From the moment I arrived, there was a clear lack of communication between the venue owners. The woman in charge was rude and unhelpful from the start. Not only was she unpleasant, but she also badmouthed the bride and groom, which was completely unprofessional. We had paid an extra $700 for an additional table, and when I asked about it, she threw a fit and accused us of trying to get things for free--despite it already being paid for. Throughout the night, she continued to be rude and uncooperative, so I chose to work directly with the wait staff, who were much more helpful. To make matters worse, the staff packed up all the leftover food and kept it for themselves without even offering it to us. Although we had the venue booked until 1:30 AM, she started trying to shut the event down by midnight. Our event was elegant, and the guests were respectful. Natasha (our overly awesome event planner at High Point) was so helpful, and SO right! She recommended a different type of menu completely to include heavy appetizers that everyone could easily grab that were filling and delicious. We got SO many compliments on the food. Crab cakes, bacon wrapped scallops,chicken egg-rolls, and a cheese plate that was to die for were just a few items that impressed people of all ages that were there. Old people are picky! I had so many people ask who catered the event. Besides the food (which was not only a good quality but was served at peak temps to perfection) the service was worth every penny. Second, their staff was incredibly helpful, accommodating and patient with the numerous changes we made to guest count and the menu. (thank you to Jessica for putting up with all the emails!). Let's be honest, bulk cooked food for 100+ people is never going to taste as good as what you get at a tasting, but this was close as you could ask for! The Texas beef brisket was still so tender, flavorful and juicy, and the Peruvian chicken was similarly juicy and not over cooked (and chicken is so easy to and so often overcooked). All the desserts were also excellent but the bread pudding especially was amazing. We heard praise from numerous guests about the food especially about the brisket and bread pudding! They brought EVERYONE there to life. It was amazing seeing everyone laughing and having a blast. My favorite part, though, is that they captured these moments for us and had guests sign by their photo strip in an album for us at the end of their time there. My wife and I went through the album and laughed at a lot of the strips of our friends and family, which is a fantastic addition for us to look back and remember our celebration other than just our wedding photography. I can't recommend them enough. They were very friendly, professional, and helpful in every possible way. I wasn't sure which size photo strips I wanted and which what border or color to have around the pictures or which backdrop to use , but Amanda was patient and helped come up with the perfect combination. They weren't too expensive at all, especially when you consider all the memories being captured and how much life it pumped into the party. We can't thank and recommend them enough.
