I LOVE Lush. So I really really really don't ever take baths. But I hosted a FAVORITE THINGS party and one of the BEST things to come from it was this GORGEOUS rose Bubble bath thing. I was SO obsessed with the scent that I had to go to lush and buy some more because I AM going to bathe. It's a Rose Jam Bubbleroon which my girlfriend said you should break into four or more pieces because it's SO bubbly and you get more use out of it. Honestly with the ingredients used, knowing it's vegan ans cruelty free it was well worth the money. I also got shower steamers which I'll say didn't smell much IN the shower but they smell good in the bag lol I also got my kids some bath stuff and my cousin a little gift of a Bubbleroon!! I stopped by Lush to pick out some items for a Mother's Day basket I'm putting together. Mom sure loves this place! The folks here were very welcoming, and helped me pick out some special items based on my mother's preferences. I appreciated the help because with so much product to choose from, this place can seem a little intimidating. There is a large display wall on the left side of the store that has an impressive selection of prewrapped gift boxes and collections of product. The designs are so festive and bright, it's difficult to just select one item! Shout out to Annamarie for being so helpful today! This is a great little Lush store! Yes, it's smaller than some, but it sure packs a punch! My daughter and I visited here when one of the two employees was on a break, and the one remaining sales lady was really running around, helping out multiple customers. Yet she still noticed my kid and me, greeted us warmly, asked if we needed help finding anything. I was impressed with her multi-tasking and her genuinely friendly disposition. My kid knows the Lush product line pretty well, and she knew exactly what she wanted to get, so while she beelined to that product, I browsed. I gotta say, I'm impressed with this brand. Sure, the prices are high, but it's an ethical brand and the quality of products is wonderful. At check-out, the sales woman chatted with us a bit. I wish I got her name, as she was really pleasant, and she clearly knew the product line. She threw in the bag some complimentary samples of some body scrubs. So nice! read more

Imogen was condescending to my grandmother who didn't know what most of the products were. I went into the store last evening to purchase a bath bomb gift box that I have purchased several times in the past for friends and family. I walked into the store after Victoria's Secret and had just used hand sanitizer on my hands which were clean. Upon entering my friend and I were accosted by the sales associate who told me to go back and sanitize my hands, which in turn I told her I just did. She said I could not enter the store because she didn't see it. This is very discouraging as I do not need to be rudely told by a sales associate which I assume was supposed to be posted up by the front door and not doing her job anyways, and being told that I have to Sanitize my hands again. I'm just going to have to shop elsewhere and refer my friends to a friendlier location. Will be cross-posting this review as well. read more

I just visited Lush to pick up some face wash and was helped by two lovely employees, Izzy and Lindsay. Both of them were so sweet to my little doggie, Maggie May, who I brought in a little sling carrier to socialize her. Izzy took the time to introduce me to a new face wash that might help with my oily skin, but ultimately directed me to Lindsay, who is the skin expert. Lindsay showed me a face mask that has seaweed in it, which she said would aid in the dryness and provide nutrients to my skin. Lindsay also recommended downloading the Lush app, which I wasn't even aware of, so that I could "favorite" the products that work best for me. They said I can also create a wish list of things that I want to try next time. I appreciate the amazing customer service that I always receive :) I'll be back soon for more of the recommendations they gave! read more

Just as I was losing faith in organic skin and hair products, I stumbled onto Lush with their herbal deodorant that actually works all day, their Angels on Bare Skin face treatment, and Daddy-O shampoo for silver / grey hair. The Cup of Coffee face mask feels like a secret weapon when I'm feeling tired and run down. Sounds like hyperbole, doesn't it? Try a sample for yourself. I personally wouldn't face Monday morning without this spa treatment on Sunday afternoon. Much has been said about their customer service, up-sale approach. I don't disagree with the positive and negative reviews; mostly I find the energized service helpful, and I speak up if I'm just browsing and want to enjoy myself. no one has insisted on shadowing me the way negative reviews portray. Mostly, I'm not browsing--I'm dropping by for a specific item and appreciate the clerks' help in locating it for me, along with a sample or two of something new. I even called ahead today to speed me to my next Saturday list check off. My package was waiting for me and I was back in my car with 7 minutes. Boom! I find the service sparkling, but I wouldn't go to Lush if I were feeling curmongenly (or I'd grab that Cup of Coffee face mask for a quick renewal before I headed into a store that prides itself in cheerful costumer service). I truly appreciate being able to smell and test the products as well as being able to easily return a product that isn't working for me--I've only done that once. Today I'm here for my son--Lush's skin products have been a blessing to his troubled skin, and they are far less expensive and more pleasant to use than the dermatologist's prescribed medications that dried up and irritated his skin. This is a much smaller Lush than the one near downtown Portland, but the service was still plenty friendly and the products are the same. In case you haven't been initiated into the cult of Lush, it's body and cosmetic products made out of fresh ingredients. But I didn't fall for these products just because they were "all-natural" (if glitter could be considered natural), I fell for their amazingly potent fragrances and the super high quality of anything you get yours hand on in the store. The Blousey shampoo is made a full 33% with fresh bananas. The rest of it could be arsenic for all I care, the smell and the moisture is ridiculous. My hair has made full recovery from my bleaching and perming. Their Happy Happy Joy Joy conditioner induces memories of rose gardens and mossy forest walks. The only downside is, the prices. Good luck escaping Lush with your any of your paycheck still at hand. I've walked into Lush and starved for the rest of the month due to pungent shower gels and facial cleansers. Just. BATH BOMBS, hell yeah! I love their bath bombs. They are a little bit of a splurge ($4-8) but they're worth it. Current fave: The 'Enchanter' bomb is a psychedelic color trip in a tub. Timothy Leary would have loved this fizzy ball of magic that expels heavenly scented neon strings of hot pink and yellow all around you before ending with crazy koolaid colored bath water. But shit, it's so damn frosty that I want to invite people in to look at it. I really do. Everyone is the store is knowledgeable, fun and tres chic! I don't normally ask for or want help in stores, but there are a couple guys that work there that are so fun, I can't help but ask for their latest faves. FYI, they use 100% vegetarian recipes & if you are trying to avoid preservatives (like me!) you should try them out. If I am making this sound like too much good clean fun, I want to temper that with a more serious story about their other products - namely their shampoos - my hubby is allergic to many ingredients. After trying forever to find something that wasn't irritating he had given up hope. Whilst shopping for myselfish self, I thought, why not find something cool for my TUB and my HUB? With the help of the staff at Lush, I was able to purchase a stout based shampoo that has been exactly what he needed. I love Lush! I first discovered Lush a long time ago in San Francisco. I had some time to kill waiting for a reservation at a restaurant so I came here in to browse. The employees gave great customer service and were very helpful. My absolutely favorite product of theirs is the Dream Cream - one of the best lotions!! Your skin will feel so soft and dreamy! I appreciate the mission of the company - fresh ingredients, ethical methods, no animal testing, handmade (each product has a sticker telling you who made it and when), and charitable givings. Got an orange shampoo bar, conditioner bar and Miranda soap - they gave a free sample for hand cream for nurses because my girlfriend it a care giver! Talked with the workers, really knew their stuff - very personable! The shampoo bar - great! Left a little bit of a stripped feel - kind of like Irish Spring where your skin literally squeaks against itself as well as the hair. The conditioner bar did not dissolve well and is not good for long or large amounts of hair - doesn't de-tangle. The soap! To die for, smells so good like mangoes or passion fruit! read more

Pushy Store Assistants never happened to me here. It is quite the opposite and I was in heaven. Talk and smile to them and they will help you. Other than that, they can sense your need to browse. ALONE. They probably sensed that I have cat like instincts. I want to be petted when I want to. I will greet and purr at you when I want to. My terms. I'm a customer and I'm always right within reason. I've always had a great reception here. They are always cordial. They give me samples when I leave. Lots of it. I love it. This cat is happy. Oh, meow. About the products, I thought they are like Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret - Strong and violent scents. No, they are just vivid to the eyes but all natural and organic at most. I am not going to rate the products here. This is about the STORE and the people who work therein. Went there today. Was prepared ahead of time with my list. They have stuff on the website that is not in the store, and stuff in the store that is not on the website. Was happily greeted by three different people. I know ahead of time that some people are unable to interact with a sales associate, and like to lurk around and not be bothered. And that people are more likely to write a negative review than a positive one. I have said that in about twenty of my reviews, so I sound like a broken record. THEY ARE VERY NICE AT THIS STORE. If you have ever worked in a restaurant, you are more likely to tip well when you go out to eat. People who have never worked in food service are clueless dolts for the most part when it comes to tipping. When you work in retail, it's hard to be cheerful and pro-product ALL *DAY* LONG. No, it's impossible. You can be a jerk all day long if you work in a cubicle by yourself with nothing by your computer. If you have ever worked in retail, you know the difference between good and bad service. THIS IS GREAT SERVICE. Period. End of argument. If you need to shop alone, be a kind and courteous person and succinctly tell one of the nice people at LUSH, "Um, I'm kind of an introvert, and would like to wander this store unattended, but I will throw up a flare the second I need help." I love this store it has lots of colorful bath bombs that make great gifts. I used the volcano foot mask and it felt great. I also used the marine face mask that has seaweed and calamine that is good for sensitive skin. They also have makeup and other stuff that I will have to try later because the stuff is on the pricy side, although they will give a small sample if you need to test the product at home. My favorite product is the lotion bars with shimmer that smell really good. I looked at their website and they have lots of products there that aren't available in the store. read more

Oh, how I wanted to love Lush. I wanted so dearly to browse and look at their intriguing products. But they make it SO DIFFICULT. You cannot even have a chance to read about products or ingredients or purposes, as multiple employees will be breathing down your back. Their employees are nice enough, but they need to change how they push sales and information on customers. They will not leave you alone to browse in peace or take no for an answer. The customer service is great. I walked in and someone ran down a list of products that they have when I told them what I was looking for. Kudos for being knowledgable in your products. There are testers for every product here. So the staff can test on you or on themselves, if you prefer. They have some interesting products too, like a solid lotion bar that you warm up in your hands then rub into your skin. And a solid shampoo bar that you wet, then rub into your hair, and it lathers up well. And fun flavored sugar lip scrubs. I bought everything that I mentioned because the products feel high quality. read more

Stumbled across this store while I was visiting Washington Square. I've been in LUSH before in my hometown, but not often because their high prices. I saw one of my co workers using a solid bath bar and asked her where she got it. LUSH has been on my mind since then. I walked in with the intention of buying a solid shampoo bar. A young man was extremely helpful. I asked a lot of different questions like how to use it, how long it lasts, what will it do for my hair etc. He was super patient, really excited to answer my questions and didn't rush me while I smelled each shampoo bar atleast 3 times (if i'm going to be buying shampoo that costs over $10, I need to be thorough with it. Right?) I ended up getting the Seanik and the Jumping Juniper shampoo bars. So far I've only used the Seanik and it's worked really well. My hair gets super oily and since using this, there's significantly less oil in my hair by the time I get around to washing my hair again. Also, it's a subtle smell, but smells great. I wandered over to the soap bars interested in all the bright colors. I've only ever purchased lust scent (Which has an amazing jasmine scent). I sniffed like all of them feeling pretty bad about myself because I couldn't make up my mind. Again one of the workers came over to help me. I told them I wanted something citrus like and maybe calming. He gave me the Snow Globe and the Angels Delight and I absolutely fell in love with both of them. I didn't know if I wanted to shell out like another $15 to buy both of them, so I asked him if I could buy a small chunk of each one. He ended up just giving me a sample of both of them. I didn't know they were given to me as samples until after I checked the receipt on the way home and wasn't charged for them. So apparently they do give out samples. I'm sure if I asked he would have given them to me. :] The Snow Globe sample lasted me a good 5 uses. Smells really nice and citrus-like too. Will be coming back to buy/sample more stuff. read more

TL;DR: GREAT product..to buy online. 5 star product, 2 star service. I've always had a love/hate relationship with Lush. I love their products but the store is just chaotic. It's overwhelming to me but the product makes it worth it. My visit this time however made me not want to return. The sales associates are aggressively friendly. My sister requested a sample of one of their face masks, one she's used before and loves. The sales associate then questioned her type of skin, told her she shouldn't use that face mask, told her she was wrong for using it and then turned his attention to me. She never got her sample. He then aggressively questioned my type of skin, what I was shopping for and then all of a sudden I was holding 5 pots of product. Don't get me wrong, he was very nice but just wouldn't accept we already knew what we wanted and basically ignored our requests. Once I finally escaped him, I walked literally two steps before ANOTHER sales associate came up to me, asked what I needed and then without letting me answer started putting things into my hands. Again, VERY friendly but completely ignored what I was saying and wouldn't let me just wander. I understand they are trying to help but I'm already overwhelmed by the design of the place and all the smells. Adding aggressive sales associates just makes me want to leave. I appreciate an offer to help but ignoring what I have to say, forcing product into my hands and ignoring my request to just wander is just too much. read more

My wife and I love Lush! we buy a decent amount of products per year from Lush. We have purchased Lush products all over Portland, in Tokyo, London and Madrid. The only thing that I do not like is that the employees sometimes can be a little bit too overwhelming. I personally appreciate if they say "let me know if you have any questions" but sometimes the employees follow you and try to explain everything to you. I miss entering the store and not have 2 employees coming to me asking me 5 questions in a row and trying to explain all the products. It's really nice to enter the store with my wife and just browse without being so observed. read more

You really can't just browse -they insist on helping and it can get really overwhelming. I went on my break from work today, the mall was hectic enough, I just wanted my shampoo! And I got it, and wandered a bit to see what new things they had. If I had been left to just shop around instead of being interrogated, I would have bought more. Instead I checked out and ran as quick as I could. My most recent visit was awesome. Kelly helped me find a few things I needed and was very informative about the products I was interested in. I came in with my husband and two children. She was even interacting with my eight year old and letting him test out some cool bath bombs and soaps in the water bowl. She wasn't pushy with sales at all. But of course it didn't mean she wasn't trying to help me buy stuff :) which I totally did! Lol. This is the first time coming to Lush that I bought something for myself and not as a gift for someone else. She made me feel great about treating myself! I dropped in based on the recommendation of an acquaintance. Note: if you are a first timer check out the website first if you get a chance. Jam more of an online shopper so now I know based on reviews what I should grab next time. I found the store initially overwhelming. Josh gave me a tour around the store and the lowdown on the products offered. I opted to take home the king of skin body butter & the brazen honey mask. I'm going through the body butter faster then I thought I would and it is almost gone after 10 uses. The shop is rather small and the mall entrances are not close to the shop FYI. It's best not to bring a stroller or large bags in the store. Children may think some are edible so keep a good eye. The store smells amazing and is tastefully decorated. Their products are on the spendy side for what the ingredients cost but they do it really well and saves you time from preparing them yourself. Their essential oil bombs are so fragrant that I use only a fraction at a time. The staff at this store are extremely helpful and have the answers to your questions. If you've never been to or used Lush, they'll get you set quick. My favorite are the bubble bars however they have new ones ever so often and they are different.
