Their best bet has to be the carvery at £7.45. Three choices of meat accompanied by mega Yorkshires and loads and loads of different veg. They also have a two meals for £7.95 menu which represents very good value. I've never had a bad meal there myself. When the weather is decent they have a large play area with a brilliant climbing frame and plenty of seating for the doting parents. If you say you are going to sit out there the staff will give you your drinks in plastic 'glasses' to avoid the possibility of broken glass in this area. They also have a decent sized function room for hire. There is plenty of car parking but at busy times on warm days even that can get full. You don't book, you just turn up and wait for a free table.

There also seems to be a lot of stuff going on, with everything from a Halloween party to Greek and Italian themed weeks advertised on their website, although every time I've visited it's been nicely quiet; calm and relaxed without being devoid of atmosphere. It seems to liven up as it gets later, though, and I get the impression that this is a popular pub with locals of a Friday and Saturday night.

I loved my calzoni and my meat feasting friends didn't have a bad thing to say about the main steaks that were soon deposited in their grateful bellies. Now I'm starting to resemble Mr Blobby from my food fest binge-athon so I declined the lure of pudding but hell did they look good. As for the service, no complaints here.
