I had been looking for toy aussies since about Aug 2017 and searched many breeders online. I found Melinda's website and thought they were a little expensive for my budget but I found myself coming back to it for several months. I messaged her sporadically and she answered all of my questions which made me feel comfortable. I ended up going on a work trip to Salt Lake City in March 2018 and figured this was meant to be. I got in touch with Melinda to see if I could visit the cutest puppy she had posted online. She quoted me for the puppy at that time. Later, she said he would be a tiny teacup therefore driving the price up but assured me she would honor the initial price. She gave me some time alone with the puppy and told me about his personality which I appreciated very much. From my observations, the dogs appeared to be of great quality and the way she cared for them was as if they were her own babies. The puppies were mostly potty trained and socialized which was important to me. She made the pick up incredibly easy. I drove to her ranch and she had given my puppy Ramon a few natural bones, a blanket, and his favorite toy. We constantly get compliments on how well behaved he is and was the star student in his behavioral classes. Fast forward, almost a year later I decided to get another dog and without a doubt in my mind wanted her to be from Lulu's Lil Aussies. I told her what I was looking for, I sent my deposit, and she sent a picture of the puppy to make sure she's what we wanted. She then sent us regular updates until I flew in to pick her up. Her husband Clark met us at the airport right on time and he made the transaction so quick and painless, especially bc he knew I was tight on time. I appreciated that gesture. I am very impressed with Melinda and everything about Lulu's Lil Aussies! We were looking for a Mini Aussie and a friend tagged me in a picture that Melinda had put up on her website. She was perfect! Everything we ever wanted in a mini (color, gender, eye color, etc) I contacted Melinda (on a Thursday) and told her I wanted that dog and I would send her a deposit. We drove to Utah that next Monday and met with Melinda and our new baby we were naming Harley! She was beautiful and perfect in EVERY way! These puppies and their parents are home raised with so much love! And the four days between the time I chose Harley and picked her up, Melinda sent me videos and pictures so I could be kept in the 'loop' (so to speak) with her. Since then I've formed a bond with Melinda and we correspond very often about Harley (and even about her Yorkie sister Sugar) She is by far the most caring loving breeder I've ever met. I can't say enough good things about Lulu's Lil Aussies. I wanted a dog that would be about 10 lbs when grown, tri color, brown eyes and a sweet disposition as he will be trained as a therapy dog. I was concerned that buying a puppy without seeing him in person might put me at a disadvantage but Melinda had my back and helped me to pick out the perfect little guy. As soon as I saw Max's picture I knew he was the one. Melinda would send me photos and videos of Max playing and interacting with the other puppies. I had to postpone getting him by two weeks so during that time Melinda made sure he was crate trained and housebroken. I was in touch with the "nanny" during the flight plans and he kept me informed as to the flight and any delays. Max is incredibly sweet and smart and we couldn't be happier. Even my husband who has never interacted with any dog we've ever had, cuddles with Max and they have become fast friends. I got my little Raven from Lulu's after my border collie mix passed. I suffer from PTSD, and having a pup by my side helps tremendously. About a year ago I fell in love with one of Melindas pups and decided that I couldn't not have her, the entire process of getting her went very smoothly and she always kept us in the loop of any updates on my puppy. She knew how badly I wanted her so she managed to ship her to us sooner than we expected, she arrived in her crate with a blanket that smelled like her mom and siblings along with some food she was used to eating to make it easier for us. I agree to put in a deposit of $500 dollars via paypal. Melinda says I am 3rd in line for first pick but the ONLY person in line looking for a red tri male. September 27th Me: Have maggie and Ryker's litter arrived? (which she expects a red tri from) Melinda: "no not yet." October 7th Melinda: Maggie had 4 puppies, one a red tri male! October 12th Melinda: I'm pretty sure he's yours, I just need to work out the pricing based on eye color, it could take another 2 weeks or more. I will take pictures tomorrow and will send you some. He may have one or two blue eyes. Me: any eye color is fine so long as he is healthy. October 15th Me:"my birthday is next week and hearing you have a red tri male and I could have him at home sometime end of November is so exciting." Melinda: "I hope to take pictures today." Same day my husband and I see updated pictures he looks great we decide we want him blue eyes or not. Me: Melinda we want to pay you full asking price 3k in full today. Melinda: He is 3k with 2 blue eyes...he will keep them. Me: Yes, I think we want to go ahead with him if thats ok. Melinda:"ok so $3000 cool?" Me:"ok." Me: When you would like me to pay and how? Melinda: cashiers check or wire transfer...but I prefer cashiers check. I can send bank info. November 13th: Melinda: "Julie I don't know how to say this. You told me you did not want him if he had two blue eyes, you said you could not pay that much. I sold him and I found you another one." Me: "No we don't want another one we want Bart. We agreed to pay full asking price, we put in a deposit 2 months ago so we can have first pick." Melinda: "no you said you wanted something in the 1200-1500 range and you can't do 3K and you looked into other breeders." Me: "you just recently said 3k cool? I agreed." Melinda:" I sold him to a family for a little boys birthday before thanksgiving." She then texts me pictures of another dog I have never seen asking if I want him for $1800. Me: I'm really upset Melinda, we really fell in love with that dog and agreed to your asking price. I'm sorry for the confusion but we want to take him home. Would more money change things? Melinda: No..more money won't change things. did you see the pictures of the little boy I want to sell you for $1800? (more pictures of this other dog) November 14th: I send her this email with a timeline of our correspondence asking her to reconsider selling him to us or returning our deposit. I noticed she already returned it to us at 1AM the night before. We got our 500 deposit back but my husband and I are left in shock completely heartbroken! Melinda was not transparent with us and we cannot recommend her to anyone. Even if we wanted another dog from her the trust is broken. Please do your research there are other champion dogs that are not being sold for $5500. I don't feel this woman is honest or decent. She also has other reports on her on rippoff.com among others if you google her full name which is not a great sign of her business practices. It should of been a red flag but I dismissed it. I am truly at a loss for words to describe how incredible Melinda and everyone at Lulu's Lil Aussies are. I picked up my new teacup australian shepherd from Melinda's husband today at the airport in Salt Lake City to bring my puppy back to my home in Manhattan. I had been searching for mini aussie breeders for five months, and when I found Lulu's Lil Aussies, I was convinced they were probably one of the best purely because of the information on their website and the photos of their beautiful dogs. I reached out to Melinda because I wanted to put a deposit down for a spot on her waitlist, but had tons of questions first, as this is my first dog. Even before we were her customers, Melinda was so thorough when answering our questions and gave us so much of her time. We put a deposit down shortly after talking to her, and about a month later Melinda contacted me to offer me the exact puppy I told her I preferred - a tiny teacup blue merle female puppy with brown eyes. The dog was really expensive, so I was hesitant at first, but I have wanted a puppy my whole life so I decided to go for it. She was only about three weeks old at that time, so throughout the next five weeks before I could take her home, Melinda updated me every couple of days with photos and videos, and we talked on the phone multiple times because I had so many questions about getting her home, what to do once I got home, and the process of getting payment to her. Melinda always mentioned how incredibly friendly and snuggly my puppy was, and I squealed every time I would receive a photo or video from her. My puppy's eyes even turned blue, and she now has the most stunning blueish grey eyes. I swear I could not have imagined a more beautiful puppy if I tried. Melinda produces the most jaw-droppingly gorgeous dogs. However, none of this excitement could have compared to how I felt when I first held her and realized just how right Melinda was. I live with two other people who have both had dogs their whole lives. I am sitting with them now, on my first night home with my puppy, writing this testimonial, and they are absolutely in awe of this puppy. They have never seen a dog who was so loving and playful and happy and content so quickly. Melinda and her staff have some magic going on at their aussie ranch in Utah. Within the first hour of being home, my puppy went pee and poo both on her pee pad. She has eaten and already seems so comfortable with us. I have now realized that having a puppy this well socialized (and mostly potty trained at just 8 weeks!!) is more than worth the price you will pay for one of Lulu's Lil Aussies. When Melinda's husband placed my puppy in my arms at the airport, my puppy took to me immediately, slept in my lap for the entire flight home, and is already such an immense source of joy for me. We picked up our most perfect little Finley boy this week and he could not be any cuter! He has the best little personality and has been handling crate and potty training so well - you can tell Melinda had trained him really well before we got him. Our pick-up process was really easy, I was met at the airport by Melinda's husband who was holding the fluffiest little goodest boy who smelled SO good and has a beautiful coat - clearly well groomed. It was quick and seamless and off we went to Finley's new home in San Francisco. Prior to picking him up, we had a call with Melinda where she answered every single one of our questions (and there were a lot). The vet agreed with everything she said and noted "I like this breeder already" after we showed him how Melinda had detailed information about both of Finley's parents online. It is very evident that the puppies are born and raised into a loving home and that Melinda loves and takes pride in what she does.
