First Visit: I went to Hot Nails for a dip acrylic set. The store is very clean and following all covid-19 protocols. I felt very safe and comfortable, everyone was wearing a mask. Customer service is very friendly and I had good talks with Jenny and Kathy. My nails were given a lot of detailed attention. There is soooo much to choose from for your colour, stickers, gems, and designs. I showed a couple inspiration pictures and the results are even better than what I wanted. Picture speaks for itself. My nails have been on for 3 weeks with no lift, no gems missing, no chips, perfect condition. I'll be back for sure

The Nail Boutique is a relatively compact nail salon that still manages to squeeze in all the…read moreamenities for manicures and pedicures. Note: if you pay in cash they give you 10% off after tax. I recently visited on a weekday evening for a colour change ($12), and they had a fairly comprehensive selection of nail polishes all efficiently displayed in a tall and narrow shelf. In terms of neutrals there was plenty for me to choose from, although the ones sitting on the very bottom shelf seemed old and visibly separating out. I happened to choose a colour that was an O.P.I "Infinite Shine 2", and was told it would cost me an additional $2 because of this polish's superior quality and shine. So, my colour change was now $14. The quality of the nail polish application was OK, but I'm not sure if the "Infinite Shine" nail polish was thicker and therefore more difficult to work with as I found that the person painting my nails was painting thick layers and not painting all the way to the base of my nail, leaving a fairly visible gap of bare nail. I asked whether she was painting one or two coats as I was hoping she would be able to fix this "gap", and she initially said one coat but I guess after I asked she proceeded to paint two coats to correct the problem (sort of). I appreciated the effort, though there are still gaps and inconsistencies. Maybe it was end-of-day and dark outside, and she could not see my nails clearly? It took over half an hour to dry my nails properly! Initially after 20 minutes she came around to check on me and said that I was good to go but had to be very careful. Not taking any chances, I asked if I could stay a little longer and continued drying my nails. After 10 more minutes I inquired again as to whether my nails were ready and it apparently needed another 5 minutes. This felt like a long time to dry my nails, possibly because the two coats of nail polish were so thick. Thankfully, they were playing Marie Kondo on Netflix which was pretty entertaining. Given that it was the end of day, staff were busily tidying up the shop before closing. However, no one really cared to help me put on and zip-up my coat before I left, so unfortunately service did not feel as stellar as other nail salons I've been to. Eventually the manager did notice and offered to help, but at that point I was already all zipped up and ready to go. Overall, I do see myself going back to the Nail Boutique for convenient nail colour changes, as the space is neat and clean, they have a good selection of colours, and the service is pleasant enough.

She sighed at me and looked around in annoyance and rudeness when I asked if I could take a peek to see if the nails are the same length before she started painted them. She had the guts to tell me that they were the same length without even comparing them. I put them side by side and said look, the ones from the right hand are much longer. She then proceeded to start filing to fix them a little better. Then, I asked if she could let me know when she would fix the corners because they were too square (so sharp they could cut). If I remember correctly, she sighed and said "let me finish my job"...and it just went downhill from there. It was clear that she was exhausted from her day of work, before she even start with me, and just wanted to get it over with. She didn't even clean my nails with the cuticle pusher or the clipper and proceeded to put the fake nail and was hurrying to slap the colour on top. On my ring finger's nail, she tried to cut the frozen cuticle AFTER she applied the polish and although it scratched the side, she just put the top coat on and asked me to cure it in the machine. I couldn't believe she didn't even attempt to fix her mistake. When I noticed how uninterested she was (as I would ask how her day went and she wouldn't reply, and I would thank her on multiple occasions and make remarks on how pretty they look when in fact they looked awful, she would still not reply). On top of it all, what bothered me the most is how crooked the nails were in the end, and yet, she couldn't have cared less. When I asked her to fix it politely (i asked if she could and if she couldn't, it was totally okay), she filed here and there and stopped. At that point I was too sad and decided to take the nail file and do it myself. I paid $75 + I gave her a $4 tip just because I felt like it's the right thing to do, but inside I feel very saddened by this experience. I've never been this mistreated in a nail salon and I've been to MANY. I've seen nail technicians who have done a bad job but NEVER did I have to take the nail file and do it myself and she just got up, took her stuff and left. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed because I was looking forward to paint them for a long time. I hope she realizes how rude she was and how unfortunate it is for her because the team seemed fun and nice. It was her who simply didn't care.

The nail technician (a kitten with a halo tattooed on her left arm) did not scrub my feet or use any nail tools other than a nail clipper. When I asked if my feet were going to be scrubbed, she had the audacity to tell me, "I already did it, you must have forgotten."Absolutely ridiculous! I know what was and wasn't done to my own feet, and that response was completely unacceptable. My daughter also got a manicure, and the results were just as disappointing. Her pink nails were poorly painted, her cuticles were not done, and there was an excessive amount of glue left on her fingers. The lack of effort, attention to detail, and professionalism was unacceptable. Customers pay for a service and deserve to receive what they paid for, not be dismissed when they speak up about poor-quality work. This location seriously needs to reevaluate its staff and the quality of its services. There is no point in running a business if the employees are unwilling to do their jobs properly. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and I will not be returning.

All of my nails turned white after the polish chipped off. They told me it was due to expired nail polish. Can you imagine - new salon/expired nail polish?? Furthermore, I just noticed on their receipt that they apply sales tax to your tips too, which is totally ILLEGAL!!! I will call & let them know. It better be corrected or my next call will be to CRA. The most disturbing fact was she used the same set of instruments on my hand nails, as she used during my pedicure. I also observed that at the end she scrubbed them under running water for about 5 seconds & put them back in her container. The instruments were not taken for sterilization and will be likely used on the next customer. Seeing all this killed all of my trust in them!
