Conveniently located just off I-80 interstate LaGrange exit, this is the place to go if you are in need of gas, a car wash, a pit stop, or some good food ... this stop is worth it. Outside, there are loads of pumps so you don't have to wait for a gas fill, and they also offer the usual propane exchange tanks. They also have a very nice car wash, if you are in the mood for that. Inside the store, it is very clean and they offer the usual registers and impulse buying stuff (cigarettes, slushies, candy, chips and the like). But now if you would rather have something a bit different ... they can take care of that also. Orland Park Bakery set up a satellite cafe in the store to bring you sandwiches, doughnuts and other pastries, and really good coffee. Heinie McCarthy's has a setup inside also and brings you fresh fried chicken to satisfy your fried food needs. These two food offerings really set this Gas N Wash apart from the competition. The only problem with the special food setups is that they are not 24 hour establishments ... but during regular hours, they are the tops. Give this place a try next time you are buzzing by on the interstate ... you won't be sorry and you'll probably mark it down as a must stop every time through town.

Finding an honest mechanic you can trust can be a daunting task. My girlfriend I moved down to the…read morearea recently and obviously had to find a new one. My girlfriend's car had some issues, the main being the catalytic converter went bad, and the ball joints were loose also. She originally brought the car to another local joint and they quoted us $2500 just for the converter. After doing some research on neighborhood Facebook pages and making some calls, I fell on bringing the car to Book Racing. I tried calling another recommended local joint for a quote, and I never received a response. Roberto was incredibly attentive and quick. He walked me through various options on the converter such as different prices for the front or rear, and the difference between factory or aftermarket parts. He called me back a couple times to seal the deal. At the end of it we were quoted about $1800 for the converter and ball joints. A gigantic saving that made the repair easier to chew. We even received the car quicker than expected! The repair is also under a 3 year warranty. We'll be going here for any future issues!

Duck Stop didn't disappoint and rivals the food you'd get at Portillos! Beef was tender and flavorfully delicious. Lots of menu items. While the travel center itself is no Buc-ees, there are plenty of snack and drink options at the store if you're not looking for hot food. The friend enjoyed it so much, we went again before heading to the airport! While he had another beef, other menu options were tried. Here's some pros/cons i that I experienced... PROS- - Everything cooked fresh - Beef was delicious - Those fries and tots were spot on - Burger and chicken tenders were better than average - Pricing not bad CONS- - Fountain soda center---lots of options but the options we chose all tasted watered down. Grab the ice and a bottle from the plentiful options in the store. - Paying .99 extra for a little cup of giardinera? Bring in your own jar instead! This place will def be my go-to for a beef and tots!

If I had known what was going on I might have waited to update, but alas.... My fellow Yelper Maureen was spot on about this place; and even convinced me to give it another try. All I wanted was a fill up and a car wash. I waited too long to choose which wash from the pump so I had to go in to purchase it. Lovely! Everything is bright and nice again, clean, well merchandised. The Subway, Baskin Robbins and Dunkin Dounts are still here too, I was glad to see. The employee who rang up my wash was extremely friendly and helpful. She issued me one of those Speedy reward cards and told me that I have 4 washes to go until I get a free one. Cool! And the car wash is back up to par. Yessssssss! I'm so glad I like this place again. I missed it!
