Small little local fave! Laid back and casual. Was busy when I arrived. All of the tables were taken which is a good sign. Lots of choices. Had the Luau hot sandwich! Delicious, but messy! Get lots of napkins!

After reading other reviews I had high hopes for this place, thinking it should be better than Subway across the street. I ordered the Garbage Grinder and it was ok, but nothing special. If you're not a fan of onions be sure to tell them to go light or leave them off, they put on a LOT of onions.

One, tiny little meatball on top of some weird textured noodles, for $17. Hard pass. Won't be back.

Maybe it was my bad for ordering spaghetti and meatballs at a sandwich place. I asked for extra sauce, got a normal amount of sauce after they charged $3 extra for it. I got one, meatball. One. So for $17 this is what I got. The noodles taste like they're gluten free or maybe just not done. Not Al Dante done, just not done and not good. I'm sad and still hungry AF. Two stars for the garlic bread save.

This place is more take out than eat in, but so be it. Luigi's is always packed when they are open, and they are generally open for lunch. They have a facebook page that you can check for hours, but expect them to be closed Sunday and Monday, open 11-6 most other days (I think they close at 5 pm on Saturday). Luigi's is super divey, not much more to say about decor than that. A few tables and chairs and an ordering counter, that's about it. On the other hand, what more do you need? There is a pretty neat wall 'o' pictures to take in while you wait, and my companion even got a picture taken with the nice little old lady that runs this place for the wall- pretty much made his week. Prices at Luigi's are pretty high (like $8 a sandwich) for the area, but just like at Yeong's you get a lot of food for what you pay. This spot specializes in grinders, and is the only place like it in the area. Their claim to fame is the garbage grinder, but I particularly like the turkey grinder- thick slices of turkey breast, veggies, melted cheesy goodness, all grilled up and greasey. Not the hugest sandwich I have had but definitely not Subway either... authentic Luigi's. Yum! The original owner is the little old lady in the back that still does most of the cooking; she is sweet as pie and a damn good sandwich maker. Her daughter was running the register when I visited and was extremely friendly. I wanted to thank her for helping out with a fundraiser at the local community college, and she was very gracious. Luigi's is like that scary house that people tell stories about only to realize a really nice geriatric person lives there that they have missed out on getting to know for the last thousand years... so do like in Monster House folks and get in there!

This is a great place to eat. I recommend the hot pepper sandwich and French dip. A nice place to sit in the rainy weather and enjoy a meal

Wish I could give more than 5 stars for the sandwich! A little sketchy in the outside but the sandwiches were absolutely the best!

We did not expect to find a French place anywhere in the vicinity, but we did. We had such a great time at Restaurant O, we went back a second night. We made reservations for Friday at 5. When we showed up, we were greeted by Patricia and instantly fell in love with the look and feel of the place as well as Patricia's hospitality and attentiveness. The menu blew us away-- it had all the things: Foie Gras, Oysters, Escargot, Tartare... the list goes on. We're used to enjoying this type of menu in Portland, but finding it in tiny Coos Bay was a real treat. The wine list was fabulous. Everything we had was prepared with great care and presentation. We were treated like royalty. Thanks for making our 10th special, Patricia and Restaurant O! I highly recommend this lovely dining experience.

We had reservations and the hostess took us to an upstairs dining area with a beautiful view of the bay. We brought our own wine and Bill was great and opened both bottles. The room was nicely decorated with various pieces of art along the walls and on the tables. The appetizers of pork belly buns, truffle fries, and Thai spiced steak tare tare were wonderful. Chef O also sent us a complimentary appetizer as the food took a little longer. It was very nice of him to do so. Bill told us they were down one chef and had the party of 30. I had the dungeness crab and prawn linguine, our friend had the special of the day with steak and prawns, and my hubby had the ribeye. Everything was tasty. Definitely go back again.

Even though I had a most complicated relationship with him, I still have fond memories of him and miss him. My son and husband ate here about a year prior and have never stopped talking about it and promised to bring me on our next trip. I have a weird dietary restriction, but I could eat off this menu and anything I wanted, which made me soooooo happy. I had the pork roulade and a raspberry beer for dinner. On Sunday I had the Bananas foster French toast. All of the food was excellent, well crafted and well served. We had the caramel pecan cheesecake and my husband, who is the biggest critic and curmudgeon around desserts, was in love with it. I saw a few reviews that the food wasn't authentic, but as it happened the table next to us was a German gentleman (from Germany ) and he seemed absolutely delighted with ALL of it. As was the ghost of my stepfather. It definitely has an old school dark wood, typical German vibe going back to the late 80's/90's. If you want something hip and trendy, well, go somewhere else. Perfectly cooked they most certainly were. The amount of pasta is large enough that when combined with the prawns and the in-house made bread, that you could feed a hungry logger for sure!
