When Jose came to our home for a free estimate, I was impressed by his professionalism and attention to detail in asking what we wanted and in taking the wall measurements. He has a very likeable, calm demeanor. He also recommended a different tile company to us other than Home Depot. We were convinced and hired him! He wrote a proposal for the job details and final price. Jose arrived on time and got right to work. He has a crew, but he completed this work by himself. The floors and counters were protected with cloth. He also covered the patio area with a large cloth so the patio surface was protected. He installed the tile and also requested specific grout and schluter to perfectly match the tile. He perfectly cut and fitted the tile in the pattern that we requested. Jose worked so fast that he was able to complete this small job (48 square feet) that day. He was also able to apply the grout. He thoroughly cleaned the work area. I was overly impressed because initially this was going to be a two-day job. He cares about the quality of product produced. I seriously and highly recommend FRG Tile Company. I have filed a dispute against Legend Stone with the Contractors State License Board which is still…read morein the process of being resolved. Since filing the dispute, I found that the license they post on their website is not theirs. They do not have a business license for Legend Stone, but for My Kitchen 2 Go and it is registered to Gustavo Adolfo Sepulveda, who doesn't work for Legend Stone. They remodeled my guest bathroom and new vanity top in master bath which turned out to be a nightmare. My previous review from March 2025 has already listed my multiple complaints against them. When they started work on my home they asked for $3200 instead of the $1000 which was on our contract. I misunderstood him and wrote the check for $4200 instead which I didn't ask for a refund because I figured I would have to pay them down the line. Somehow they kept forgetting the over payment and kept charging me large amounts which I didn't question at the time. They charged me $300 to hang the mirrors and medicine cabinets which didn't get done. So, on the last day Sebatian and his dad Mario Malvaez were here to hang the cabinets and mirrors which we discovered the cabinets had a big crack inside and we didn't have the mirrors in yet. Sebastian said I owed them $865 for final payment but I said the mirrors & cabinets were not up yet and I asked when they would be back. He didn't answer me, so I asked again and he said they were done and wanted a check for $865. I was home alone when Sebastian approached me, I was sitting at my desk in the living room, and he said he wants the check. I became very uncomfortable and wrote the check as he looked over my shoulder. I called Wells Fargo to place a stop payment on the check, that was on 11/16 and the check cleared my bank on 11/18. After some investigation on my part I discovered their bank had changed the check number so it could clear the stop payment. Once they were gone I locked my doors and called the guard at the front gate and told them to never let anyone from Legend Stone in the park again. The guard assured me they would not come in. I live in a retirement community so we have some protection from outsiders. No one can come in without a ok from the residents. My husband and I agreed to $12,780 plus materials but we ended up paying $18,345. They still owe us $300 refund for not hanging the cabinets & mirrors. The results of my complaint with the Contractors State License Board are in. They are unlicensed in California, in violation of one or more sections of the CA Business & Professions Code. The citation will direct the violator to pay a civil penalty assessment, the amount of which will be based upon the severity of the violations. The citation also orders the contractor to cease all unlicensed contracting activity. They also advised me to file a claim through the civil court, which I am in the process of doing. Beware of hiring Legend Stone, Inc.

This left missing and damaged tiles that required replacement. I was fortunate to find Certified Unique Tile. Chris came out to assess the situation and provide a proper quote. He explained the process of providing a sturdy and waterproof foundation. The original tile (Carrara Marble) was manufactured as 11x8.6 size was no longer made so he needed to cut down each tile from 12x12. He was able to perform all the work in one day and my wife and I could not be happier with the results. The tile and grout come out perfect. I recommend Chris for any tile (big or small) work.
