I left salon 30 mins ago and my daughter (11) told me she was told by nail tech that she needed to wax her eyebrows to look better. She's 11. My daughter was really excited to get her nails down and now instead is left feeling insecure about her looks (she has very full thick eyebrows) because of this comment. She literally began sobbing as we left salon. I'm not sure and adult would make a comment about a child's appearance in the first place but even though my service was fine now I wouldn't want to bring my child back to this business. read more

I'm diabetic with horribly sensitive and painful feet due to neuropathy, so I always dead getting my toenails done. I am also disabled and unable to bend over enough to properly care for my feet, so it's pretty embarrassing. The ladies here were very friendly and kind, and were very careful not to hurt or cut me. They also used new emery/buffers, unlike other salons which use the SAME ones on everybody (unhygienic, and probably illegal...and a great way to get a nail fungus). I really enjoyed the massage, it felt fantastic with my poor circulation. I'm very very happy, and will definitely be back. Thanks to you, I can actually wear shoes without pain again...and my feet are no longer embarrassing. read more

This place is awesome. The staff is very warm and friendly. The first time I came in, I had a really specific design in mind, and the nail tech took the time to plot it out with me first, then paused several times during the painting to ask if I was happy with how it looked. Today, I brought my teenage daughters, who got manis while I got shellac. Both of the techs working with my kids were super patient. The girls were able to get the little unique designs they picked out online (kitty and alien) and their nails are so cute. My nails are gorgeous. LV has the biggest selection of colors I've seen in Derby. They even have powder colors and loose glitter. And my nail tech was a very nice, laid back person, so it felt more like a luxury experience, rather than another chore to check off my list. Super happy. Will be back! read more

Went to get a fill-in and I also had a broken nail. I should've followed my first thought to take the acrylic off of my nail myself! She literally stabbed me through my natural nail trying to take the acrylic off. She went through my actual finger nail!! When she put the tip on, she cut it too short and asked me to keep it that way. I said no fix it. I ended up with lumpy nails, sloppy polish and the replaced nail is crooked! I paid $55 to be tortured!!! read more

Decided to treat myself to an ever so rare manicure and chose LV Nails of Derby. Chose 5 shellac colors for Fifty Shades theme without any decals or artwork etc just straight polish. Their sign said $15 for classic and $20 for special. They charged me THIRTY dollars!!! I will NEVER go back and will tell anyone to stay away. Let's just pray it lasts TWO weeks as stated for that price. read more

I have been here a few times and always had a really good experience. The ladies are always really friendly and kind and do a great job. I went in today, however, for a shellac manicure, and left disappointed. I had just recently taken off acrylic nails from about a week before, and they left ridges on my nails. The nail tech wanted to get them drilled off, which I completely understood, but when the ridges wouldn't budge, she kept drilling and drilling. This was at the base of my nail close to my nail bed, and she drilled so much that I had bruises, my nail was thin, and I was hurting. I told her multiple times that it hurt, and even pulled my hand back out of immediate reaction. She continued and insisted that she wanted to get off the ridges. Later on, she was drilling my cuticles, and cut me twice, to which I bled. She luckily had neosporin, but I was more worried about the tools now being contaminated or my nail possibly being infected. The lady was so so sweet and I feel bad that I even have to write a negative review like this, but I think that this is probably a health and safety issue that you should be forewarned about before going here. I am sure that this was just a one time experience, but I would hope that no one else has the same experience as me. I know that LV is a great place, so I am hopeful this doesn't happen to anyone else. Be safe out there! read more

I went in being up front about my time limitations. I know how long a pedicure takes and they estimated a 10 minute wait which was the most I could afford to initiate the beginning of service. I reassured them if they didn't have time I could come back a different day. After 15 minutes I was put in a chair to soak. 25 minutes later they finally started on my feet. I was livid as I had told them I had a family event and I was put into water to hold me there. I kept trying to ask when I could be started and they kept saying one more minute. A 40 minute wait is NOWHERE close to what I was told even if the girl who did my feet was very kind. Be up front and don't just be about locking down the next service. I won't be back. read more

I absolutely love this place! Jenny and the girls take amazing care of me every single time I come in. She always finds a way to fit me I even when I call last minute for an appointment. I've even come in with a broken nail and it was fixed at no charge! Customer service is definitely a priority to these girls and it shows!!! I get compliments on my nails CONSTANTLY!!! Jenny and the girls have always been friendly and expedient when I go to LV and I am almost always a 'walk-in'. If I decide to go in as a 'walk-in' client, I go right when they open on Saturday morning. I certainly never assume that I will be helped upon immediately walking in at any time after 9:30 a.m. on a weekend- unless I have an appointment. This type of business thrives on walk-ins. Also, I have always understood Sundays to be by 'appointment only', so I have never gone in on a Sunday. I decided to start going to LV when one day I walked into a nail salon (also in Derby) and was told flat out they did not have anyone who would do an eyebrow wax. I took my business elsewhere (to LV Nails) and I have never been turned down for service since. read more
