Bonjour!
Definitely a pleasant 10 day stay, no lift - so beware if you are hauling tons of luggage but overall the room I had was all I need, tended everyday, it was always clean, has a small bathroom but it is enough for a solo traveler like myself, a study table to spread your map and plan your day abroad. There is always someone in the front desk to assist you, they speak English so don't be afraid to ask, however a little knowledge of the French language can greatly assist you and always be polite, I assure you, it'll get a faster response to your questions or needs if you are. They keys are traditional (no card keys here) you may leave it in the front desk while you cruise around Paris or the surrounding arrondissements (I'm telling you - no use hauling that heavy key chain with chances of loosing it.)
This hotel is very close to two subway stations making it very convenient especially once you get the hang of riding the train (it's a no brainer)
It is a few blocks away from the Moulin Rouge going down and a few blocks away from the quaint Montmartre village and the Sacre Coeur - lots of small shops, cafes and bistros.
The neighborhood I have to say is okay but not GP, especially going towards the Moulin Rouge - sex shops and adult entertainments almost one after the other, so if you have kids and fairly conservative uhm maybe find accommodations closer to the lower arrondissements, closer to the city center maybe.
Points to remember; the plugs are different - so make sure to buy an adaptor (it is different than the ones you use in the US or UK) best to buy it in France, it's fairly cheap so it won't ding your budget by much.
This is a budget hotel so if you are expecting extravagant foyer and bell boys helping you then you are sh*t out of luck - not happening, this is basically a DIY hotel perfect for solo travelers and couples. There is a grocery down the street from this hotel for all your basic needs.
Again, there is no lift (elevators) it you plan to bring your whole wardrobe, I suggest request a room on the 2nd floor, the spiral staircase is cool but a bugger if you are hauling several bags (which could get heavier if you plan to shop for souvenirs)
Ask the concierge for suggestions, they are a wealth of useful information especially if you want to find some of the best local hole in the walls away from the tourist trap or destinations.
Be polite, learn some basic French language "Thank you!, Please!, Good Bye"
Overall, I like this hotel and would definitely stay again when I return!
