I love love how the young lady does my nails she is gentle efficient and very good ! She has a wonderful personality! She holds a conversation with you and show interest in you.. My $25 lashes have been to 3 countries, on a hike in the desert, to a couple of hot yoga classes, for a swim in the Dead Sea and through many a tears (mostly happy) in the last 4 weeks... and they're JUST now coming off! And that's only because I accidentally pulled on them yesterday! I'm super impressed with the durability of my lash clusters done by the lovely and detail oriented Jane. Jane, who came highly recommended by a friend who is a client of hers for manicures took me as a walk-in mid-day on a weekday and in 20 minutes or so I had a beautiful, full, flirty set of lashes! (I get them done as part of my pre-travel rituals to keep me from looking too tired while leg-lagged...and it saves me from packing and fussing with mascara! Ain't nobody got time for that:) For those not familiar with these types of lashes, they are synthetic and stiffer than lash extensions (also, a heck of a lot cheaper).They are much more dramatic and perfect to try for your first time to wear to wedding or large event where you will be photographed. The trickiest part is getting them off! You can either come back and have them removed or filled in or just buy remover. If you pull them yourselves you risk ripping your own lashes out, so be careful! Unfortunately I don't live in the area, but may just have to time a visit to the area, which will include the mall nearby when I'm thinking of getting them done again! Finally! I have found my new nail place in my area. I have been searching for a while to find a nail/wax place that I love as much as the one I used to go to when I lived in Jamison. I've tried several local places and have been disappointed at each one of them, especially in the eyebrow waxes. I've gone to Lux about 3 times now for an eyebrow wax, and they have done a great job every time. It's only 7$ as well. They're very friendly, and the place is nice and clean. The pedicures are also great - they have a really wide variety of color choices and did a great job with me every time. They also take their time, unlike some other local places. Everyone there is also very friendly. I can't comment on manicures because my nails aren't long enough (lol) but I've seen some other patrons and their nails look good. I asked for dip nails and they said they didn't have the color in dip powder but they had it in gel, so I just asked to do gel since that would be cheaper. However the nail tech said that dip powder with the gel polish would be $40 and gel alone is $40, so obviously I decided to do the dip powder and gel. Turns out, gel alone was $30 and not $40. Not only that, she refused to apply a base coat since it "doesn't look nice" even though I asked. She was very rough with my nails and extremely rude to me. I totally understand that the holidays are super busy and I appreciate them for being there, however I still paid for the nails that I didn't like and was lied to about the price. read more

Went here to get my nails done and ended up with a trip to Urgent Care. Finger is extremely infected, sorry for the gross pictures. Called to discuss getting a refund and was told "you can't get an infection from fake nails, only maybe a pedicure." Pretty sure that's incorrect. Anyway, was told they would get a hold of my nail tech and get in touch. They next day they called and I was traveling so I called back when I was told 'Ethan' would be there- surprise he wasn't. At this point I'm out $50 for the nails and $50 for my Urgent Care visit. Still waiting on a call, but I feel as though they're not taking this serious. Will never get my business again. read more

I signed up for Yelp just to review Lux because they are amazing! I have gotten my nails done many times with the hello kitty design and most places are only willing to do one nail on each hand. They gladly did every nail with the design in such an intricate and cute way! In addition, they are quick and priced like your typical nail salon...$30.00 for a full set. Very clean, nice atmosphere and the nails lasted longer than I've ever had before.. About one month and they are still on and looking great. I will definitely go there every time!! read more

I came into Lux to get a full set for a wedding I was in. I had a certain design in mind and even called ahead so I could be convenient for the employees. I left with nails that only lasted a little under two weeks. The design was okay but not how I really wanted. The nails were uneven and had ripples throughout them. Lovely place! The staff here is so nice, accommodating, professional, innovative, & fun. The salon is mostly clean - could use a good dusting & sweeping. I also hate that the staff smokes cigarettes directly out back & the odor travels into the salon. The staff ability with designs is pretty fantastic, almost unparalleled in the area (I'm sure there a fantasy nail art designer out there i don't know). I have been coming to Lux for over a year and I usually had pretty good experiences. But today I walked in at 6:28pm to get my eyebrows done and I was turned away. I was told that they take the last customer at 6:30 and close at 7:00 (mind you it was 6:28). I would have completely understood if I was getting my nails done, but this time it was my eyebrows which take less than 5 minutes to do. I was told that "we usually would take you but this woman has been waiting for a while. There was at least 2 people still getting their nails done so I clearly wouldn't have held them up. i am DISGUSTED with this place. first they took so long to get to me and when they finally did i sat in the chair for 20 minutes waiting. then they lady complained ruined my nails from the shape, color and size,then didn't even give me a full manicure? all she did was take my polish off and change it and i paid 30 dollars for crap!! my nails look grainy and she didn't wait for the light and wiped it anyway and now they're streaky! my pointer fingers are also 2 different sizes and lengths and none of my nails are even across. the polishes have a weird smell to them so hopefully didn't catch any diseases. Disappointed. First visit my nails looked great when I left. The gel started peeling two days later. I went back and had them redone after about 5 days. I scheduled an appointment but waited 40 minutes to be seen. When I finally sat down with the technician I felt a bit rushed. They were done very very fast. I thought part of my bill would be discounted because they definitely should not have been peeling after only a few days, but I was charged full price.
