I found this sleazy company on Thumbtack.com because I needed a reasonably priced vendor for a craps table. I was throwing a "Harlem Nights Themed" party and this company was reasonable. When I realized that they were a one-stop shop company, I was elated. I booked their DJ services, Photobooth and Craps table. Vinny (the owner) was very accommodating and responsive at the beginning of our correspondence. I had to unfortunately postpone my party and I understood that the 50 percent deposit was non-refundable. He was very understanding and seemed empathetic. Fast forward a few months later, I was able to reuse his services. This time, I no longer needed the craps table and asked for a Photographer instead. Here's where the issues begin. Vinny told me that the final payment was due the day of the party. He backtracked and stated that he wanted the money two weeks prior to the event. I told him no. He also promised me a photobooth that would have props, a printer and logos for pictures. However, he sent a Ringlight and a cellphone as our photobooth. The picture quality was bad and the lighting was horrible. Mind you, I spent about $400 for said photobooth. The DJ came to our "formal" event dressed in sweatpants and a hoodie. He barely had any energy and didn't play majority of my Playlist. I didn't receive uplighting as promised. When I contacted Vinny the very next day to express my dismay, he assured me that I would receive a full refund and prints for my photo booth . The photographer that he sent was also unprofessional, as well. He screened my calls until I threatened legal action against him. All I asked him is the status of our photos. It's been two weeks and Vinny has gone radio silent on me. I will take legal action against him if the issue isn't resolved. Stay AWAY from this loser!

I do believe Stacy is stepping away from the business, hence the MC in training, but we were lucky to have her with us. We also added the photobooth to our package, manned by Jason Moon. For our initial meeting with them, we just met at a Panera and they were so pleasant and very low-key, which we loved. They definitely have the experience and were confident in their work, but were not at all overbearing, which we had encountered with other DJ/MCs we interviewed. They even gave us tips to ask other DJs/MCs in case we were interviewing with others, like insurance for any equipment and such. We just got a very good, solid vibe from them, and we definitely were happy we hired them. After signing a contract with them (all online, so no need for additional arduous meetups), AJDJ sent us a link to their own online music system where they created an account for us to use. On this site you can list all your wedding details and songs you want for whichever part of the wedding. And they respond very quickly if you leave a message. Juan called me a week before our wedding to confirm songs, timeline, and any additional 'events' (like bouquet toss, which we didn't do, and shoe game, which we did do). They even organized the whole Shoe Game for us! We didn't have to worry about that at all! I thought I'd have to write the questions or explain to them about it, but nope, they handled it, we didn't have to worry about even one question, I just said yes, I want that, and poof, magic, it was sooo much fun. And Stacy is amazing. She was almost like our day of wedding planner. She checked in with us about shifting things when we were running slightly behind schedule, she really helped make the reception run soooooo smoothly. Not just the reception actually, she helped with our processional entrance pacing for the ceremony and reception entrances, and made sure we got to use the photobooth we hired. I wished we pushed the guests more to use the photobooth, it also came with a memory book we used as our guest book! No regrets here, only praise. Everything ran perfectly =).

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the DJ services for my wedding…read more Pre-wedding: Leading up to the event, Donnell was extremely responsive, professional, and kind over the phone and email. However, as the wedding got closer, I was surprised to learn that he didn't have any standard touchpoints or phone calls built into his process. For such an important vendor who needs to handle specific announcements, cues, and emceeing throughout the night, I found that unusual. I ended up creating a very detailed document outlining every cue and announcement and specifically requested a phone call to review it. I can't imagine how the day would've gone without that call--because even with it, several cues were still missed. Ceremony: The microphone cut in and out throughout my vows, even though I had asked for a sound check beforehand. I also asked for him to start music at a specific cue (the officiant would say a particular sentence and exit the platform we were standing on). He missed that cue and we stood there in several long moments of silence. Luckily the officiant was my best friend and was still able to maneuver the proper timing for us so that we kissed at the right moment in the song. Reception: During the reception, I asked for a surprise dance floor opening after taking a large group photo with all the guests. We went over my vision several times, but he completely botched it. Then, the microphones weren't working well for the speeches. Throughout the rest of the night, his energy was completely flat. To give him the benefit of the doubt, I did have a smaller crowd, and people weren't as eager to dance as I expected. But I felt he didn't read the room well or adjust accordingly. He played several songs that weren't even on my "play" list, rarely spoke on the microphone, and didn't make any effort to encourage guests to dance or stay engaged. End of the night: I had planned a "last dance of the night" for all our guests, but about fifteen minutes before 10PM, people were already gathering their coats and leaving. Instead of jumping to the final song or encouraging guests to stay, he said nothing. I ended up having to personally ask people to stay and send my maid of honor to tell him to play the last song so we could have that final dance. Again, just didn't read the room. Communication and attitude: Whenever I tried to give feedback during the night about music choices, he came across as rude and dismissive. While I understand that it was a challenging crowd, as the bride who knows the guests best, I wish he had been more receptive, friendly, and enthusiastic. Overall, if you're more of a type B bride who doesn't have any specific cues or requests for him, and you have an easy crowd who you know will dance (I thought my guests would - I was surprised - makes me wonder if it was them or him) then you might be fine. But overall I would say I got what I paid for as he was the cheapest DJ option we found; I regret not splurging on a DJ. Luckily our wedding day was still beautiful, but it was definitely in spite of the DJ services.

Andrew Larris and DJ John Carmichael elevated the event to levels that I was unaware a wedding could reach. There was not one person sitting at the party when dance music was playing. Everyone was dancing and having an amazing time and they did it without cheesy props or annoying gimmicks. The 01 handled everything from lighting to a photo booth all while maintaining this classy atmosphere of fun and excitement. By the end of the reception, there was not a dry eye in the house. The 01 Music is responsible for taking a magical day and making it something even more amazing. Music selection was perfect for the crowd.
