I couldn't submerge all the way but I made it about 2/3s. The infrared made the sauna so much more comfortable and I look forward to trying it again - so many potential benefits! The location has great parking, is clean, calm and serene, and the staff is warm and welcoming. I'll ve back

I gave that a try with their bogo offer. And honestly, if you can deal with a Rochester winter, you can cold plunge. I'm trying it to see if it helps with muscle aches, etc and while it's too soon to tell. I do feel more awake on the days I've come in. While the saunas have a speaker you can plug your phone into, I'd suggest bringing headphones if you're going to cold plunge or contrast (which is going back and forth between the sauna and the plunge). They do provide a plastic bag for wet if needed. And plenty of towels. I would prefer having a clock of some kind on the wall instead of the portable timers but I get how others might not like that. Plenty of parking in the parking lot. And they have various membership packages.

The price is great at just $60 for your first two sessions, $45 per session after that, and they have deals on packages. Upon walking in, the place is super clean and well decorated. You have to take your shoes off before entering the actual spa. Once you're all checked in, they hand you a bag with: socks, sweatpants, and sweatshirt that are your size. You then go into the bathroom and change into the outfit with nothing on underneath. They asked us ahead of time what we wanted to watch on Netflix. They put you on a bed that has a cocoon-ish heated, weighted blanket. They Velcro you in and put headphones on you. They explain that you can un-Velcro at any time to stick a hand out or whatever if you get too warm. They also put a call button in your hand in case you need assistance. They check up on you at 30 mins and bring a cold washcloth for your head at 45 mins. The 1 hour goes by, then they take you out and lead you to a small, quiet room where you can cool down with some eucalyptus water. As you can see from my pic, my drip session was successful. I felt like all my water weight was gone (and you have to drink a lot of water the day you go!) and I felt relaxed. I had to stick my hand out for the last 10 minutes of the drip because it was so hot, but still tolerable. I didn't cool down for a solid hour after the session! Cool and different experience. I will be back!

I mean it's basically losing water weight because you do sweat. You go in and they give you a set of their sweat pants and shirt to change into (no underwear) but everything was clean and comfortable. Then you get wrapped up like a burrito and put into a heated bed. They give you headphones and you can pick a Netflix show. The room we were in had curtains as we wanted to be together. So you could see the light from other TVS. Also, there were clearly heard sounds of people talking in the hallway. I will say I fell asleep a few times and my muscles did feel relaxed afterwards. My wife lasted about 40 minutes instead of 60 and I think I lasted 50 minutes. As you do get really hot. We might return for our 2nd session in the winter as you get 2 sessions with the intro package. But I don't see this as something we'd do in the summer! Definitely give it a try!

I am a recent concert to infrared saunas and did a quick search and found this place close by. Right by Bushnell's Basin in Pittsford. Don't let the sterile exterior of the building deter you. You might be in a random office building, but once you enter the space, it's totally relaxing and inviting. A chill spa environment that's a little bit quirky and fun. Evelyn, the owner and massage therapist is incredibly welcoming. I have had really great luck in multiple cities with independent self-owned providers of personal services with aestheticians, beauticians and the like. Nurturing Hands is no different. The infrared sauna set up is so lovely, down to the last detail: an assortment of books, water, warm towels and a wide selection of robes! There is also an option to sauna with friends, though I'm more of a solo sauna-er. After my 30 minutes in the sauna relaxing and sweating out some toxins, Evelyn gave me a wonderful and relaxing massage. The 75 minutes flew by...next time I'm booking for at least 90 minutes. I am definitely coming back and recommend everyone to check this place out if they are looking for a relaxed, low key environment for a great massage.

Maybe it's my Finnish ancestry showing itself, but I love some quality sauna time. All of my…read moreexperiences up to this point though have centered around a typical stove or steam sauna. This was my first visit to an infrared sauna. I arrived a bit early for my appointment, but was welcomed warmly by Rachel, one of the owners of the studio. After I filled out some quick paperwork, Rachel then gave me an explanation of what differentiates infrared saunas, including the related healing benefits. We walked back to sauna room #4, where Rachel then explained the space, how the sauna worked (temperature control, changing the chromotherapy lights, etc), and noted the available robe for my in-sauna time, as well as the cool, lavender scented cloth available to use at the end of my experience. She did note that in room #4, the speaker available inside the sauna (if you were to plug in your phone or such to play music) was prone to making white noise when "on" but not in use. I definitely turned off the speaker during my time in the sauna. There was a laminated sheet in the sauna room that explained the different chromotherapy colors and what benefits they provided, all of which was helpful information. While I cycled between a couple of the colors, I spent most of my time in red (activates the circulatory and nervous system functions, as well as helping to balance hormone levels), strong green (providing anti-infectious, anti-septic, and regenerative stimulation), and blue (helping to relieve headaches + migraines, colds, stress, nervous tension, muscles cramps, and a couple other issues). While enjoying my 45 minutes in the sauna itself, there *were* a couple things I noticed... most of which relate to the fact that the larger, individual room (which contains the sauna) is open on top. The walls don't go floor to ceiling, so the light from from of the business, coming in from outside, inevitably pours into the individual room. Personally, I would have liked a room that was more closed off. Besides minimizing light from outside, it would also buffer a bit of the sound from outside the room (whether a phone call to the front desk, other people visiting the sauna studio, or various other happenings). After my sauna, I made my way up to the front desk to pay. Rachel ensured an additional pass for another visit was added to my account (a special offer for new clients), and she also extended the deadline for the pass to be used, as I was coming from outside of town. A delightful surprise. TL;DR I left the sauna studio feeling relaxed and refreshed... there are just a couple things that I personally felt could be a tad bit improved to make the experience as zen as possible.
