Just another review because i LOVE Carie & wanted to update my review as i have now been going to her for over 2 years. If you are afraid of a brazilian wax, fear no more. She is amazing at what she does. Her technique makes it almost painless. She will always make you feel comfortable and has a super clean studio. She uses the best hard wax and never double dips! Carie offers many other treatments that she is also extremely skilled in. she does facials, fascia blasting and now has started her new plasma lifts that are amazing. If you are looking for an esthetician, look no further! read more

I honestly never leave bad reviews but this made me beyond upset. I drove in a rush to my apt. Just to find out I wasn't even on her system which ok I get, mistakes happen. But the fact that she couldn't get back to me in about an hour is beyond unprofessional. Definitely passing this info along. From one business woman to another. Good luck. read more

Luxe Skin Studio - Told her id he 5 minutes late. NOT 15 - Skin Care Near Me - Costa Mesa, California

Long review for Carrie -- but worth it! I went to school in San Diego but came back home after graduating and needed a new place to wax. I found Carrie on Groupon and had a great experience! I didn't go back since I was traveling and finally have settled back down in OC for now and, again, needed a new waxer. I was browsing through Groupon and found her again. Carrie was so sweet and accommodating with issues that I was having with Groupon vouchers and also being a returning customer. Waxing experience wise, she's great at what she does. Her room is very clean and calming. She's very friendly and makes you feel relaxed. I've only met her once before (from the previous wax last summer) and it didn't feel awkward talking to her at all. She's also very knowledgable in her field and I trust her recommendations. I've been to many waxers over the last 4+ years or so and she's definitely one of the best. I'll be returning to her again for sure. 10/10 would recommend. She's a little bit pricier than most of the other places I've been to but worth the extra few bucks. If you're looking for a go-to person maybe try out the Groupon she offers first to see how you feel, but I promise you she's great and you'll want to go back! read more

Will ONLY be getting any waxing job done here. I love this studio, super clean and easy to get to, park, etc. Carie does my waxing each month and she is SUPERB!!! Makes you feel extremely comfortable while you're there and she's super fun to chat with. Friends have told me about their terrible experiences at other places and I always recommend Carie at Luxe. She also works with my busy schedule which is necessary with multiple jobs. All around amazing. Won't be going anywhere else! read more

Got my Brazilian done by Carrie and she was very nice. She did it with very less pain advised me on ways to exfoliate so I don't get ingrown. She seemed to be very knowledgeable as well. Even when the salon was 15 miles from my place I think I will book her again. For anyone who has tried a few waxing salons, you should try this one and may be your search for a good waxing salon will end here. read more

Carrie is an awesome esthetician! I had my first ever facial here and can't wait to come back. I was struggling with 1st trimester hormonal acne and she helped clear me up and gave me tips to keep up with cleansing at home. She wasn't pushy at all on products which I know many salons can be. So appreciate for an amazing first facial experience. She is so so sweet, professional and works in a very clean space. I would recommend her in a heartbeat. read more

Located INSIDE Basin Street Hair & Skin Lounge. There are street parking at the front of the salon. Some takes coins and some takes CC, very convenient. What I love most about Carie is she is sooo accommodating. She is available through texting and response to you very quickly. Her appointment app works well and very easy to navigate. Booking appointment is very efficient and It left me with a very good impression The wax room is small but charming and clean. Carie made me feel very comfortable. She does the job well and fast. She made sure to take care of my ingrown hairs out and moisturize me with tea tree oil afterwards. She offer packages, payment plans and really works with me to make sure that I will be able to take care of yourself without breaking the bank :) read more

Carie is knowledgeable, customer service oriented, & very genuine. She is very thorough from her waxing to Fasciablasting. It is so important to have someone who knows the body especially when they are Fasciablasting you. She's always ready to educate you so that you can continue to maintain at home if you like. More importantly she cares while delivering a high level of service. Btw - she's also really fun too!! read more

The Luxe Skin Studio is located inside Basin Street Salon. Wow, when I left my skin felt like butter (and that is good thing). I went in for a classic facial. Carie took the time to ask me about my skin concerns and she studied my face as well. The whole facial experience was heaven. Carie is professional and so personable. I really enjoyed when she washed my face, as her hands rubbing all around felt like a relaxing massage. And she does massage as well, while some of the product is working you get a nice hand/arms massage and a shoulder massage as well. If I could give more than five stars I would. I definitely want to try some of her other services. Side note: I have to also say, I have had many facials in my day, and her sheets are by far the softest ones I have ever laid on. read more

If you know a lot or zero about fasciablasting, go see Carie here. If you're an obsessed FB woman (or man) like many of us, go see Carie. If you have cellulite, go see Carie. Have been blasting on my own for a year and one visit to Carie changed the game. She knows a LOT about the body and what it needs to lessen/get rid of your problem areas. You don't always need surgery or med spa treatments to get rid of it. Do your homework and get a blaster and go see a pro like Carie to get you on the right track. She knows what she is doing. I have been to one other place for it but she's worth driving an hour for. Go see Carie ladies. You won't be sorry. Carie was easy going and a pleasure to talk to. Her space is clean and easy to get to in Costa Mesa/Newport area. read more

Located INSIDE Basin Street Hair & Skin Lounge! I was lost for a little bit beforehand. Carie first applies hard wax to the bikini and labia-surrounding area and as its drying, she'll apply soft wax on the top surface. I've never had anybody use soft wax on me for a Brazilian so when I first saw her putting soft wax on me, I semi panicked but since she uses a lot of little strips, I was was pretty painless! And when I say painless, it is literally as painless as it can be because I have a LOW pain tolerance for Brazilians (I've only gotten 3 in my whole life!). After she does the top , she'll go back to the parts where she applied to hard wax since its dry by then and remove hair from that area. I swear to god, the pain level was the same as the parts she applied the soft wax. Afterwards, she'll tweeze any leftover hair and apply some teatree oil and you''re done! The whole process takes about 30 minutes which is longer than Im used to but its a good thing because it just shows that she'll take the time to make sure everything is clean ^_^ SHE IS AMAZING. SO AMAZING I HAD TO WRITE THIS REVIEW FOR YELP (NO JOKE). I really recommend Carie! The studio is inside a salon so its a little confusing but even the room is so cute!! She even plays music to relax you! I usually go to the European Wax Center but the treatment I received here is now my new standard for Brazilians. GOGOGO!!! One Brazilian is $55 but she has packages where if you buy more, it can be as low as $35 per waxing. read more

I live on the peninsula and am SO happy to have found Carrie through groupon!! For sure my go-to waxer from here on out!

I highly recommend Carie Samonset at The Luxe Skin Studio in Costa Mesa for your esthetician needs. She knows her stuff! She is very friendly and accommodating. Literally the best Brazilian Wax I've EVER had!! Not only am I more sensitive because I'm 9 months pregnant ready to pop but Brazilians are already not exactly the most comfortable thing to do in the world. But Carie not only does special breathing with you, her technique is the least painful waxing I've ever experienced! I've done sugaring which hurts like hell and I was so apprehensive about waxing especially right now, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Carie also took care of my eyebrows and it is safe to say I will never ever get them done at a nail salon again. I'm officially a new customer and can't wait to spread the word on my new find! Thanks so much Carie for the least painful, and most comfortable experience I've ever had (: read more

Carie is absolutely fantastic! I go to her for Brazilian waxing but she offers a wide range of services. Skincare can be intimidating with all the options and variety of services out there, but Carie is knowledgeable about friendly and definitely makes you feel comfortable. Carey is AMAZING! I have gone to her for both waxing and facials. This is the least painful Brazilian by far! The facial left my skin feeling great and looking refreshed. Great service! I come here for Brazilian wax and facials, I always leave happy! Carie is friendly and very informative.

Carie is incredible - professional, thorough and personable. I've bounced around a couple of estheticians but Carie is absolutely the best.

Carey is wonderful! I came in for a Brazilian and had my underarms done as well. First she was very forgiving about me being late for my appointment which I appreciated. She used a combination of soft wax and hard wax. She was very good, very knowledgable about skin and quick. She explained what she was doing and why. I absolutely love that she used natural oils afterwards to prevent bacterial growth. She definitely is committed to understanding skin. Everything was very clean, her methods were very sanitary. I will definitely be coming back and referring folks. read more

I have been going to Carie for sometime now and she is the best! I am always happy with what a great job she does. She's fast, painless, friendly, affordable, and very professional. She was the first person that ever waxed me and I have continued to be a devoted customer. She's given me a Brazilian, legs, eyebrow, lip, and even underarms. I drive all the way from Garden Grove just for her! Trust me when I say she's the best! read more

I was actually recommended here by my cousin because she knows all the good waxing locations. I was kind of hesitant only because I've only been waxed at one place. Unfortunately by my mistake I thought I scheduled an appointment but I wanted to make sure with Carie and she told me I didn't end up scheduling an appointment with her and asked if I could come in at a different time on that same day to accomodate me. And boy will I tell you I go in and this Brazilian wax is not what I expected lol. I mean I have a high tolerance for pain and this session with Carie was not painful whatsoever. Let me tell you ladies for all you new and fresh waxers Carie is the one to go too! I really enjoyed my session with her not only was she quick and less painful but she was knowledgable on what she was doing! Thank you again I will definitely be coming back soon :) read more

If I could give 6 Stars I would. Carie is a true professional. She immediately puts you at ease not only with her fantastic bedside manner, but her confidence and skill is as equally assuring. The wax she uses makes a world of difference and her process is quick and honestly the procedure is as pain-free as waxing can be. I was impressed with the setup of her room she made it cozy but you could see she treats the room as one would a medical office, no clutter, clean and no double dipping of wax. I will be going back for sure. read more

My experience was wonderful! Carie was professional and talked me through the entire process of my brazilian wax. You can certainly tell that she values her customers with the personal care she provodes. I went to a more comercial place and they left me with hair all over. With Carie, she removed all the singe hairs with tweezers, and I left feeling confident! I will definitely use her from now on. Thanks Carie!!! read more

Carie does amazing waxing! She is always super professional and friendly! She puts me at ease (cuz hello, she's about to violently rip out the hair on my lady parts) and does her best to ease any discomfort. Shes quick, but efficient. I recommend Carie for all your hairy needs! read more

I was very very happy with the waxing service today. Coming from the East coast (Baltimore) on vacation I was thrilled to meet a professional that adopts very high hygienic standards in her practice. There's no double dipping! Additionally her prices are very reasonable. She's also very quick and accommodated me when I asked her to do waxing on other parts of my body in addition to what I booked. I'm yet to find a waxing station like this close to where I live. If I lived here I would constant be going back. If you live here, please give Carie a try. You won't regret it I promise you. To summarize, fantastic service! read more

If there is a 6 stars rating, I'll rate Carie with 6 stars for sure! She is amazing, not just her passion is what makes her so special, but her knowledge and effort in every single thing she does. I can't think in any other person more thorough and detail-oriented in what she knows, literally shaped my brows from scratch and now I LOVE my brows more than ever! :) read more

I was very satisfied with the waxing service that Carie provided. One of the most important factors for me to determine a good service its how clean and comfortable the environment is and Carie exceeded my expectations. I was very happy to find out that she uses hard wax which is more expensive than the regular wax used by other estheticians and there is no double dipping of course!. I would highly recommend her services. She is very good and professional at what she does. read more

Best Brazilian wax I've ever had...and it was a groupon from my bf and she was still amazing! I prefer sugaring now but I would totally go back to her. One other groupon I used for waxing was horrible, she ripped me in the worst spot possible. The other groupon did an OK job but messed up the appt day and I had to wait 15 min for my appt when she got the day right. read more

Carie was great! Very friendly and did a great job! Would definitely be coming again!
