I went in for a pedicure expecting basic quality service, and I'm honestly shocked at how poorly it was done. The technician rushed through everything, barely cleaned, and didn't even smooth the rough areas properly.For the price they charge, the service should at least meet the bare minimum standards -- but this was nowhere close. I had to fix parts of it myself afterward, which completely defeats the purpose of going to a salon. Overall, very disappointing experience. I went to this salon for the first time last week. I had a pedicure and full set of acrylic nails put on. Pedicure was ok, I guess. I can actually do a better job at home myself but went there getting ready for a trip to Bermuda the following day. So, about my nails..... I have never experienced soooo much pain while under the UV light. The burn was unbearable!!! I told the technician and honestly, she didn't care. She even blamed me...saying I wasn't keeping my hands level!! My nails very thick and the shape was not even close to what I asked for. My nails started popping up near the cuticle one by one after only 3 days. Thank God I took some nail glue with me on our vacation! If I could give zero stars I would, because the experience that I had today was mine blowing and I really could not believe what was happening during my spa pedicure. At first, everything was OK, The water temperature was perfect and I was starting to relax and enjoy my aromatherapy spa pedicure, which my husband bought me gift cards for Christmas gifts so that I could take care of my feet and my nails. I am a machinist and I work on my feet constantly and use my hands every day. Then to my surprise I had horrible stinging and pain coming from my feet. I have had many pedicures in the past which were wonderful and relaxing, But not today's visit, I was in some serious pain. When I open my eyes in pain I saw Jen taking nippers to my cuticles on my toes and Then, To My Great Surprise,...she started ripping the skin away from my toenails. Then, I saw a red blood appearing around my toenails and then she took a tissue and started blogging the blood and then she sprayed my bloody feet with rubbing alcohol which sent me through the roof, not only in pain but now also having searing stinging as well. I am not sure what will happen next because I only one a refund of my husbands money, because he spent $150 on gift cards for me to frequent this place that has caused me some serious pain. I've come to Luxe Nail salon on three occasions. They do a good job, but a little pricey. A gel mani cost $26, dip powder is $35 for a refill & new dip powder is $40. On my second visit apparently the gel didn't dry well, consequently one of my nails began to chip. I went back to the salon the next day & it was repaired quickly. I knocked a star off because The guy at the front desk can be read the wrong way, he keeps it very professional; therefore, he comes off as if he isn't very friendly. He doesn't even greet you when you enter the salon. My gel manicure usually last for 2 to 2 1/2 weeks. Overall the manicurists are friendly & very professional. No matter how busy they are, or what time it may be they are always making sure that you aren't kept waiting long at all. I picked out my color which is sometimes so hard to do, because they have so many that I just want them all. My friend took me here for valentines day...I've heard great things about this place so i was super excited when we arrived for a mother/daughter valentines gift. My daughter wanted gel polish and i wanted a regular manicure with gel polish. While i was there i opted for an eyebrow wax, that was the best experience but everything else after was a fail!!!! The lady seat #15 never gave me a manicure she commence to just doing the gel polish. MARY is the best, I've been 2 times. The first time I came on a Saturday at 10am and as expected I went straight back. The second time I came on a Saturday at 12:30 which is peak time and only waited 10 mins. MARY was very polite and professional. She suggested the callous removal pedicure and did wonders with my feet. I've only ever gotten 3 pedicures, twice here and one in North Carolina.
