Just had my first real Lush experience and it was the best. Styx was immediately friendly and available for all my questions and needs. They helped me test out some hydrating and exfoliating face masks, walked me through picking out a shampoo bar for my scalp needs and gave me all the information I needed to make an educated decision on what cleanser would work best for me. This Lush location is inside of Perimeter Mall on the second level closest to Dilliards and across from Bath and Body Works. Lush products are 100% vegeterian, handmade and there's no animal testing. I received a gift card and was excited to make a purchase but felt a little overwhelmed when I walked in. There's a lot of products and I wasn't really sure where to start; I was so very glad when one of the associates came over to assist me. I definitely recommend speaking to an employee if its your first visit. The associate was very personable and knowledgeable and made a few suggestions. I also went with some of my sister's recommendations. My purchase: big blue bath bomb - Lavender and lemon oils with sea salt and seaweed.  you've been mangoed bath oil - Zesty lemongrass, lemon and lime oils with organic shea butter, avocado butter and mango butter. avocado co-wash -Fresh avocados and a nourishing mix of cupuaçu butter, cocoa butter and shine-enhancing cider vinegar. karma wash card- patchouli, sweet orange and lemongrass perfume travel size soap karma solid perfume- melts as you apply on your wrist karma lotion- Hydrating almond oil blends with the finest fair trade cocoa butter to soften and balance dry skin while orange oil brightens your skin tone. I've only tried the avocado co-wash so far and I'm not a fan. It's a solid shampoo bar that you slide on your hair or create a lather in your hands. A lot of my old favorites have been discontinued. *sad face* However, I have found some new favorites: * The Ro's Argan Body Conditioner is so wonderful after a shower, and when I use it I don't have to put lotion on. I mostly use it after working out at the gym. * I love the creaminess of the Pearl massage bar, but I do dislike cutting the pink "pearls" out of it, but they scratch like a mofo, so I slice them out with a knife. * Other massage bars of note: Strawberry Feels Forever and Soft Coeur. (Note: Lush changed the way some of the massage bars are made and for me, they don't last as long and aren't as creamy. The ones I've listed are the creamier ones.) * They changed the formula for the Charity Pot lotion and it smells much, much better and purchases of it support efforts to improve the environment and the lives of people. I still use Rub Rub Rub, Ocean Salt and Aqua Mirabilis. I've tried the self-preserving version of the Ocean Salt face scrub, and it irritated my skin, so I went back to using the original version. I'm still trying other products, but the ones I've listed are what I purchase most often. The people who work here are still the best. They are so knowledgeable about Lush products and are incredibly friendly and helpful. I've yet to meet one that is annoying, and I'm easily annoyed. I have been a lush customer for 3 years. They have great all natural products for your face, body, and hair. In my first impression I thought their products were expensive. However, the price of their products is comparable to how long the product will last. Some of my face washes will last up to 6 months. The product pots are recyclable. My son has icky eczema and a friend recommended Lush's Dream Cream. I'm sooooo thankful she did. This is the only lotion that calms his skin during a break out and keeps the eczema at bay. The price tag is a heartbreaking $29.95 before tax. Though I cringe at the price I gladly pay it over smearing my little one with useless lotions and steroids. This was my first visit to the Perimeter store and let me just say amazing!!!!! There were fun "experiments" happening all over the store. Chad gave a group demonstration of the Frozen bath ball where we had to yell "bath bomb" to ignite the fizz. My little thought it was the best thing ever!!! Honestly so did I. We also tested the Buffy, which is an moisturizing, exfoliating bar. Can I say amazing!!!! My arm feels as soft as a baby's cheek (the kissing one ). Chad took the time to educate us about the Dream Cream, solidifying everything I love about it. He also recommended a calming bath bomb for the little one which has camomile and lavender, shaped like a robot. How could I pass that up! And yet, Chad wasn't done. As my son touched and smelled almost everything in the store, Chad demonstrated a moon bar that made smooth, moisturizing bubbles. We topped of the demo with a bubble filled high five!!! I'm a big fan of Lush, and since discovering the line last summer, I make it a point to purchase something different every visit. In addition to my old standbys, (Zest hair 'gelly" and sea spray) I bought a popcorn lip scrub -- makes lips feel tingly and soft -- and a solid shampoo that smells heavenly and works nicely, without too much lather. It's a prerequisite to be friendly and solicitous when you work at Lush, and the employees at the Perimeter shop are no different. Helpful without being pushy. I like that! And if something is wrong with your purchase, or you simply don't like it, bring it back. Good customer service coupled with quality products -- all with an expiration date and a rendering of the person who made the product -- make for a great shopping experience. Still on a quest to find gifts for Easter and once again, LUSH didnt let me down. Its sad how hard its been to find adultish gifts for Easter. I've been tryin to find an Easter movie for over a week and cant believe that 1946 Easter Parade, 10 Commandments, and Ben Hur are the only choices. I digress to say that LUSH has FOUR different bath bombs dedicated to Easter and even one of their wraps with a cute Easter bunny motif on it. I went with two bath bombs and left the wrap because IMO there nothing to use it on after the holiday. Greeted friendly as I walked in the door, and helped instantly. I love the fact that the people that work here know the product, but they still over pushing it on you like YOU'VE GOT TO BUY THIS. I have never ever used Lush before although I have gone in to pick some up as gifts for friends. Today I was feeling different. I went in and looked around. SERVICE: There were only two people working at the time. A guy and a gal. I encountered the gal first and she just told me to let her know if I needed any help. I ended up with a fizz ball in my hand, The Big Blue. I made my way over to the register where the guy employee was. He peeked to see what fizz ball I got to ring me up and said, "that's my favorite." So it just sparked a convo of how it's my first time trying Lush products, etc. He was very nice and decided to show me how to use it and recommended a bath bubble bar, Blue Skies, to use with the fizz ball I chose. He mentioned that he loves using the two together because of the complement in aroma. I know as an employee there, your duty is to sell the products. I totally understand that, but this employee was very genuine. He showed me some hair products as well because I had asked about "wax" or a "cream" to use to style my hair. My reason for not saying anything sooner is I've had a heck of a lot to deal with on my plate. Anyway, I placed an order with Lush in October, the idea was that I had a specialist that I had to travel for and seeing doctors is always stressful, especially when seeing them for the first time. So I thought I'd splurge on some nice bath bombs for the hotel after my appointment and I have always heard wonderful things about Lush and their products. However nothing ever arrived. Ever. What did keep arriving was the hair and skin pills that were supposed to be a gift for spending a certain amount. I have always wanted to work at LUSH but I think making my own stuff in the same premise as them would probably not work out. Thankfully they make a ton more things than I do so that when I sell my stuff I can spend all my profits on my skin. My favorite things are.... 1. Toothy tabs. This is like one of those sleeper products...you'd have no idea they carried such a thing. Toothy tabs are toothpaste! They look sort of like breath mints but you break one up in your mouth then brush. There's a bunch of different flavors, mine is Sparkle. It's kind of lemony and peppery. My mouth feels so clean and the aftertaste isn't so harsh like toothpaste. It's $5 for 40 tabs which is pretty expensive for toothpaste, but seriously, no weird crap in there and the little box they come in can be recycled. You sure can't say the same thing for a toothpaste tube. I've also tried Aquatic but I don't think they're nearly as strongly flavored as Sparkle. 2. Celestial moisturizer. I have pretty sensitive skin when it comes to moisturizers, so I'm more than willing to shell out $25 for this stuff. It's lightweight, it takes not even a dime size amount to cover your face, and it smells SO GOOD. It smells like almond milk and orchids. Only problem is sometimes it makes my face a bit too oily despite almond oil really being the oil in there. 3. Mask of Magnaminty! Oh my god this $25 for a tub but it is so worth it. I use it a couple times a week because I wear a hat at work and it basically means I trap sweat on my forehead for almost an entire day a week. It makes things so much better. It's just a bit messy to use because there's adzuki bean pieces in there and they'd much rather stay on your hand than go on your face. I've tried Ocean Salt but like I said, sensitive skin doesn't really go well with that one. But after the salt burn subsides my skin does feel really good. I wish they'd sell it in a really small amount for people who want to use it sparingly for exfoliating. And of course I've used bubble bars and bath bombs but I think they're vastly overpriced unless you've got a really comfy bathtub you want to spend lots of time in. I don't so I don't get them anymore. I didn't think the people working here were rude at all. I like this one far better than the one in Macy's in Lenox. The girl who helped me most recently was really friendly and we had a good talk about corgi/husky puppies. They definitely try to upsell you all day long so being unfriendly doesn't seem logical. And that's why you might want to buy online, haha. But I agree w/Saira, for pushing being handmade and all the green initiative stuff I'd definitely like to see them get rid of all the crap ingredients that start with P. Most of the face stuff has parabens, which I would really rather avoid. read more

I felt super-pressured to buy at this location, and when I did select some things to purchase, the gal at the register was rude - "Hurry up! I gotta get home!" It was 15 minutes before closing. I can't get over how great this place is. Every single time I've walked in this store the sales staff has not disappointed. They are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and good sales people. Not pushy, but they make you feel comfortable. Things can get pricey but a lot of their products last a long time and have about a 14 month shelf life. My favorites are the Tea Tree water, Lemonly Flutter (for cuticles and other dry spots, and puts Burts Beeswax to shame!). I've used their Enzymion moisturizer (almost $40!) and it's okay, but I haven't had that "holy crap, this stuff is amazing" feeling with it. Also - their customer service staff - AWESOME! I emailed them regarding SPF products and received an email within 24 hours! The email wasn't a generic email but one that was actually written out. How often does that happen nowadays? I live for Lush! I traveled to Perimeter Mall from Birmingham just for this store. (Of course we looked around the rest of the mall also!) Upon arriving, I had to approach the sales assistants for help, but once I did they were ready to go! (Maybe sort of a "back off unless they want it attitude"?) I didn't get my sales associate's name, but she was a cute little ginger who was very helpful! I went there with the intention of buying Christmas gifts and changing my chemical filled acne routine with a natural one. She demoed several of the cleansers on the back of my hand, and even put on toner and different moisturizers so I'd know what a full routine would feel like! She heavily insisted on Ultrabland, but I just couldn't take the leap of faith. I ended up getting Herbalism (which I've been eyeing online for a while) and I'm happier each day with it. She also told me to use the tea tree water and vanishing cream. I almost died when I saw the $42 price tag on the moisturizer... but it's worth every penny. Moving on to gifts, I planned on buying one for my mom who has rosacea. I did tons of research on all the products I planned to buy and ended up being correct on choosing the cleanser Aquamarina and the Eau Roma toner for her. I also bought bath bombs, some massage bars, a bubble bar, and the Breath of God perfume for several of my friends who are girls. I even splurged and wrapped them in the knot wraps! I was impressed with how much Lush fit into the small space, while still being able to move around. I was also impressed that the employees helped each other and went to each other for advice and help on customers needs. I have Keratosis Pilaris on my arms and my SA knew immediately what I needed (Buffy bar for anyone wondering, it's gotten rid of the KP and old scars from it in less than 2 weeks!) which showed they know what they're talking about! I was a bit disappointed that they were out of several products such as mask of magnaminty and grease lightning, but they apologized and gave me a nice sized sample of grease lightning. (I just ordered them online because they're finally in stock!) I also bought a fresh face mask (Cosmetic Warrior) which seemed to work pretty well. I've heard you need to use them consistently for weeks on end to really get it going, which is sad because they are in-store only and this is 2 and a half hours away! (I'm hooked so I'm going back to get refills on products and try more masks anyways!) Overall it was a great experience and well worth the trip. It cost roughly $220 by the end of it. I'm hooked. I admit, I'm a bit of a hippie at heart. That's what 4 years at Agnes Scott will do to a girl. That aside, I first experienced their products when I was visiting a friend in St. Louis. I tried some of her body wash and decided I needed to get some of my own. This past weekend I finally got some disposable income, so I picked a few things up. I ended up with the Ocean Salt (yum!), a blackberry bath bomb, & Charity Pot lotion. They even threw in a free sample of the Curly Whurly shampoo for me to try. I used the bath bomb that night and I can see this turning into a weekly habit. I love the lotion as well. It's got a light scent which seems impossible to find for most body products. I work in an office where we're all pretty close together and one of my biggest pet peeves is people coming in drenched in lotion or perfume. The scent stays on enough for me to smell it, but not assault my co-workers. Plus, my skin feels awesome. I want to try some of their face products. I went in yesterday to get a few things that I had run out of and ended up leaving with an awesome hand treatment and a few new products. Blayne, one of the lovely young ladies working there, was so sweet. After looking around for a few minutes, she asked me if I'd like to get a hand treatment. Totally! It was wonderful. Even now, my hands and arms feel brand new. They have some new bath bombs that smell so good and a couple of soaps that I haven't seen since the last time. Lush took my online order for a birthday gift to be delivered to a friend. The online system gave me an order number but I never received a confirmation email and was suspicious. When I contacted them by chat it turned out that they had placed a hold on $207 in my account but had also placed a "security hold" on my order and had not decided whether they would honor it - even though I followed up by chat and by phone. This was a birthday gift ordered for next day delivery. The employees could give me no reason why my order had been flagged and I would not have known until it was too late if I had not followed up proactively. This would suggest that they cannot be trusted to honor online orders. I am expected to wait until they decide to either process the order or release the hold on my money. Lush Cosmetics, Today, I went into one of your stores today for the firs time. I love your products so much and always order them from online. But today, I decided after a long day at work to take an hour and a half drive to the closest mall that had a lush store. Needless to say, I was VERY excited. My friend and I walked in and were immediately met by the incredible aroma of all the products and were greeted by a really nice employee of yours. He asked if we needed anything and showed us some products/helped us with sampling a few of the ones that I've always wanted to try from the online reviews. After I had my hands full with a bunch of things that I wanted, I finally spy "Skin Drink". I've read about this product thousands of times and have ALWAYS wanted to try it. So immediately I start rambling on about it to my friend, obsessing. We open the one on top, which appeared to be the sample as it was sitting on its own next to a big stack of the containers. We rub it on and LOVE it. Immediately, we hear from behind us "ughhhhhh, you opened a live product......" in a really unpleasant voice. We apologize and explain to the associate that we thought it was the sample because of how it was place and put it back. The associate grabs a bottle that was different from what the rest of them were placed in and says," This one is obviously the sample, see where it says try here?" with a very aggressive tone. We say we are sorry and feel very insulted. She sarcastically replies, "uhhhh its fine" as she turns away grabbing the product we had opened. My friend and I stared at each other in disbelief. We were having such a great experience and this associate was so rude to us for no reason. Both of us work in customer service and were so shocked at how someone could act that way..... especially with this being our first time in the store and not knowing how everything works. I put all the products back and only got the one that I was out of. I went to the counter and stood there for a minute while the same associate had her back turned to me filling out a form. She turns around and has says, "Oh my apologies, I was just filling out the form regarding the product you opened!" I pay for my product and am putting my change back in my purse.. She stares at my friend and I and has the NERVE to say "I really hope you guys enjoyed that lotion!" in the most sarcastic tone. We just stare at each other jaws wide open.. How dare she. I completely understand when a customer pisses you off and you just want to scream, but you need to grow up and realize that its just a job! This woman completely ruined the experience for us. I hope that if I ever do return to this store that this person will not be there anymore because she made it THAT terrible for us... I know that was a lot to put but I just feel like corporate should know about this because I've been really upset about this situation all day and feel that her rudeness was completely unacceptable.
