Delicious pork tamales with tasty salsas. Extremely friendly folks running the restaurant. I couldn't be happier with this place!

Can only speak to their takeout, not dine-in, but we certainly tried out a variety of dishes!…read more Location is pretty convenient, just outside Costco. You finish shopping and there's Fiesta Charra if you're hungry. We got the following: - chicken taco salad: there was very little of the salad, rice, and beans, but heaps of shredded chicken - poblano chicken: this was a hit with the group. The chicken was cut in tiny strips, was well cooked and seasoned. Tasty! - chicken quesadilla: flavorful! Was meant for the kids but the adults enjoyed it too - chicken enchiladas: covered in a tasty sauce, very comforting. - shrimp Diablo: they were out of the tilapia, so we got the shrimp instead. This was the other hit of the night! The sauce was hot and delicious. - there were plenty of sides to go around, rice, beans, lettuce, salsa, though we could have done with more chips Overall, I'd recommend when you're craving Mexican American cuisine!

All the avocado slices were bad, and because I had mixed everything together, the whole platter was affected. I called and spoke with a waiter named Eduardo. Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, he laughed and said, "It was just avocado." I explained that it was not just the avocado because I had already mixed everything together. His response and attitude were very unprofessional. Very disappointed, especially for my first experience. I expected better food quality and customer service.

This place is the real deal! The Carna Asada tastes like it was right off a charcoal grill. Yum!…read moreThe birria tacos were unlike any other place. The broth had a wonderful thickness and so much flavor. I almost wanted to drink it straight out of the bowl. The burritos were filled and delicious. They had an elote cart featured tonight. It was out of this world! One of the waite staff was so very kind. The restaurant itself may look a bit dated or worn but trust me the food totally makes up for it. Run don't walk to eat at this place!

DATE & TIME: August 9, 2026 @ 3:00pm…read more WAIT (how busy): No wait, only a few tables of patrons. AMBIANCE: It is located in a small strip mall o. The end, decor matches the authenticity of the cuisine, music was at an appropriate level. CLEANLINESS: CUSTOMER SPACES (lobby, seating): Appeared clean BATHROOMS: Did not use SERVICE AREAS (kitchen, behind counters): Did not see. STAFF: SERVER: Younger male. Very nice, was attentive, pleasant. HOST/HOSTESS: She was very friendly. OTHER (manager, buser, bartender): Did not have any other interactions. SERVICE: Service was good, server was very nice with any questions we had. *** What we didn't appreciate was when it was time to pay the bill, the server brings out the handheld payment tool (like a lot of restaurants use now), server holds the tool so my husband can see and stares at the tool, watching my husband choose what tip amount etc. It automatically defaults to a 20% tip and then increases from there for tip choices!! We felt very pressured and awkward with this. We like to take our time and figure out how much we want to leave based on service not feel "pushed" into choosing one of the pre chosen percentage amounts (especially if they default to a minimum of 20%)!!! The server needs to leave the tool at the table walk away or stand farther back so the customer can privately pay. FOOD &/or BEVERAGE: Birria Taco Dinner TASTE: tacos were very good, flavors of the meat was amazing and that dipping sauce was so good! Beans and rice were basic (nothing different than other places). SIZE: average PRICE: $15.99 Chimichanga TASTE: chicken meat was very flavorful, overall was a very delicious chimichanga. SIZE: average PRICE: $16.99 Basic Burrito TASTE: ground meat was very flavorful, asked for only meat and cheese (normally comes with beans and rice inside) and it had a small amount of beans inside :(. Overall was a delicious basic burrito. Note that this burrito is served dry not wet. SIZE: average PRICE: $9.99 Burrito Chaparrito TASTE: shredded beef was very flavorful, asked for little beans but seemed like the normal amount, also has rice topped with cheese (this is not a wet burrito). Overall was a very good BUT this is the same as the basic burrito except you get cheese on top of this one (which costs you an extra $8.00!!), if my husband would have known that, he would have just done the basic burrito too! SIZE: average PRICE: $17.99 OVERALL THOUGHTS: Paid $80 for our family of four. Food is very good. Staff were very kind. Didn't appreciate the check paying experience (full explanation under service). WOULD I RETURN? Possibly, but we would not make a special trip.

Barrio Taco We…read morestopped at Barrio Taco for lunch on our way from Chicago to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada, using it as our midpoint break on a long drive. And honestly, it did the job. The food was okay. I have definitely had better tacos, so this was not exactly a "write home about it" meal, but for a college town and a convenient stop along the road, it was perfectly decent. They have a good selection of tacos and plenty of choices, although figuring out exactly what to order can feel like a small decision-making exercise. Tacos? Bowl? Which fillings? Which toppings? Suddenly lunch requires a strategy meeting! They also seemed to have a pretty good selection of beers and cocktails, which added to the upbeat atmosphere. The space itself is large and lively, with a fun, happy energy that works well for a casual meal. Cleanliness, however, could use some attention. The floor was noticeably sticky, which is never quite the ambiance anyone is hoping for with lunch. Overall, Barrio Taco is a good casual stop, especially if you are passing through the area or looking for a lively place with lots of choices. The food was fine, the atmosphere was fun, and it was a convenient place to break up a long road trip. Not a destination meal for me, but definitely an acceptable pit stop.

I'll be honest, I was a little disappointed with my experience at this barrios location. The…read moreservice was great, but the ambiance and food were just ok. I got two "build your own" tacos. For meats, I picked the chorizo + black beans & the seasoned pulled chicken. I will say it was fun to build my own & pick all the toppings I wanted. The food quality was just ok. I was a bit disappointed by the flavor (was expecting more flavor and more tender meat). The toppings were ok, but didn't really blow me away either. The pineapple salsa was a bit overpowering & it all blended together a bit too much. I will say these were my choices - but I felt quality and taste could've been better. Not just from an "authentic street taco" perspective, but also for a "fusion" / new American taco joint perspective. I did try the "French dip" taco from the el jefe menu and it was great! The barbacoa was pretty good too. And the salsa + guac was really good. Ambiance was ok. It felt like it needed to be refreshed a bit inside & we were a bit cold by the door. Overall, I had an ok experience. Fun to build tacos from scratch, but was a bit disappointed by the food quality. Price was great though.
