This place is great! I went to another nail salon not far from here and they refused and said they are appointment only.. I immediately call the closest place because it was late on a Saturday. With no hesitation they said yes you can come now. I walked in and the had on two flat screens and upbeat music playing softly in the background. I was seated promptly and offered wine or drinks! ;-) They're menu offered every service you can imagine! I was very impressed. I'm visiting from out of state so I'm always leery of new nail salons. But this place really sets the bar high!! Update: My pedicure was below average I had to instruct on how to do callus removal.. Toes look ok...Btw I'm a Cosmetology Instructor and have been licensed for 25+ years ... I'm crossing my fingers on my fill-in!! Two hours later... I must say my nails were a wreck when I walked in... BUT... Hollywood, the guy who did my nails is AMAZING!! I will be back! Best nails in a long time! read more

I have been going there for over a year. I had a tech who did excellent work for me adding their own design without extra charge. Leaving me wanting to give a generous tip.Very pleasant and easy to engage with. But that person left and I no longer feel as comfortable going there. I've had 3 different techs since and only one of them was AT ALL personable and customer friendly. The last tech I had was so unfriendly. No conversation at all. Seemed like they hated dealing with people at all. I left a tip but didn't feel good about it and hopefully I won't get that person again. That person needs to find another line of work. Im going back one more time. If its no different then im moving on. They're not getting any more of my money. read more

Horrible! The woman could not be disinterested any less... wow. And expensive for a mediocre manicure. Why do Altoona women come here!??

My experience here was horrible. The guy who did my nails was sloppy and left paint ALL over my nails. He did horrible and did this in 15 minutes because he was watching football. I will not be coming back here. read more

An absolute nightmare of a nail salon. If you're looking for a uncleanly, unprofessional, sloppy nail look, this is your place. Not only did they close 2 hours early mid appointment, they also told me to come in the next day to finish the set. If I could give 0 stars, I would. read more

This is quite literally the worst experience I ever had at a nail salon. Way too over priced for an experience I'll never forget in the worst way possible. The paint is around my toes and not smooth. I'm still in shock and I would NOT recommend going here! read more

Horrible experience. I've been here several times before and after the last time said never again. I should've totally listened to myself. One more time I thought. And now I'm completely unsatisfied. Upon entering I'm not greeted at all. I sign in and go pick a color. I stood back at the front desk for several minutes before being spoken too. Start with pedicure. That was ok. Although I think I got jipped on the services provided as compared to the description and what I paid for. The gentleman that did my nails was so impersonal. He never spoke. His technique was extremely rough. My fingers actually hurt. He left jagged edges when filing. He was so careless when putting on polish, it's all over my fingers. He never cleaned it off. He was more concerned about getting to the next customer. I wanted my eyebrows waxed but after that alone this place did not deserve any more of my money. read more

I will NEVER go back to this salon. First it's very dirty, don't think they clean it very often. I had an appointment for a mani/pedi at 5:00. Pedi started out good but I was still in the chair at 6:30! I had to ask is anyone finishing my toes? They were working on girls that came in after me. No one wanted to do my manicure. The girls were very rude. They talk about you in Chinese. Very unprofessional. I never left there until 9:00, 4 hours later! Very very rude staff! Sue Miller read more

Do not go here! I went for a waxing and came out with skin missing and burnt. They didn't give me knew paper on the bed either,it was all crumbled from the person before me laying on it. They didn't pluck any of the hairs left behind. Paying was impossible and sat there for about 30mins because the machine wouldn't work. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Dirty, not friendly, rough treatment during pedicure, I'd be suprised if they are in compliance with things when it comes to sanitary. A junker of a place. I've been to 15 different places in my time and I'd rate them the lowest I've ever been to. read more

Went here to get a manicure and the employee was so rough, also left nail polish all over the sides of my finger. Thought I would try them again, this time getting a pedicure. Staff was very rude. I called and asked when they were open until to come in for a pedicure. They told me the time. I arrived 45 minutes before they were closing and as soon as I walk in they tell me they are closed, even though I JUST called 10 minutes prior. Horrible customer service. read more

Love this place .. Have been going here for years .. The staff is awesome and always friendly .. it's so clean , wouldn't go anywhere else .. best place in Altoona read more

this place does very poor work. For Christmas, my mom gave me a gift certificate so she and I went together. The guy that I had, Henry, was surly and not friendly. Furthermore, during the massages he did not use any pressure, and only added slightly more pressure after I asked him several times. I got a french gel manicure. It has been 48 hours since I got it, and already three of my nails are chipped, which I wasn't even aware was possible with gel nails, and I usually get them quite often. Also, the entire place smelled like cigarette smoke, which made me sick. Overall, not a great experience. t read more

Alright. Here are my own thoughts. Thinks I do (did) and things I wish I didn't do, from my own experiences. I Do: 1) ask for Amy when when getting a pedicure! She's the bomb at massages!!! I don't: 1) drink from the cups. They are lightly (I'm being modest) rinsed in between uses, and truthfully I doubt are ever thoroughly cleaned. Gross. I drank from them twice before seeing this 'cleaning' and instantly felt sick to my stomach. 2) stick my hands in the their wax. Everyone sticks their hands in that wax...I'll let just think about that. That's not sanitary. Although the wax for the pedicure is different, and it looks like they just dip a little cup in, put the wax in bags and use it that-awesome! That's how it should be done in my opinion! 3) unfortunately not all the workers are as excited to be working as others. The younger man was in such a rush to leave that he wrapped my nails in alcohol instead of acetone. ‍ Also, in that same experience the new person doing my nails went out to smoke a cigarette while my nails were soaking in acetone. So I had to sit and smell the cigarette on his breath for the remainder of my time that day. In my opinion, that is just very unprofessional. All in all, I no longer go here. I so wish I could because Amy is a massage magician, and I really like the salon itself. It's very nice!!! Hopefully they are able to read this as constructive criticism, fix these things and then I will go back, because I would really like to!! read more

I was anxious to try luxury nails and was sadly disappointed. My manicure was awful. .., it was very sloppy but I had to go to work so I had to leave with it the way it was I will never go back the people we're not very nice either just over all disappointed. There are so many nail salons in Altoona these people need to step it up read more

The pedicure ($40) was good and done by Ivy. I will definitely go back again for that. However, my nails is a different story. I'm not sure who did them, John maybe?? They never tell you their name. I think the problem with most nail salons is the "language barrier". I cannot understand one word these people speak. I try to listen very carefully and yes, I ask them to repeat what they are saying. If they would stop mumbling or speaking so fast, I might be able to understand them. I knew what I wanted when I walked in, but when it was time to do my nails, I was so confused and walked out spending $50 for something I did not want. Be careful. On top of that... this man was so rough, I still have cuts on the tips of my fingers from the nail file he was using. In fact, he cut me so badly i was bleeding. He never stopped and continued and then threw the bloody nail file in his drawer. BIG SANITARY NO NO!!! read more

Well, I should've trusted my instincts...called a few days prior to kindly advise them that myself and a friend would like to make an appointment for a pedicure each and a manicure for me. Gentleman with a creepy voice asked me a time and name, then hung up abruptly. Hence, I was unable to even ask about the services, but being a decent human, thought I'd give it a shot. Show up early, taken late, no greeting by anyone of course. Choose a color, it leaks on towel, they use the towel anyhow. Pedicure was actually decent. Although my friend asked for one thing, got another. Manicure was a complete disaster. Looks like a children's manicure. Showed them a few pictures of what I wanted and three employees huddled around and shook their heads. The polish was clearly old and dried out, so she really had to slather it on. Also, she came along with clippers and hacked off all of my natural nails - never considering the length or shape I wanted. Then added a hideous blue upside down baby foot on the ring finger of one hand then the middle finger of the other...?? Am I missing something here? Oh a cool $95 later I was on my way. Now I have to stare at these gems while trying to push out a baby next week. Damn it. read more
