We were supposed to get 4 all together but only managed to get 2. One server, Ignacio, wasn't our server but he was very attentive to us and jumped in when our server couldn't be seen. We asked for another round of forks and our server, Mr. Grumpypants, told us he couldn't give us new forks . What buffet doesn't give out fresh forks? But other than that, we enjoyed our selves. Service has always been somewhat inconsistent, but our last two visits were especially disappointing. During our most recent visit, we were seated and waited nearly 15 minutes without a single employee acknowledging us. No one greeted us, offered water, or even let us know they'd be with us shortly. We eventually got up and left. I understand restaurants can get busy, and it appeared they may have been short-staffed because many of the tables hadn't been cleared. However, even during a rush, simply acknowledging waiting guests goes a long way. It also seemed like additional staff, even someone dedicated to bussing tables, would have helped keep the dining room under control. It's unfortunate because we genuinely enjoyed coming here, and the food and drinks have always been a highlight. Sadly, the consistently poor service--especially our last experience--has been enough for us to stop coming back. I hope management addresses these issues because this place has the potential to be so much better.

Lupe (Community Service Coordinator) explained the staffing challenges that the pandemic has presented and agreed to contact neighboring centers in efforts to accommodate 1 of our requested dates. Within 30 minutes, I received a call-back from Lupe with heartwarming news. She was able to secure staffing at the Heritage Neighborhood Center and satisfy our 1st requested date. While preparing for the service and testing audio/video equipment, several trips were made back and forth to the center. Each time, we were greeted by friendly staff (Noah & Aleesa) who exhibited patience while my family debated about setup arrangements. We were never rush and all of our questions were answered in details. The day of our service, Aleesa and Lupe were present to provide any additional last minute request. Our check-out process was smooth and effortless. My family was extremely pleased and delighted by the Heritage Neighborhood Center.

She is not accommodating and for it to be a 'neighborhood' center, she makes it seem like you're asking to rent her personal home. She drills you with a lot of unrelated questions and is very abrasive about it. She doesn't seem to care to serve the community and acts like it's an annoyance when you have concerns. Due to her demeanor alone, I would suggest not to rent from here. The venue is very nice and large, but we did not receive the items in the contract like electricity for the food warmers or a microphone. Due to the size of the room, the microphone is seriously necessary. Not having one caused the guest experience to lack because they couldn't hear. We had access to the kitchen but could not cook. We were told that we could plug up warmers in the banquet room but the outlets could not withstand the amount of power required. So our food was served very late because we had to use the 2 small warmers in the kitchen. Then, they refused to reimburse us for these inconveniences because we ran late. Unbelievably unprofessional! I am very disappointed because the venue was $100 per hour! I will say that the other staff were very kind and did try. However, they were unable to fix the issues and that made the overall experience (especially Lupe) unacceptable.

In Aug of 2017 I hired LUXE for my event the in July 2018. Below are a few of the issues * Ben said he had other events at this venue, so he would take care of the bartending, no issues. 3 days before the event he told me he couldn't get the license for the event to bartend. He thought he could get by without having the proper ABC license at a city community center? Really? We had to scramble and purchase the alcohol ourselves and then hire a separate bartender. The plan was to have a closed bar. So this caused a lot of issues and additions cost. *Ben was paid an extra fee for "special linens" for the cake,m gift and coffee tables. These were supposed to be above and beyond standard to make it look really nice. What I got instead was cheap white polyester linens. *Ben was also paid extra for a backdrop for the cake and main court table. He didn't supply the backdrop for the cake table at all, and the one he used for the main table looked awful. Bars and other items laying in the back showed up in all of our pictures, ruining them! * After going thru the venue details, Ben said he only needed an hour to prep everything before the start of the event. He then stated if he could get an extra 15 minutes it would help him out. So I paid for an extra 30 minutes to the hall. My event started at 5pm. Now after 6pm he still wasn't done setting up. It took him 2.5 hours to finish setting up. Family and friends starting helping putting linens, center pieces, and plates on the tables to help out. This was quite embarrassing. * After the event was over we had a few hours to get the facility cleaned up. If it was not done in time, I would lose my deposit. Of course this was no skin off of his back. I had to stay and have family and friends assist with the clean up otherwise this company never would have been done in time and I would be out even more money. * Some of my guest also commented that while he was setting up he was helping himself to alcohol! Very unprofessional. * When I spoke to Ben about these issues and let him know I felt I was entitled to some sort of a refund for all of these issues, as others have mentioned her became very defensive and refused and said sue me. He told me I was very ungrateful and was down right rude. He is definitely very unorganized and very unprofessional. Do not risk your precious event and day with this company, you will definitely regret it.
