There was only 1 staff member at the front and I was a bit taken back by the open-kitchen concept. I'm not saying that in a negative sense, but you can literally see every corner of this shop. Everything is really cutesy looking, and you can definitely smell the sweet aroma of the treats. I'm not great at describing dessert places, but I know a good one when I taste one. The cupcake's icing is TOO sweet. We had both the cream cheese and lemon - easy to identify, but it was too much for me and my friend. The top layer of the cupcake was slightly crunchy which made it really nice. While the inner cupcake was moist, I didn't feel like it had much taste to it. In fact, other than the crunchy top layer, I didn't think this cupcake was any good. Yeah, the cookie was a decent size and had those nice crispy edges, but the core was too thick. It didn't leave any "wowzer" moments for me and my friend. I don't want to deduct too many points off the cookie, because they are meant to be eaten fresh and that is when you can properly rate the taste. Having said that, I think this place is okay but there are many places in Toronto that glow in comparison.
