To be clear, Asia is 100% 5 stars all the way! The 4 star review is only to include the location and specifically parking. 5 Stars: Asia knows her stuff! I bought the 60 minute Treat Facial on Groupon to try out a facial (this is my first one), and she walked me through what she was doing ever step of the way. She focuses on rejuvenation not relaxation so some of the facial was quite tingly/stinging but in an awesome way! If you want to sit in a fuzzy robe with cucumbers on your eyes and flute music playing in the background then this is not your place. If you want to leave with glowing skin that continues to look better every single day then this is your place! Asia was running a bit late from a previous client so very graciously upgraded my Treat facial to include microdermabrasion to make up for the loss of time. WOW! What a gesture and made me feel just fine with starting a bit late. 4 stars: the building is a bit odd from the outside but they've made the inside super cute. Parking is street parking but most of the nearby streets are filled with driveways and places you cannot park so it was frustrating. Asia mentioned opening a space on Prytania St that would fix this totally! (As for all the folks with negative reviews, if you read the instructions on groupon and their website you wouldn't have run into any issues. Slow down, read, and don't run your mouth on social media about a small business just because you messed up) :) read more

Drop your lash tech immediately and book with Asia. You won't regret it. She is the lash tech of all lash techs. When it comes to retention, she is undefeated. It doesn't hurt that she is also hilarious! read more

DO NOT buy a groupon for this place. They do not let you know that they are ONLY open 11:30-1:30 (see business hours). They do not respond to calls. They say on the groupon that you cannot book without the groupon number or you will be charged the full value, but their website doesn't accept the groupon code. Go elsewhere. read more

They don't return phone calls until week later. Not even a call it's a text message. Will not be trying this place out was really looking forward to it read more

I was really excited to try to services here seeing as my favorite waxing parlor just closed. However, I never had the chance to. After calling repeatedly for a week with no answer (because I had questions before I wanted to make an online appt), I finally just bit the bullet, bought a groupon, and a made an appointment. My appointment is approaching and I try once again repeatedly to call to reschedule. I had a feeling my period was going to come early. No answer. So I just hope for the best and pray my period doesn't start. The day of...my period starts. I try repeatedly to call to make an arrangement and reschedule my appointment. No answer. I paid a $24 deposit on my services. And paid the cost of the Groupon $21. So $41 later no wax, no answer, and no return phone call. I really wanted this place to be a good fit but... read more

Asia is awesome! She is always so accommodating and her work is wonderful. I have very light features and light skin and she uses a beautiful light lash on me that I've never been able to find anywhere else. Thank you Asia! read more

Save yourself the headache and don't book an appointment here with Asia. She texted this morning to let me know that she wouldn't be able to accommodate my appointment that I made a week ago and and at least saved me the trouble of driving to her business! New to the area, I was trying to find a good nail salon and bought a Groupon. The Groupon requires you to make an appointment online however when you do it's really confusing on which manicure and pedicure or you're supposed to book. So I went ahead and made an appointment with a special note - Asia didn't read my note until this morning. In response she made no attempt to address this except to blame me - the customer and no attempt to accommodate! She simply canceled my appointment and told me that Groupon would give me a refund. See screenshots from my wonderful 'customer service' experience with her. There is no way I would let her get anywhere near me with any kind of cutting device! read more

Great atmosphere and the sweetest massage therapist. She's very good at getting into problem areas and I feel much relieved after my massage. Highly recommend read more

After seeing some of the other negative comments I thought I should talk about my experience a few months ago. Overall, the hassle to get serviced here isn't worth it. Phone calls are never answered, the owner lies to customers, and the building itself is run-down. Check out Uptown Charm or Luxury Studio for an amazing experience worth the money!! :) Here's my review: If you are seeking professionalism, you are not going to get it here. As mentioned in other reviews, this is not a salon. It is a one-woman business in a rented out apartment next to a sketchy gas station. The quality of customer service will vary depending on Asia's mood that day. I cannot speak to the quality of work because I left before I could be serviced. As many other reviewers have stated, Asia constantly lies to save herself, and she tries to make negative experiences seem like the customer's fault. When I arrived for my wax, Asia thought I was getting my lashes done. She got upset because she needed more time to prep the wax. How is that possible when I booked online and pre-selected the service? It's not my fault that she is disorganized. During my visit, I was constantly told "I'm sorry you can't read the fine print," or "do you not know how to read?" Pro Tip- if you want to run a successful business, the customer is always right, especially when we actually are right. If this many people are having issues with your booking system because it is so tedious, maybe you should look at yourself before blaming your customers for everything. As I walked out due to Asia's attitude (I cannot stand people who lie to my face multiple times), she threatened to charge me for the full service. She said "I don't care, ima get yo money anyways!" I called my bank to have them reverse the charges. After she lost the money, she harassed me with text messages and endless phone calls. I'm actually terrified that she has my personal info +contact details, because who knows what she'll do when she sees my review? read more

Let me just start by saying Asia is AMAZING! Truly. She is incredible at her craft. So intelligent and kind. It was my first waxing experience and she made me feel so comfortable! Her knowledge while providing the service was beyond. Tonya her receptionist who helped with scheduling my appointment was SO sweet and quick to respond. I really wouldn't go anywhere else if you're looking for esthetics in the Austin area. I can't say enough wonderful things about this woman and her team! Thank you, Asia! read more

I bought a Groupon very excited for my Microdermabrasion, but when I went I called to schedule the appointment no one answered. So I called 3 times after and still no answer . I eventually emailed her and she said she wasn't open to accommodate my request for my appointment on Saturday at 2 . However on the website it states she is open 8-8 mon-sat. This place is really unprofessional, do not waste your money on buying this Groupon . Try saintly skin group on well worth your money . read more

My eyebrows were PERFECT. I have never had such perfect shaping and brow tint ever - and the lash lift - also perfect. No one has ever understood what I was asking for - but she did! HIGHLY recommended. Absolutely wonderful. She made me look 10 years younger. read more

I first started getting my Brazilian waxes here, and then I also started to get my eyelashes done as well. I've had a wonderful experience since day one and have never been disappointed! Asia knows what she is doing and I wouldn't trust anyone else with these type of services. Just be professional like with anything else, giving advanced heads-up if something comes up for appointment time and get there on time and there shouldn't be any issues! It is a business after all. Overall, my favorite place. read more

First of all, I discovered this place because Asia had generously donated a gift certificate to Beyond Bare as a prize for a benefit show/raffle I was playing for. I was lucky enough to have it fall into my hands. I not only got a top-of-the-line facial (including my first microdermabrasion), but was treated to some invaluable advice about how to better care for my skin as it goes through its changes (I'm 44). Asia is not only an expert on self-care, but she's passionate about what she does and radiates positive vibes. I will most definitely be back! read more

Asia was the best I ever had !!!! she was so sweet and so professional and literally educated me so well about eyelash extensions, she is so dedicated to her clients. She lives in Dallas so when she didn't respond to my email to talk about a refill and a later appointment-- I was totally fine bc traveling here must be so much for her and she books up so quickly when she's here bc she's just that good. I went somewhere else and I was so uncomfortable like this girl is absolutely amazing!! she is worth every penny and so much more!!! read more

I am sure I will never get the money back I paid for with this groupon. I honestly don't know why Groupon doesn't vett some of these companies...Its very clear from reading the yelp reviews that this place is bad business. First off, no one was at the location when I went for my service. I waited about ten minutes outside and no one showed up. I paid a deposit online for the service in addition to the Groupon price. She did not refund my money nor was I able to get Groupon to respond in a timely matter....I will just call this an expensive lesson learned. After reading all these reviews, and dealing with her nasty text messages also, I kick myself for not checking yelp before purchasing. UGH! Lastly I'm sure these "5 star" reviews are friends of hers and not actual clients, I can't imagine anyone have a delightful experience here. Do not go here....and do not purchase this from Groupon. read more

Asia was wonderful! I was a little hesitant because of some of the reviews, but wow I had a GREAT experience! She really wanted to ensure that I received RESULTS versus pampering which is what I wanted too! I can't wait to see my face in the next couple of days because it already looks amazing and I just got it done. She was so personable and definitely someone I can't wait to go back and see! She is GREAT at what she does and now she is going to be terrible for my bank account because I want her to do EVERYTHING!! But her prices are so fair and services even better. I feel like I found a hidden gem... read more

Unethical and unprofessional. Advertises one price on Groupon, but then tries to charge you double the price for the service listed on the Groupon. Told me that I would have to wait two hours for my appointment because she was running late. Groupon refunded my money for the unprofessional and lack of service, and she still charged my card for more than my initial payment. Don't trust her with your credit card information. read more

The esthetician is amazing and the space is super cute. I moved her recently and have tried a few waxing places, but I've finally found my home at beyond bare. The experience was comfortable and painless, would definitely recommend! read more

She will rip you off on the prices and won't tell you about 1/2 off for new clients --unless you ask .

I called to make an appointment and no one answered . So unprofessional . Note to Asia: hire a receptionist / appointment setter!!! I don't understand how you are running this business without one . Maybe that will help people to be able to get in touch with you and actually purchase services. read more

I had a Brazilian wax done here. Asia is truly gifted. She can do it in 20 minutes and she doesn't break hair. I have only had one done this well before and it was over $100. She is probably the best. I can't wait to try other services read more

I've been going to Beyond Bare for about a year now and have nothing but amazing things to say about Asia and her business! The prices are well worth the quality service she provides. I've been waxing for about four years and have had the best results since going to Beyond Bare! She always takes care of her clients and once you experience the service here you'll wish you could bring a little Asia with you everywhere else you go! I drive 1.5 hours because this is hands down the best salon on the Gulf Coast. Great experience EVERY TIME!

I tried over several months to make an appointment and never got a response through their online system, through text and after calling. They do not communicate with their costumers. It is very unprofessional and I would not recommend using their services. read more

I've been going to Asia for waxing services for 3 years now. I love her business and professionalism. She is fast and efficient in her work and she always makes me laugh. This is great when you're on the table for a Bare Derriere service. Her website is incredibly easy to use for booking appointments. I appreciate her respect for everyone's time. Her website is very clear about her booking policies, and about how to contact her and her late policies. She is a small operation because she has a very clear vision of what she wants to offer and what her boundaries are for herself and her business. Don't be fooled by the exterior of her building. She has a soft, sassy and lovely little space that is very comfortable. If you want to be ridiculously pampered, go elsewhere. If you want great services from an excellent human being who understands that we've all got to get ourselves together and get on to the next thing looking our best, go to Beyond Bare. read more

I am more than amazed by Asia's performance! My Brazilian wax was the definition of quick and painless! I'm so so so impressed. I had a 1 o'clock appt with Asia...she was amazing and prompt. The salon was very clean. I went in for a Brazilian wax and teeth whitening. She made me feel so comfortable while doing the waxing. I had the best experience with Asia. I usually get a facial once a year, not as often as I should but they're just expensive and also never that great. This was not the case with Asia. I got a Groupon and went there this past weekend. First off, the shop is adorable and smells so nice. Asia is also incredibly polite, professional, and KNOWLEDGEABLE. I was blown away. Normally, the aesthetician just goes to town with scents and cucumbers or whatever. Asia asked me what issues I was having and then created a facial just for me. The entire time she was asking and answering questions, truly educating me on how to take better care of my skin. It was so nice because I've gone nearly 30 years without anyone doing this. She is gifted, so sweet, and my skin feels amazing. I'm looking forward to the continued improvements to my complexion and will definitely go back to Beyond Bare. Thank you, Asia! read more

This was the most enjoyable experience I could have had. Asia made me feel very comfortable and was very knowledge in the theory behind waxing. The entire process took 15-20 minutes and was relatively painless. Would 100% recommend this to anyone. read more

I feel the need to warn people about my experience here. The treatment table was extremely dirty and had obviously never been washed, it looked like layers of debris, eyelashes, glue, had accumulated over time, and it was completely crusted with salon debris. I was a little wary about the overall hygiene of the tools at this point. Asia glued my eye together, it was extremely painful. The next day I had an eye infection that lasted for a week. Be warned. read more

I can't understand how this woman owns a business. First off, the "salon" is in a run down house with bars on the window and no signs. When I arrived for my appointment she said she had someone else before me so I can wait another half hour. And when I got near her she smelled like marijuana. I told her I felt uncomfortable that she was high and would be near my face with hot glue and I left. Later that afternoon she charged my credit card for a "appointment cancellation/no show fee". I didn't cancel and I got to my appointment 7 minutes early. I called the number on the website and apparently got a receptionist. She apologized profusely for what happened and said she would get the charge taken off. But at 8pm that same night, I received a call from the woman who was supposed to do my lashes and she immediately started in with "what does it matter if you smelled pot"; "you can't report me, you can't call the police"; "I'm gonna get yo money anyway". When I asked to talk to the owner, she laughed and said "baby I'm the owner, I'm it". She also said "I wasted her time so I'm gonna waste yo money" and "girl you still wasting my time". So completely unprofessional. Customer service skills are non existent and coming to your place of business at 9 in the morning already high is probably not the best idea. read more

Do you believe in magic? If not, you will after going to Beyond Bare. Asia is an amazingly wonderful and knowledgeable magician...aesthetician ! I've had a great experience every time. Oh the ambiance! Beautiful decor and relaxing music in the background. She knows what she's doing. My skin is clearing and I haven't had any breakouts since her bewitching facials and chemical peels. This is one place that I would DEFINITELY recommend to my friends and family, to everyone! I'm super satisfied with my treatments and results, and I have no one to thank but her for all the compliments that I get from others. I knew from the very first time, I would be a lifelong customer. You're in good hands at Beyond Bare. You won't be disappointed! read more

Asia is phenomenal! I arrived dreading this appointment because I waited a little too long and feared I would have to undergo a prolonged beauty-is-pain torture session. Not at all the case. My service was possibly the least painful wax I've ever had which I would PAY for but her prices are so reasonable I felt like I'd found New Orleans' best kept waxing secret. Asia is a breath of fresh air and a talented esthetician. I will definitely be returning. read more
