Sean was communicative, honest, punctual, and did exactly what he promised. He didn't try to change the price in the middle of the job (due to unforeseen obstacles) nor try to upsell me on anything I didn't need. Best part is his level of service. He wanted to make sure I was taken care of before he can do the install so he came by my house few times to provide a temporary fix to keep me cool until the date of the install. To provide some backstory, our AC stopped blowing cold air due to heavy refrigerant leak. We had an old R22 unit that is very expensive to repair or get replacement parts, so the obvious choice was to just go with a whole new unit. I contacted two other companies to get an estimate. This company's quote was in the middle but not too far off from the one with the lowest price. I initially was going to go with the other contractor just because both my dad and my aunt used him with good results. However, when he came to assess our house, he sounded unsure about getting the heating and coil up in our attic due to small access space. He asked me to first get a handy man to create a bigger access panel before he can do the job. That sounded like too much work so I contacted Sean to do an assessment. He said he and his team can take care of that, so that sealed the deal. Sean even matched the other contractor's price and just added a small fee to create a bigger access panel. He also replaced our existing thermostat with a Honeywell smart thermostat. The install was just done today and everything went smoothly. I'm always nervous on the date of the install that there might be some obstacle that might delay the project, or I have to pay extra to have it resolved. Even if there was, it seemed like Sean just took care of it rather than trying to throw it on me. Almost every single contractor I dealt with in the past has done that to me so I am always weary. Sean tested everything before leaving, and his crew did a great job cleaning up. Sean said he will come back during the fall to test out our heating unit. He definitely sounds like someone who stands behind his work.

My Ac unit went out and we had received a flyer or text about a discounted service inspection so I thought great! Let's get the ac checked out. A service tech came out said there was a leak in the line. They said we can have you blowing cold air today. We asked repeatedly "will it be "repaired". With the assurance of it "will be blowing cold air tonight". They also stated in order to fix the AC they needed to clean the ducts. We really did not want our ducts cleaned but they were insistent that they needed to clean the ducts, for the AC to work properly and the price they charged to clean and fix the issue was $5437. They injected a type of flex seal into the line to seal a tiny leak and recharged our cooling system as well as cleaned the ducts. AC worked great for 3 days and then it started short cycling and would not blow anymore. I called and they came out and they told us we needed a new unit and the price would be roughly $20,000. Then they stated that the pressures were off due to the fact that the duct was crushed. Yes you read that correctly they cleaned crushed ducts on an AC unit that wasn't working. Of course at the time they did not tell us that our ac ducts were crushed they did not share that info with us until they came back to look at the AC because it wasn't working. They refused to troubleshoot the system that they broke and insisted we needed a new unit, a unit that had been working fine previously. I was very adamant that there was no issues with the system other than the leak and that the repair they had done something that had to impact the working of the AC and that I did not need a new unit. They refused to troubleshoot the system that they broke. Did they break it yes. I called multiple AC repair companies to come out and look at the unit they all told me the same thing that I needed a new system. I finally found an independent contractor that came out and actually listened to the problem he diagnosed it within minutes he took pressure readings and the input was double the pressure that the output should have been, not to mention that there was DOUBLE the amount of coolant in the system that there should have been, to him he said that indicated that there was a clog in the line and he was 99% certain that it was a valve. He said he was going to take our non-working unit apart I said that was fine it doesn't work anyways LOL. So he took the line apart, took out the valve in sure enough that was the issue it was clogged. He replaced the TXV (valve) and our ac has been working fine since then. So there you have it service all stars came out broke our system charged us $5,500 including cleaning ducts that were crushed (we won't mention that they are the dryer vent type ducts that everyone recommends not to clean) and then refused to diagnose the system that they broke so if you want to use these guys I just want to give you a fair warning.

He is a really honest guy, great quality work, genuinely cares and offers super, super reasonable prices. My a/c broke in the middle of the heatwave and despite his already packed residential and commercial schedule, he responded right away, fit me in immediately and diagnosed the issue within minutes. I got a full digital report with so many details about my system and he patiently took the time to explain each metric to me, especially what is standard and where mine was sitting. Both times he cleaned the furnace and the a/c unit with great care for free as well and gave me a lot of tips about how I could easily maintain it myself, all the while asking about my family and dogs. Even when I inquired about the price of a full system replacement as mine is 18 years old, he repeatedly convinced me NOT to replace the system as with his maintenance tips it could run well for another few years. Extremely disappointed with Southwest HVAC…read more I called Southwest HVAC in April to have my AC serviced before summer because I have a newborn at home and wanted to make sure our system was reliable before the hot weather hit. I specifically took the initiative to have the unit maintained ahead of time because keeping my family comfortable and safe was a priority. During that visit, Southwest HVAC charged me $1,000 for a capacitor and a hard-start kit. I thought the price was extremely high, but I agreed to pay it because I trusted that I was paying for professional service and, more importantly, peace of mind that my AC would be ready for the summer. Fast-forward ONLY FIVE MONTHS and my AC won't even turn on. Naturally, I called Southwest HVAC expecting them to stand behind the work they had performed just five months earlier. Instead, I was told I would have to pay another $100 diagnostic fee just for them to come out and look at the system. That's what I find completely unacceptable. You charged me $1,000 to service and repair my AC, and less than five months later the system isn't even turning on--and your response is essentially, "Pay us another $100 and we'll take a look." If you are going to charge customers premium prices for HVAC work, I expect a reasonable level of accountability when the equipment fails shortly after you serviced it. I shouldn't have to pay another fee simply to find out whether the work I already paid you $1,000 for was done properly or whether the components you installed have failed. The timing is especially frustrating because I specifically had this work done BEFORE summer precisely so I wouldn't end up in this situation. I have a newborn in the house, and now I'm dealing with a non-functioning AC in the middle of summer after paying this company $1,000 for service only five months ago. $1,000 in April. AC completely dead in September. Another $100 just to get someone to diagnose it. That is not what I consider good customer service, and it certainly isn't what I expected when I paid Southwest HVAC to service my system. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion and comparing prices before giving this company your business. Based on my experience, I am extremely dissatisfied with both the service and the way they handled the situation afterward.
