document and never sent it to us so that we could file. We were turned away at mediation. Finally, we received copies of the proof of service on 11/4/19, more than two months after the respondent was served! After we learned that the proof of service was never filed, we immediately e-filed it but by then it was too late for our 11/7 court date, as they ask that it is submitted 5 days in advance. Even the Judge said it was unfortunate because the other parent was a no show and they were prepared to grant us the custody but the Proof of Service was not submitted timely. I am not a paralegal. I am not a lawyer. I trusted this company to help me and paid them a lot to do so. When I stopped taking their calls and allowing additional charges to occur, they didnt feel the need to mail me the proof of service legal documents that they had in their posession for 2 months. They never once mentioned in a voicemail or email that they had these documents and they weren't filed, not until the day of mediation. They never had a problem mailing my billing statements or other case documents to our home. I am hurt and upset that I fell victim to this but we live and we learn. The worst part, when confronting Lyd The Worker Bee, she stated "because of us helping you, you can have visitation. Dont seek revenge on us after helping you get here." However, no visitation was granted and visitation isn't going to help the children. We were seeking custody. Completely unprofessional response. I will be posting the email correspondence showing the interactions shortly. All in all, if you want to pay the money and not receive critical documents for 60 days, this is a great place to go! read more
