My biggest issue with this firm was the billing. The entire experience felt like I was being nickel-and-dimed at every opportunity. I would receive multiple phone calls covering the same information and then be billed for each conversation. There were also charges for seemingly random "file reviews," even when there had been no new communication or activity that I could see that would have necessitated reviewing my file again. It became extremely frustrating watching my retainer get eaten away by charges that, from my perspective, seemed unnecessary or repetitive. The customer service was also incredibly condescending. On more than one occasion, the paralegal actually laughed at me when I didn't understand something about the legal process. Isn't helping clients understand that process the entire reason people seek out a service like this in the first place? I never claimed to be a legal expert. That's why I hired them. Being made to feel stupid for asking questions was unprofessional and completely unnecessary. The final straw came when I decided I no longer needed their services. I still had a couple hundred dollars remaining on my retainer and was then charged an "account closing fee." I would genuinely love to understand why it costs a client money for a firm to simply stop working on their case. Unfortunately, the quality of the work did not make the billing any easier to accept. Legal documents they prepared for me contained multiple errors and typos that had to be corrected. When you are being billed for seemingly every interaction and file review, you would at least expect the documents you are paying for to be carefully prepared. By the end, the billing practices felt excessive and difficult to justify. I walked away feeling like maximizing billable charges was a bigger priority than providing efficient service and value to the client. I went to this company specifically because I wanted an affordable alternative to an attorney. Instead, I walked away feeling nickel-and-dimed at every opportunity. For a business that markets itself as helping people navigate legal matters without the expense of hiring a lawyer, I found the billing practices particularly disappointing. In my experience, what was supposed to be the cost-effective option ended up feeling like anything but. I would not recommend this company. Save your money. Look elsewhere. UPDATE: The response from Lydia is correct -- I never voiced my concerns out of fear of not getting quality work from their offices after the frequent charges and the way they handle customer service. The few times I did request clarification about something, I was charged for condescending phone calls that simply reiterated previous points without appropriate explanation. At one point, I was even charged for an email that simply contained a blank form that I already had access to. I'm sure they do keep detailed records. Unfortunately this attention to detail is not the same when it comes to basic typos or even customer service. I'm not disputing their records at all, so it's a moot point. I will, however, say that the number of minutes they charged me for, at times, did not match my phone records. I suppose they round up. And, no, I did not previously express concerns about their customer service or condescending attitudes. You are a business. You are taking people's money and providing them with a service. If I need to tell you how to provide that service appropriately and respectfully, I'll simply take my business elsewhere -- which is exactly what I did. I waited to write this review until I was sure I no longer needed any documentation from them because, again, I just didn't trust them. And, yes, again, Lydia is correct. I did not follow up about the remainder balance of my retainer. After their "closing fees" I believe I had about $12 left. You can keep it, I'm sure the time you took to write this response falls under one of the inordinate business fees. Finally, she is correct -- I always ended correspondence with appreciation for their work. That's basic human kindness and a professional and appropriate way to deal with a business transaction. Did this business provide a service? Yes. So, I thanked them for their efforts. Did they do it well? No. So, here we are. read more

I originally left a positive review because I appreciated the assistance I received during my custody case. Unfortunately, my experience completely changed once I experienced temporary financial hardship and was unable to immediately pay the remaining balance. Despite communicating through email that I fully intended to pay, the process server from Cal Chases who was hired by the company repeatedly called my workplace five times in a row regarding the debt to the point that my manager had to ask him to stop repeatedly calling the store asking for me and disrupting employees. I personally informed him that I would meet him outside after my shift ended at 4:00 PM. Instead, he entered my workplace at approximately 3:15 PM before my shift ended and went through the aisles of the store loudly yelling my full name and "stop hiding and pay your bills" in front of employees, customers, and management. For a company willing to publicly humiliate a working single mother over a few hundred dollars that was already being addressed, the behavior displayed was beyond unprofessional and completely lacking basic human decency. The entire incident was embarrassing, disruptive, witnessed by multiple employees, and captured on store security cameras. His conduct will be reported. The balance of $400 has now been paid in full. Hopefully it was worth handling the situation this way. You guys must be struggling in business to sue someone for kind of money & pay for a person to serve me. Single parents that don't make much money beware they will have you harassed at your job to be served. read more

I have been in real estate for 25 years. I have never met anyone that takes their job so seriously. I don't care about other people that had bad experiences. Everyone has a bad experience this business. But there is no one I would trust to help me or my clients to help with the most difficult processes in dealing with probate and trusts. If you want an expert, look no further. I would be glad to speak to anyone going through this process, and explain the amazing effort Lydia puts into her business. I would recommend Lydia every day of the week , and 5 times on Saturday. read more

From the moment I contacted Lydia she was more than patient, understanding and willing to answer any questions I had, even without signing a contract. We finally got our trusts completed (a year later- at no fault of Lydia.... Life happened and I didn't follow thru). It was quick, explained to us very easily by a lawyer and we are completely satisfied! The cost is straight forward with no hidden fees. She is flexible with scheduling to meet the clients needs and is extremely friendly and communicative. I would highly recommend!!! Personally, we are having both our parents use Lydia for their trusts. read more

My husband and I recently welcomed our daughter into this world. One of the first things we wanted to get done was set up a trust, living will and advanced directive. I interviewed a number of Law firms and ultimately settled on Lydia and Dan. They were very easy to work with and they made the process a seamless as possible. We had an initial consult with Lydia to talk about pricing and timing. She also did our initial intake meeting once we decided to proceed, but realize that we had more questions that needed needed to be directed at a lawyer, so Dan met with us to talk through the details of the advanced directive which put our minds at ease. We drove to their office in Upland to sign and notarize relevant documents. They prepped all the documents and walked us through all the documents just 90 minutes. We did not feel rushed, just impressed with the efficiency and thoroughness. Thank you for your help! read more

Did a quick search for family law lawyers and came across Lyd the Worker Bee. I sent a message and from that moment on this was the BEST experience ever. Sarah was not only very communicative she also has the best way of making you feel like you are taking to a friend. She was realistic, straightforward and responsive ~ all amazing things you want in someone who is preparing the paperwork that can be life changing. There is a lawyer she confers with to ensure all legality and the best approach when dealing with these types of sensitive situations. Luckily my issue was dealt with and didn't have to drag out beyond paperwork and both parties agreeing. Amazing service, reasonably priced and I am a happy customer! Hopefully I never have to use this service again yet if I do I will be calling Lyd the Worker Bee again! read more

Lyd The Worker Bee - Great location - Legal Services Near Me - Upland, California

I had to come back and leave a review, I was charged $250 for nothing on the last payment I made. Yes, they worked with me making payments as they knew I was not working. But in the end they left me high and dry with no answers only a text saying she was driving as usual. I never got my money back and the lawyer that helped me in my case through Lydia was no help she 1 dresses unprofessional 2 didn't listen to our phone call because she got many things wrong to where I ended up speaking for myself in court when me paying was for representation. read more

I found this place through yelp and so happy I did! They have been helping me with my case from filing the correct papers to everything needed. Everyone communicates with you by email and phone calls. They always make time available to speak with you if ever in doubt. The whole team is a gem and so blessed to work with them! I love how thorough they are with every detail to truly help you find the guidance you need. I have no complains as I needed assistance with an ongoing custody/visitation case and with their magic- I feel so relieved. They were great when it came to the paperwork I needed done for my case. I also used an attorney through them and was Honeslty the biggest mistake we get to court and she basically sat there and did nothing I couldn't do if I would've know I would've took my business elsewhere. I haven't spoke with the company since court day Couples months later (today) I get an "invoice" with racked up unnecessary charges from them trying to reach out and review my paperwork when I haven't asked for any of it but charging me to get my business back it's ridiculous. I'd definitely look elsewhere unless u want to be charged for unnecessary charges when they say one thing and this happens and becomes another. read more

I've been a client of Lyd The Worker Bee for over two years. Lyd and her team (Debbie and Sarah) are professional, efficient, and reliable; however, the reputation that precedes these qualities is Lyd's value of compassion. This is a business of "heart work" and care. In a very challenging time in my life, Lyd and her team provided sound support and guidance to proceed with my legal documents. I'm appreciative of Yelp as a tool to help determine which businesses that provide excellent services (which is how I found Lyd). My experience has been professional, confidential, and patient and I am grateful to have been blessed with the work from Lyd. She was able to amend this, she assisted me hiring both a PI and process server to complete to necessary tasks. Any issues that arouse, Sarah had a solution to. The company was also very transparent with prices, and the invoices sent were clear as to what tasks the money was going towards. Very affordable in my opinion. I would not recommend. I was not financially capable for any true legal help, and found Lyd and Debra. I requested to at the least to help with my supplemental declaration. I've supplied my declaration and timeline and what information was necessary.
