Perfect. Just your hometown Mexican restaurant, exactly what we were looking for amidst the lake and tourist sites. Loved it.

I have been meaning to try this spot for dinner for over a year. I finally stayed in town on a night of the week they are open. It's a seat yourself establishment. Pretty decent sized inside for how small it looks. I tried the shrimp taco special and the shrimp were grilled perfectly, but they had no sauce or anything! Dry. So I asked for hot sauce. Very fresh and tasty shrimp though. I also loved the chips and salsa better than anywhere else! Thin and crispy chips! With as many Mexican restaurants that exist in Grove, I probably wouldn't pick Lupe's first. But I enjoyed my dinner. read more

It's true, everything is served out of styrofoam to go boxes whether you eat there or not. They charge $1 for each refill of soda. No free refills unless you get water. The food was ok but it would taste better on a plate. read more

Lupe's has always been our favorite here!! For a very long time. It has gone so far downhill that I am writing this and I never do this. They use only carry out containers, no plates. The food itself is pretty awful and greasy now. I am very sad to have to say all this! read more

Truck Stop quality Mexican food. If their enchilada/red sauce is not straight from a can, then they put a lot of effort in making a sauce that tastes like it came straight from the can. Same for the refried beans. Then there was the rubbery wind it up on your fork cheese. Even though the plates had been under the broiler to give it a good melt it was still rubbery. It was an hour and half until closing time and they were out of the hot salsa. The mild salsa is heavy on the garlic. Very good service from the friendly wait staff. I am not going to bother with the details of our meals...everything was average at best. If your car has broken down here then eat here, otherwise go to downtown Grove to eat Mexican food. We have now tried all of the Mexican restaurants in Grove and this one shakes out at the bottom. read more

We came to Grove to pick up a new puppy, and asked about the best Mexican restaurant in town. No question, we were told it is Lupe's, and we were not disappointed. I had the number one combo with a cheese enchilada, crispy ground beef taco, and his chalupa. The refried beans were the big surprise! A good test of a good Mexican restaurant is how amazing their refried beans are, and Lupe's are terrific. The melted cheese on top was perfect and I wish I could eat refried beans this good every time we eat Mexican food. The taco was also great. I love a real fried taco shell. Made me wonder if I could've had it with flour, but the corn shell was great. The rice came out a little late, it was not fantastic, but OK. But overall the meal was superb, and I will definitely come back if we're back in Grove again. Five stars. read more

Yummy Mexican food...best in Grove. They are always quick to seat us & bring the food hot and very quickly. When my son had a senior prom date, I phoned a few days before and they got a small table for 4 persons held on a busy Sat night. I love their enchiladas and beef tacos but my son gets the chicken quesadillas and says they are good. It's a very small place and generally doesn't open up until 3:00pm but still great food. read more

Edit 1: See previous review below. I just wanted you to be aware of the "Mexican Pizza" I posted some photos of it. It was absolutely by far, the worst meal I have ever had in any restaurant ever. Just absolute garbage, DO NOT ORDER It. You can tell by the photos what it tasted like. Canned chili on top of a tortilla layered with rice and beans, 100% zero flavor, starving and couldn't force myself past 3 bites. Just eww. It warrants a drop in star, no restaurant should serve something like this. Embarrassing. Original Review: It wasn't the worst Restaurant Experience I have ever had, but it was Bad. First off the salsa.... BLAH. Go buy a can of Tomato Paste and pour Pepper in it, mix with 2 tablespoons of water, and you have their Salsa. The Place has this Greasy Feeling, If you have ever worked fast food more than a 2 hour shift, you know that Greasy feeling you get on your body and clothes? I had that after a 45 minute dining experience. The Service was good, The chips were ok, my food was pretty amazing. Their Queso was Outstanding. I really wished I had remembered what I had got, because it was the only good thing about the very forgettable restaurant. I live here in Grove and my family and I try to make it in to Lupe's on a regular basis. I really enjoy the Chili Colorado and the wet burrito. Chips and Salsa are also great. Ask for the hot salsa, it's a poorly kept secret that will add some fire to your life. :-) I have yet to have anything other than great food here and the service is consistently exceptional. This is really a testament to Carlos and Lupe's because Grove has an epidemic of poor service and this has never been a plague on Lupe's. I guess the quality of the food that the staff gets to enjoy must be a factor. Great Job guys. Keep up the quality work. read more

I'm a local and this is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants (La Casita is the other one). Salsa is the amazing and so are the chips! The chili relleno is the best I have ever had! Lupe's is better than any Mexican Restaurant in this part of Oklahoma. Been going there for years and never got a bad meal. They have hired more wait help and has cut the service time a great deal. Their new menu is easy to read and not cluttered with meals seldom ordered. The cheese dip and guacamole are great add-ons to the free chips. read more

The customer service by anyone, but Cora is by far the worst we've ever had in any state or country we have travelled. We have given this place multiple shots at getting it right. Our first experience was great. The second, third and fourth time our order was wrong. The first time it was wrong the waitress said "sorry" my handwriting is so sloppy" and laughed. Everyone ate their meal while I waited for mine to be remade. The second time, we sent it back and it had to be remade again. The third time my order was wrong I got up and left, leaving my party and met up with them later. It has been a few months since then and the food is good so we decided to give it one more shot. This last and final time the waitress was extremely rude verbally and with her body language. She brought an empty extra plate, placed it on the corner of the table and used the plate to push my arm out of the way. When we let the boss know, the waitress came to our table and insincerely apologized, followed by snarky body language and a laugh to her coworker. This is unfortunate because the food is good, but not worth the way they treat you. The drive to coffeyville is quite a bit further but the food is just as good and the customer service is far superior. If you want decent texmex and don't care if your treated like crap this is the place for you. If you would like decent food and a pleasant dining experience run, run far far away! read more

This is hands down the best New Mexican restaurant east of Albuquerque. The chili rellenos are fresh not fried like most pretenders. The red chili is superb.
