John himself was extremely polite and professional and gave me a very fair price. On the day of the job, it was 98 degrees with no breeze, completely miserable. John arrived at the agreed upon time and had one helper with him. Immediately, I realized that I neglected to mention the location of the greenhouse and the fact that a hill would be involved. It truly skipped my mind, and I was open to a revised price. John did not even flinch and said, "No problem, we'll handle it." As the day progressed, the heat became a real challenge. After a midday trip to the landfill to empty his trailer, his helper did not return. John finished the job himself, which was a monumental task. Around 6 p.m., it began to storm. I went outside and offered the option for John to finish another day. He declined and kept moving through the downpour. Around 7:30 pm, the skies cleared, and the job was done. It was completed perfectly; there was no sign of the greenhouse not even one screw. I can tell you there were about 10,000 screws in that thing because I built it myself. I was truly impressed with John beyond words, and how he represented his company. In a world where businesses cut corners to make a dollar, John has restored my faith in doing it the right way. They were the only ones that had to come out to give us a quote, all others could do it over e-mail as most do it by the square feet of your home. I believe Splish Splash does as well as I told by Jackie in person I wasn't quite positive of our square feet, but she said she would adjust the quote for the correct square footage. I think they want to come out to give you the quote so they can be nice and friendly and reel you in. That's fine, but do your homework. As I did not use them, my review is on the cost. Cost goes along with the job and customer service, and I contacted 6 companies, all of which had great yelp, google, and BBB reviews, including SS. I'm not sure what high horse SS thinks they are on, but they were outrageously more expensive than the others. Keep in mind this is for the size of our home, but one was below $200, the remaining four were in the low $200s, and Splish Splash was above $350. I'm sure they do a fine job, but you can get great customer service and a great job cleaning your home (as evidence by the other companies reviews) with the industries average cost companies. What they did for me were roof repairs on about a 10 year home. The real reason Southern Star should be a must call for homeowners is I have solar panels. There was some roof damage, caused by squirrels, that precipitated us needing roof repairs. Well, if you have a solar array on your home just getting someone to just look at it has its challenges. Southern Star was the only company I got a response. The only one out of 5. Sure there are logistics to work through when you have solar panels. At the end of the day, the quote given was very reasonable and they were able to do the necessary repairs ASAP. Just surprises all around. If you need repairs on your roof, you should not hesitate to put Southern Star at the top. They are truly super stars in a business that may not have the best of reputations. Thanks to you all.

The estimate was scheduled promptly and the estimator Rhett was friendly and professional. Their estimate was in the middle of the 3 we received, but $2,000 higher than the roofing company we hired to install our new roof. When I texted Rhett to tell him we had gone with a roofing company whose estimate was more budget friendly for us, within moments I received a hard sell text telling me how the brand of shingles they used were far superior to any other brand of shingles out there and that I needed to consider that in making my decision. Believe me since this was the first new roof on my house in 25+ years I did my research on shingle brands and didn't choose a roofing company using some bargain basement brand of shingles! That $2,000 we saved is now more money that we are able to spend on other needed house projects.
