The room has a new apron for you to use and each spot has all the supply's you will need for the class. The instructor walks you through all the steps at the perfect pace. Tucked into the recently opened Shops on Third complex, Gladdie's specializes in cakes and cup cakes, with the ability to customize your order for special occasions. They have seating for that treat you crave, and even sell Coca-Cola products! I like the interior and its overall vibe. I bought a Celebration Cupcake over the weekend, and it was sensational, perfectly crafted and adorned in fun vanilla cake and icing. I counted at least 12 cupcake or cake flavors.

That is how we came up with our name. She is someone we aspire to bake like. In January 2023, my sister and I decided to share our love of baking and started a cake business! Myself (Barb Wiedenman) and my sister, Cindy Gordon, both reside in Ankeny where we have lived most of our lives. We know the community well and wanted to add something that was missing. Add sweetness to your life, eat cake is our famous slogan! We tried so many recipes until we got it perfect! We spent a lot of time in the kitchen together getting it just right. Once we had the perfect texture, taste and flavors nailed down, next up was the size. Who doesn’t love a delicious cake to themselves? I know I do, so that’s when we came up with the Baby Cakes! At first we started with just a few flavors and have added more over time and we do have some seasonal ones. Along with our Baby Cakes we also have Cakelets! Those are bite size cakes! You can easily order the day before which is what I did this time. Ordered a flavor of the month which was a S'mores flavor and the newest gluten free raspberry lemon flavor. Easy. Paid online and picked up the next day. It's easy to park and get into the building. It's a cute little shoppe. Lots of party favors and little gifts. They have the different styles on display right inside the door. Took it to the birthday party that evening and enjoyed it. Forgot to get a picture of the cake, but they are always picture perfect. It was delicious. The icing is so rich and one of the best parts. I know its a chain, but really it's delicious and hard to beat. My personal favorite is still the lemon blueberry which is seasonal.

We picked up several items:…read more 1) milk bread with ube 2) milk bread with red beans 3) ube rice krispie treats 4) milk bread cinnamon roll 5) scotcheroo 6) matcha Blondies with white chocolate chips Coming from Chicago, it is relatively easy to come across milk bread and/or baked goods with ube and matcha. The first three items did not have a strong flavor profile and therefore didn't leave much of an impression with us. The ube in the rice krispie treats was very subtle and I'm not sure what the black components were. It looked like black sesame but we couldn't taste it. The latter three items were more appealing.
