I've had Biscuits & Blues bookmarked for a long time, and I finally came here last Saturday night…read morewith my man. I randomly saw an ad on Instagram for Lavay Smith & Red Hot Skillet Lickers. They looked & sounded really swanky so I was intrigued. I'm glad that someone took a photo of the parking details on here so we parked at that garage. Upon walking into the place, I asked the front desk person about the parking, and he gave me the parking discount stub so we were able to just pay $10 for parking at that garage. We tried to find street parking, but it was impossible. The place looks swanky. The stairs were adorn with little blue lights and flowers, which was lovely. The room downstairs was dimly lit with each table having a touch lamp with 3 levels of brightness. The restrooms were individual gender neutral stall rooms with a sink area. When I walked into the restroom area, this guy just walked out of a stall, and he just smiled at me then walked out into the room without washing his hands!!! I later noticed him, and I pointed him out to my boyfriend. Lol... He was the trombone player of the band. Lol.. We ordered the following items: - Golden Hour Spritz - pretty refreshing & bright - Louisiana Lemonade - also refreshing & sweet - Biscuits - pretty yummy, I liked the butter - Jambalaya - pretty tasty - Shrimp & Grits - cheesy and tasty - Peach & Blueberry Cobbler - too much blueberry and not enough peach; this was okay Service... It was mixed. Our server didn't bring us waters that we told her when we were ordering. We had to flag someone down for waters. She didn't come by to check on us or refill out waters. They're pretty quick at clearing plates when we finish them. Then when the check came, they tried to charge us for posters...? We didn't get any posters. Wtf... weird. We told her about it, and she apologized and removed it. Nonetheless... We still have an enjoyable evening listening to live music with the lovely jazz band. We weren't a fan of the trumpet player as it was too loud and shrill sounding.

Cute little place to see a live jazz show. Very intimate and nice setup. But food is mediocre at…read morebest. If I come back I would only get drinks. Biscuits are dry and hard. We ordered a variety of food and it lacked flavor. From appetizers to main entrees. Staff was friendly and quick. It's the food that was disappointing.

I came here with a few buddies for an evening of live jazz and everything about the night landed…read more The musicians were amazing, the room is gorgeous, and the bar itself is a beautiful thing to look at. The cocktails were the real deal. Every drink was spot on and clearly made with intent. What really sealed it for me was the service. One of my friends was almost finished with his cocktail when he spilled what was left. Before we had even asked for anything, the floor manager came over, cleaned the table, took the glass, and came back with a fresh Manhattan. He did not have to replace a drink that was nearly gone, but he did. That is top notch service in my book. My only small note is that the snack options stop at nuts and olives. A little more to nibble on would be nice, but it is not enough to hold against them. I will absolutely be back.

Our server was full of personality, re-filled our water, and was an all-out pleasure to meet. Accessibility: Attended with elderly family member and staff was quick to attend to our needs. From the front door, there are 3 steps up to the main bar level. If you need to go around for no stairs, it can be a long walk around the corner, into the hotel, and down the back ramp into the bar. If choosing the latter option, drop off on Market instead of Annie street. Nearby parking lot too.

We had a great time listening to some great music from June Cavlan and band. The main seating area…read moreis on the lower area and is a nice traditional jazz bar setup with a good amount of seating and dimly lit ambience. The stage is small but enough for a small combo band with full size piano and good sound system. This was a bit of a learning experience for us as we discovered that there was a minimum food order of $30 per person in addition to the $50 we prepaid per person for the cover charge. We ordered a Double Smashburger with fries, additional side of parmeson fries, dinner salad, glass of wine, and mineral water. The hamburger, fries, and parmeson fries were delicious. The salad and dressing was good. The waiter was kind enough to let us know that there was a $90 minimum for our table of 3 that had not yet met. We decided to order 2 desserts. The Chocolate Ganache dessert was fantastic. The second dessert we ordered was a Guava Flan. There only a handful of dishes that I have ever eaten that have made it to my list of #1 worst dishes I have ever had. I was the last to try the Guava Flan and my party was eagerly waiting to see my reaction since they had already tasted it. The Guava Flan was unfortunately horrendous and not edible. I am not sure if it had gone bad or if the one who made it had issues with their taste buds or what...but it was absolutely the #1 worst tasting dessert I have ever had the displeasure of having. Aside from that, we had a great time. We will keep in mind the additional table minimums should we return to this establishment.

Such an interesting RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED adventure…read more Outside location: Horrible! Homeless, junkies... whatever Inside location: let the fleecing begin! -$50 per person for the table reservation ($100) . No problem - there was a note saying $20 per head min. Order. No problem But in reality.... eventhough we ordered 2 prefix dinners, which should have covered the minimum... on the final bill additional $32 added for fees ($8,8 +16)...Humm... so this 80 minute adventure cost me $220 ($20 was tip I left). The gouging was so bad I would have left 1 star. Left 2 stars -because the space itself is nice... (minus the fact that you are packed in like sardines. I felt couple in front of us was literally at the same table ‍, they weren't that's just how close the tables were placed. For more context... we were 3 tables back from stage, but I could clearly see every drop of sweat on the perfomers face). - good sound system (very loud) -food was good.... actually felt the food was the highlight of the evening. - service was ok, but not noteworthy. Side note: eventhough most of the crowd was mature in age.... there is no elevator and the stairs are not well lit. Seems like a bad recipe for falls, but on this evening no emergencies. ‍ .....‍‍‍ describes the evening
