When traveling out of the country, we rarely have filipino food in mind but we made an exception for Lutong Pinoy. They serve delicious and authentic Filipino food with generous servings, welcoming staff and a home-like atmosphere that's reasonably priced. Coming from a day trip to some UNESCO World Heritage sites plus a chilly and wet weather, we thought of comfort food for dinner and our friend suggested we eat here and never regretted the decision. It was a little bit of a walk from the train station but definitely worth it. For our group of 6, we ordered the following: * Inihaw na Liempo with Garlic Rice (grilled pork belly) - my favorite! Soft and savory, flavored just the way I imagined it and the pork belly melted in the mouth *Arroz Caldo (rice porridge) - really good for cold and wet weather * Sinigang na Sugpo (prawn in sour broth/soup) - good combination to pour over the rice, the sourness is not overpowering at all * Inihaw na Manok (grilled chicken) - not the best but soft and tender * Sizzling Sisig (sizzling mixed pork) - staple food for filipinos * Lechon Kawali ( deep fried pork belly) - crispy skin and soft and tender meat * Sago at Gulaman - drinks/dessert On that rainy day in October, we had a great experience. Tummy was full and couldn't complain at all. Definitely worth coming and I highly recommend Lutong Pinoy. May 2026 read more

I wasn't imagining myself dining in a Filipino restaurant in London of all places. After a days tour of UNESCO sites around England, we were famished. Our bus stop was walking distance to Little Manila in Earl's Court, so off we went. A couple in our party of six had promising reviews of this resto which led to our consensus for dinner. We were sat in the upper area and I immediately noticed the Philippines inspired art adorning the walls. I just got the steaming Arroz Caldo (chicken & rice porridge) as it felt right for that night's chilly weather. The group ordered comfort food like Inihaw na Liempo (grilled pork belly), Inihaw na Manok (barbecue chicken), Sinigang Na Sugpo (prawn in sour broth), Lechon Kawali (deep-fried pork belly) and Sizzling Sisig (tasted and smelled like the ones in Manila during the 80's). Food amazingly exceeded my expectations. Service was to be expected of Filipinos, funny & exceptional. No wonder this tiny eatery has been existing since the it's inception in the 90's. read more

Great family owned Filipino spot. A bit small but they turned tables over pretty quick. The sizzling tofu and beef curry were great but the quarter chicken??!? LIFE CHANGING. The sauce it came with was divine as well. I would absolutely eat here again, though I recommend calling ahead for a table if you can. Pass on the rice though. £6 for plain jasmine rice that's maybe a cup and a half is a steeeeeeeep price to pay. read more

This place is amazing! We stumbled upon this place while staying around Earl's Court area for a few nights and I would highly recommend. This was my first introduction to filipino food and can definitely say I am hooked. While the restaurant has a small store front, there are tables in the front and back and on a Friday night we did not have to wait for a table although the restaurant was close to full. The staff was friendly and helpful and our drinks and food came out in a timely manner. We were full by the end of the meal, but could not say no to the Ube cake and it was well worth it! Would highly recommend this if you are in the area. read more

Pretty good food; similar to the Filipino restos I've been to in California. Best was the lechon kawali as well as their lèche flan. Best of all was their service! Really gracious, attentive & accommodating! Would def go back! Also across the street was a small Phil mini mart that was jam packed with goodies imported from the Philippines. WAY better than the small Phil market that I go to in Palm Springs CA. read more

The food is four stars. The service and table layout is two stars. I like the sizzling tofu and sizzling squid. But neither of them were actually sizzling. I was expecting a loud head turning show stopper of a dish to appear at my table. Maybe because it was squid and tofu they had to turn down the sizzle factor to retain the right texture. Because chicken dishes were sizzling properly. Matt G - why don't you write a doctoral thesis on Filipino culinary sizzling in the 21th century while you're at it. The squid had a good texture and made of chopped up squid parts rather than just the white rings. The sauce to ingredient ratio was good. They use a lot of carrots. It comes with rice, so you save a £ or so compared to ordering one of the dishes that isn't part of the "rice deal". The food was quite salty. A main course price for 8-9 £ is a really good deal. And it was actually very tasty. The dining space is very small even if it's on two floors and they really have tried to maximise revenue by cramming in as many tables as possible. Some tables you literally have to get out of your chair so that the table next to you can get in. Tables are a bit too close for comfort and thus I was forced to listen to a random elderly couple trying to communicate to each other in three different languages. When we first entered the place was so smokey and everyone was coughing. I picture a very small kitchen that can't handle the volume of cooking. I don't mind warm room temperature, but here it was almost humid like the deep jungles of the Philippines. Servers never came to check up on us or refill water or offer dessert menu. I would have wanted the Halo halo dessert, which is one of my all time favourites and hard to find in the UK, but I was just fed up with the slow service towards the end. read more

Food was whatever but this was the literal worst service ever. The woman got our orders wrong and when we told her, she got pissed at us and then just didn't serve us the rest of the time. No water the whole time we were there, nothing. Absolutely don't recommend this place until they get new servers. Horrible waitress. read more

We were looking for linoy food in London and this is where we landed. Let me tell you, my go to whenever in London.

What a gem in Earl's Court area of London. I have never tried Filipino cuisine before, and am in awe. The drawback is the dishes were a bit cold (sitting in the kitchen for too long?). It's a small eatery so don't expect nice decors or super clean condition. Food is unique though. Generally welcoming family ambiance. Nonetheless, the seafood platter (as well as the pork / chicken) platter are really impressive. Complete with a pot of soup. read more

What a find. Sisig? Lechon kawali? Get outta here! This is a family joint for family patrons. If you're unfamiliar with Filpino cuisine it would be most helpful to get a clue before visiting. Stick with fried pork, garlic rice, more pork, some squid, maybe a little soup or noodles to tie things off. Oh, and don't forget the halo halo. Guests have a choice of buffet or a la carte. Either way you win. read more

I have been craving some Filipino food for awhile now, so before I headed to London this past weekend, I took a look at recommendations for Filipino restaurants. They are few and far between if you don't live in California... or the Philippines, so I knew it was slim pickins. I saw reviews for this restaurant, but also got some recommendations from some pinoys working at the Royal National. I wasn't sure what to expect because I know that Filipino cuisine is different from region to region and it isn't meant to be gourmet, it is meant to be comfort food. It is really easy to find (take the Earl's Court Road exit when leaving the tube station). In fact you'll notice that there is a Filipino food store across the street and another Filipino restaurant right next to this one. When I walked in I was greeted by the smells of familiar dishes and people speaking Tagalog. While the All You Can Eat Buffet for £8.00 was a very tempting offer (they have a list of what is on the buffet to help you decide), sinigang was not on the buffet, so I asked for a menu. The menu had a lot of things that I wanted to order, in fact I almost strayed from my mission because they had just about everything my mom makes for me! If you are not familiar with Filipino food, sinigang is a tamarind based soup. It is sour in taste and depending on who is making it, it could be made less sour or more sour. In the soup itself is usually some kind of meat (pork, beef, fish, shrimp, etc.) and a variety of vegetables. The veggies also differ based on preferences... Sinigang is usually eaten with rice... well just about every Filipino dish is eaten with rice. I ordered the pork soup (they do have it with fish and beef, can't remember if they have it with shrimp) and if you want rice, you will have to order it extra as it does not come with it. The soup came in a fairly big bowl and with a nice sized scoop of rice on a plate. There was a bit of the rice that was a little soggy, but the rest of it was good. The soup itself had okra, eggplant, tomato, onion, daikon, and a few leaves of spinach. They also used pork belly in the soup. I am not a fan of okra so would've preferred some other green vegetable (or even more spinach), but enjoyed all the other bits. The soup itself was just the right amount of sour and salty for me, which made the order a great success. It was definitely a very filling meal which sadly means that I did not try any of the desserts =(. My meal was just over £9.00 and I thought it was well worth it. If you haven't tried Filipino food, stop in and try it! read more

This place is very yummy! I am here in London on business for a few months and had a craving for some Filipino food. I didn't actually think that there would be a Filipino restaurant in London. In California, we have them everywhere. I was pleasantly surprised at how authentic everything was and how delicious the food was. I came during the lunch buffet and they had everything from kare-kare, menudo, lechong kawali, dinuguan, pinakbet to traditional Filipino drinks like sago't gulaman. To top things off, the family that owns the place is actually from Batangas which is my mom's hometown in the Philippines. It's also funny how we all obviously had different English accents but when we spoke Tagalog, it's like we were all from the same place. Anyway, I will come back here again before I leave for California. This place feels and smells like home. And for anyone who hasn't had Filipino food, I highly recommend it because it's like nothing you've had before. read more

I had my first impression of Filipino food here, and it was great. Garlic rice has sprung to the top of my rice preparation rankings; it has the perfect texture, with the perfect amount of stickiness, and the flavoring is not overbearing but not too mild. I ordered Bangsliog with is fried milkfish with a fried egg and the aforementioned garlic rice. The fish was nice and crispy. However, the entire dish was a little too dry. If the egg was sunny side up or prepared in a fashion such that the yolk could spill over the dish and add some moisture then that would have been perfect. They also had some appeasing fried plantains on display, so I ended up ordering one. It was really good, but again a bit dry. If I had a very light dipping sauce, then I would probably be back there right now. The prices are great too. There is nothing on the takeaway menu for more than 9 quid. Also, they have a buffet for 8.50 or a takeaway buffet box for 5.50. The restaurant also has an authentic and genuine atmosphere. I saw my server hug one of the patrons as she left demonstrating the friendly neighborhood feel to the venue. read more

Location was okay, street construction. Order food Silogs was on the spot, bulalo need more flavor to plain. Waitress kinda hv attitude,

I saw this on Youtube and gave it a try while in London last week. The food was average and the service was painfully slow. We placed our order, and half an hour later, the server came and told us one of the dishes we ordered was not available. It took about another 10 mins for my food to arrive. My friend ended up getting the buffet instead, which I thought was not worth GBP 8.99 (can't really remember exactly the cost but it was around that amount.) When we were paying for our food, we were asked if we were paying in cash or card. They said if we were paying in cash, we had to give them the exact amount since they didn't have any change, which I thought was odd. Management will need to make drastic changes on their service as well as how they run this restaurant if they want to compete with the Jollibee that's opening next month. read more

Came in just in time to beat the dinner rush? The lower section was reserved for a large group so we made do with upstairs seating for our party of four. Food was pretty mediocre. We ordered Pork Sinigang - not a lot of pork, lechon kawali and pancit bihon. Also had halohalo for dessert (the best part). Not the best compared to other filipino in the SF/Bay Area but I can see the appeal to Filipino Londoners with minimal choices who may be missing a taste of home. Funny the large party that was reserved was mostly non-filipino. Hope they don't think all our cuisine tastes like that. Wifi available but could not connect. read more

We have been looking forward to checking this place out, and had been given positive feedback from friends that had previously been. So decided to make a lunch date out of it with some friends. On arrival our booking seemed to have been missed and it took some time and a few discussions to get seated. When finally seated we were served by a lady that seemed to take a obvious dislike to the ladies in our group... Not sure why? The food came out at different time, which was fine and overall was ok. It's more "home cooked" quality rather than restaurant and I think that's what the majority of the customers like, who appeared to be regulars (and predominantly Filopino). There was a mess up on our desert order which caused an awkward moment (with the server with the attitude) but it was rectified and turned up tasting pretty good. There aren't a massive amount of Filipino restaurants so if we have the hankering, we will come here again but hopefully we won't unintentionally upset the waiting staff!! read more

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. We learned of this place from the Internet, and their website said they were open all the time and that their buffet is open until 7pm. Upon arriving we were asked if we had a booking. We didn't have one, so we were told that they couldn't accommodate my wife and I. There's nothing on their website that says reservations are recommended or required. We were also told that their buffet is open only up to 6:30pm, which again deviates from what their website says. There wasn't even an effort on their part to try and see if they can squeeze us in. I am never going to this place again, as they do not seem to want my business. Other persons should also stay away from this place as far as possible and look for other places to eat. Giving this place a one-star rating is one star too much. read more

I would have given it 5 star if only for the past years I've visited they would have added another branch and maybe made the restaurant bigger! The place is amazing. True to the flavour and taste of filipino food. I have a british filipino mix parents and we have mix culinary in our home. The food they make is just extra special to what we have at home. I like that they had also created the buffet. It changes depending on which days you come around and the broth soups are just mouth watering. The buffet contains: They have 2 options of rice Fried with vegetable or normal white rice Noodles thick and thin Sometimes pork or chicken INASAL (grilled with special sauce) Beef or chicken Kare Kare. It has a very smooth texture and neutral sweet savoury taste Awesome when you have it with white rice! Sinigang OMG! THIS YOU MUST TRY. It's like stew with all kinds of summery vegetables and it can be in a buffet or you can order special MUST TRY Overall, You must look through the menu too. It has some special filipino food that even filipinos miss back in the philippines. Try the "TOSINO" or ask for the sweet sausages... its not actually sweet as candy haha BUT JUST GO AND TRY IT! x read more

We made a reservation for dinner, but apparently the wait staff doesn't communicate with eachother and sat someone at our table. When we arrived, we told them about our reservation and then the waiter had to kick the family out of the table. They took a long time to take our order and bring out the food. The food was mediocre. The sinigang was fatty and not flavorful. the sizzling pork was loaded with liver/kidney (something along those lines) which made it taste very bitter! If you are craving cuisine that tastes like water, is oily, fatty, and want to make another family feel bad, then this is your place. read more

Having spent over a week in Bristol, Trowbridge and Guildford, I had a little over 24 hours in the Kensington area of London. There was a ton of places to eat around the area of my hotel, the choices were overwhelming. To my surprise and out of all places, a Filipino restaurant just around the corner. The food was served quick, it was warm and very good. What a lucky discovery. Knowing I was only here for a short period, I stuffed myself silly. I did walk it off to the Royal Albert Hall, Princess Diana's Memorial at Hyde Park, etc. I would have gone to this place again if I was to stay longer. read more

I have been here once shortly after I moved to London from LA. Being Filipino, I crave for my home country's dishes. I yelped the best Filipino restaurant I can find and I was so excited to find this place. I came with my Filipina friend who was equally excited, unfortunately our excitement quickly faded. We were pretty disappointed that the food here was not up to par. I had the dinuguan (blood stew) but it was quite waterdown and not vinegarry at all. I also had laing here and sadly I found it to be lacking salt and taste. My friend and I shared the pancit and it was just mediocre. Thankfully, I did not bring my non-Filipino husband here otherwise it would really leave a bad taste to his mouth. Seriously, Filipino food is good unfortunately not here. read more

I booked kamayan night for 4 people while on holiday in London. The food took a while to come out despite the fact that they already knew our order a week in advance since we corresponded by email. Additionally, I found the kare kare to be very bland and the sinigang soup was far too salty. Also, while I understand that Kamayan night is meant to be eaten with your hands, when you have a stew like kare-kare, it makes it near impossible to eat without utensils. Overall, I was disappointed with the flavor of the food as I have had exceedingly better Filipino food at restaurants in NY and LA and of course, my family's own home-cooked Filipino dishes. read more

I've been coming here here for At least 7 years and never had a problem until recently when I visited on a regular day. I brought my friend with me because I wanted her to try Filipino food because she never tried it. I've normally always been seated within a reasonable time when fuller and I never new it to have reservation but in this particular day the server kept telling us that the tables were reserved which sounded very dismissive as he didn't offer a wait time or ask us to wait. I was going to wait regardless because we specially went to earls court to eat there and so we waited and waited and waited as people would walk in and be seated time and time again then I started looking at the time and these people were not coming within reservation time. I work at a restaurant I know how these things work. This Filipino lady customer was kind enough to to ask the guy to get us a table because we'd been waiting for too long and I saw his face of displeasure. He looked disgusted. I at that point was growing frustrated because I had a feeling it was because we are transgender. I've been there many time with other trans friends and never seen him before and so this was new to me. The service following was awful and disappointing to say the least. Restaurant need to train servers. Won't go here ever again. read more
