I took my mom to a little treatment on a Tuesday for their Mon-Wed sale. Initially everything went well, until the wife of the owner accidentally cut into my toe (i wasn't bleeding but painful enough that I shouted out "ouch") She didn't even realize and did not bother to apologize. All she did was applying more pressure with mote cuticle oil (which caused another "ouch" of course). At the end what bothers me was she had the guts to ask for tips lol! Although my mom, on the other hand, was very satisfied with their services and attention to detail on her stubborn dead skins. I also do like their little perks like the hot stone massage that comes with the pedicure and little upper back massage. if not for the incident, would have given them a four stars lol. read more

The manicurists are professional and accommodating. The management is rude. The manager heatedly argued with another customer when I was getting a pedicure. It was very uncomfortable. I had requested a regular manicure as well, but after my pedicure, I was snapped at and told that told they didn't have time for me that day. I used to like this place until they were taken over by new management. Over priced. They did a terrible job on my gel extensions .. one popped off and others lifted before 2 weeks. Also the surface of the polish looked messed up. In addition they seem understaffed - I have seen people turned away or they are rushing. The good: The manicurists are very nice and do a nice job. I also enjoyed that they play movies to keep you entertained. The bad: They charge $5 to remove a gel manicure if you did not receive the last one there. I've been to many different nail salons and I have NEVER been charged that fee. I found that to be a complete rip-off. Also, the prices are much higher than they should be. At this salon, a gel manicure is $35 when many places in the surrounding area charge $25 or $30. I assume they are charging extra because they use hot stones and hand warmers. They tried to put my hands in an electronic hand warmer which was very close to giving me a burn. It was unpleasant and I had no interest in that service. I'd rather pay $25-$30 for a manicure and $20-$25 for a pedicure than pay an extra $10-$15 for unnecessary hand-warming or hot stones. The hot stones during the pedicure were rushed and not relaxing at all, not worth the extra $. I'd be very happy to go back if the prices were better since the staff did a good job and were very pleasant. read more

I have been going to Luxy since it opened. The staff is kind and gentle. I can relax watching a movie while getting my nails done. The pedicure is the best ever with hot stones. The manicures can be with or without paraffin, gels, wraps, regular polish. Service is great. My eyebrows never looked this good. I also love the neck massage while my manicure is drying. Best salon I've been to! When you schedule an appointment, you don't wait , they see you right away. There are plenty of colors , and everyone is very nice. There is a brief , complimentary hot stone massage after every manicure! I broke one of my tips and they put a new one on without charging me. The hot stone rub beneath the back and front of my shirt was inappropriate. I don't care what anyone else says on here - do not place your hands on someone else's body. Period.  I did not ask for a hot stone down the front of my shirt.  Especially not by someone from the opposite sex, a stranger.  If I did, I would have gone to a masseuse. All the power to you if you want that done - I didn't. 1) It was my first time here. When the hot stone was first taken out, I only said "yes" since owner was only rubbing my back on the outside of my shirt.  But then he began rubbing underneath my shirt, picking up my bra straps.  2) He then proceeded to rub down the front of my shirt as well, picking up both my shirt and strap. So inappropriate I felt violated. Some here will say you should have said something, but it all happened so fast and I was too shocked to speak up. Never coming back. And to the owners:  tell people exactly what you're going to do to them before proceeding to touch them. read more

I have not had my brows "professionally" waxed since before COVID hit in 2020. I went to Luxy today and asked the owner to just clean up my brows - meaning just wax the stray hairs below and above and to not touch between my brows. She thinned them to half their original width, made them uneven (one higher than the other) and waxed between them. She asked me how I liked them and I said "too thin." She said "just clean up." When I went to pay and asked how much she said "$10" - when I handed her my card she asked "any more?" I said "no - just $10." She practically threw the card at me and started speaking under her breath. I left without saying another word. That's ok. You're a business owner. If you can afford to do what you want to do and not what the customer asks you to do, you will lose customers, as we have other options. And no, tipping is to show appreciation for good service, not to placate you for poor service. I won't return. Sad too, because she has one of the best pedicurists in Bedminster. read more

I've been coming here for years and over time there has been a decline in the services they provide. They've changed staff and I've noticed they are quicker to get rid of you if you're paying for a manicure opposed to dropping $100 on other services. Last time I went, I was not greeted nor asked what I wanted. I waited 20 minutes until someone offered me a seat where I waited an additional 10 minutes before the manicurist came over and began my manicure. She rushed and was a bit rude. She then began to rush me out of my seat so they could accommodate other clients who dropped 80+ $ on services. I left feeling disappointed as I have tried to be reasonable and understanding when they're busy. However, I don't think that is any reason to treat clients this way especially those that have been coming there for years. Sorry, but I won't be coming back. read more

Okay so, I normally love this place for my pedicures and waxing but I recently got a full set of gel nails for the first time there and 5 days later they were all lifting. I'm away at college so i could not go back to get them fixed. I got annoyed and decided to take them off and with one little lift they all came off. For $60 this is terrible quality!!! i will not be getting a full set here ever again. read more

I know most spa pedicures are around 25$. But the price here is 55. I thought it was high at first but they include a 2 paraffin wraps and a long massage and then another massage with hot stones!?!! How awesome! Usually if you get these services added on at other salons it would be around 70. And they make sure each time is consistent with the massages by using a timer!!
