Mike came to their house, setup a beautiful table scape for them, prepared all the dishes from scratch and cleaned up the kitchen as well. My parents didn't have to lift a finger. I wanted to really do something special for my mother as her health has been slowly declining due to dementia and it has been really hard on my dad. As soon as Chef Mike left they called me with the biggest smiles on their faces. My dad raved about his lamp chops, my mother couldn't stop talking about her favorite appetizer the spinach dip and the creme brulee. They loved everything and were very impressed with everything. Especially Chef Mike setting everything up and then cleaning up too. They enjoyed getting to know him and my mother couldn't believe that they are practically neighbors lol. Needless to say I see Chef Mike making another appearance at the Da silva home sometime in the near future. Not gonna lie, wish I got to have some of that chicken marsala as the dish looked amazing; but sadly I live in Boston. Thank you again Chef Mike for making my mother's DAY, the greatest day.

So when I heard that the restaurant was closing I thought that would be it, no more Pele's. I had totally forgotten that they had the mobile cart and how could I, they were at the very first Jaxson's Night Market slangin' pizzas and it was just as good as the restaurant. I found the cart near by job so I thought why not? When I got over there, it was I believe the owner still setting up the oven and running a little behind. There was a crowd of students from a career institute gathered around him waiting the place an order and he reassured us that he'd get all of our orders done. One, for lack of a better term, jerk decided to question his use of gloves on the various toppings and the owner reassured him that he knew what he could and could not do regarding the health department guidelines. The guy huffed, cancelled his order and he and a group of people walked off, leaving only a few of us there. We could feel that he got under the owner's skin and he was ready to cancel his outing. We assured him to take his time and we weren't gonna go anywhere without a pizza. He was very thankful and made us our pizzas, which were done in no time. I got a mushroom and blue cheese pizza, just something on a whim and it was still very good like before. I told the owner I was sorry about the other guy's behavior and that he didn't know any better. The owner thanked me again for coming and for being so understanding. Don't be like that guy and his group because that was mad rude. I'm sure Pele's won't be out that way anymore. If you see them around town, go give them a try!

I'll be honest... $60 for a ham had me skeptical. Like "this thing better be life-changing" skeptical. Yeah... it was. This ham was UNREAL. Out of the lineup -- Dry Apple, Strawberry Key Lime, Watermelon, Orange Creamsicle, Pineapple, Sweet Peach, Sour Apple -- the Strawberry Key Lime was my favorite. Really good. Fruity and refreshing without being syrupy. Ordered a full pour of it. We started with the cider-braised meatballs. Really tasty. The sauce is basically a BBQ sauce and it was really good, then I added some of their datil hot sauce and that really kicked it up. The Cidersmith Mac & Cheese was the standout. Amazing. I mixed it all up into a creamy pile of goodness. The andouille sausage went so good with it. Menu says smoked bacon, but neither of us really got any bacon out of it. I switched to the Dry Apple cider for this one and it worked -- just make sure it's cold. Really tasty when it is. We also tried the Pinot Noir. First glass smelled bad, so they brought another. A little better, not much. It was Cavit. Pass -- stick with the cider. Tegan was awesome. Food came out quick and she had good suggestions. Good value too. We ate and drank well for a reasonable price. Worth it.
