I now see another amazing massage therapist at Indy Massage Company named Matthew. He is pretty great, and I look forward to relaxing on his table each month at IMC. He is intuitive and firm yet incredibly gentle, and I'm able to just surrender and let him work his magic. I've mostly only booked Swedish massages with him, but one time I booked a longer session where he really worked out the muscles in my upper back and shoulders, which really needed attention. Once you arrive, you fill out a form about your health and skin. Then wait for your student to come and call your name. Then, the two of you will go over your health screen, allergies and concerns. They take you back to the main room. Massages are done on one side of the hallway, and esthetician services are done on the other. No matter the service you get done, you are taken to a "room" which is just divided by curtains on all sides. Everyone speaks in low volume, as to not disturb the other customers. The student will take you to your "room" and explain what will happen. Then, they leave and give you privacy to undress, as needed for the service. After the service is complete, and you redress, the student walks you back out to the lobby. You are encouraged to give them constructive feedback that will help in their education. If you don't feel comfortable telling them directly, there is a written survey you can fill out. Tips are not required, but if you do want to tip, it must be done in cash directly to the student.

Before I arrived I was told to park in the backyard and come in the back door. Once I parked in the backyard, I was unsure if I was at the right place and walked around front to see the sign. There was a red paper plastered on the door stating the City of Carmel acknowledged that the spa did not meet their basic requirements of massage salon and customers should be advised it was closed. Went around back anyhow, which was my mistake. Woman who was working left her client with the door open to guide me to a room. Sat for almost forty minutes waiting. Therapist arrives, but can speak almost no English and keeps using Google translator. I did not get the massage I wanted and she spent most of her time massaging my hips, which I did not want. She also left several times to answer the phone or deal with another customer. I may have received 15-20 minute massage with orchestral church hyms playing in the background. At the end, she refused my groupon and put her boss on speaker phone to argue with me about the price, which was $85 without the tip. The boss kept telling me I could schedule another massage to use my groupon. Not sure, why I would since they didn't accept it the first time. Avoid this place, I wish I had.
