Meatballs both came out flat cold and still frozen in the middle. Then went to pay and the girl behind the till was disgusting! Had a disgusting attitude very rude. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Morley's best kept secret!…read more A lovely family run Italian restaurant tucked down an alley way just off the main precinct. We were greeted with a warm welcome and all the staff were so friendly. The food was excellent - I always judge a good Italian on their meatballs and they were delicious as was the lobster ravioli that I had for my main course. The portions were of a good size but impossible not to finish. The real fun started after the plates were cleared away. We were treated to shots of sambuca and limoncello whilst the waiter handed out the song sheets. Well lubricated from the shots we all joined in to a rendition of 'That's Amore'. The waiters, kitchen staff and management then all hit the dance floor along with the majority of the guests for a good boogie. Before I knew it is was dancing the Macarena with the chef, as the bottle of limoncello got passed around for the third time. It's safe to say that we danced off most of our calories from the dinner and had a wonderful night. These old school, family run places are few and far between these days, so I would highly recommend Sambuca's for a full night of dining and entertainment.

Luigi's - Impressive menu and portions

By far one of the top Italian restaurants i've visited, anywhere, USA or UK, outstanding in every…read morerespect. Looking back to the 80's, Luigi's used to be a popular pub, its in a great location at a major intersection with plenty of parking. The full bar is still present but the place has had a complete overhaul. Upon entry you are greeted by one of the many friendly staff that work there, we had reservations and were shown to our table right away, even though we were a good 30 minutes early. We got drinks whilst we waited for some of our party that were late arriving, the wait staff were completely unfazed by this and had no problem waiting, which was nice. We ordered a multitude of things and let me say there were no complaints from any of our party. I had the garlic pizza bread as an app (you'll have to share with the whole table as its very filling!) which was fantastic, they have a wonderful pizza selection and each one that we ordered was absolutely perfect, great crust baked just right and the sauce bold and robust, the calzones come with a side of dipping sauce was a beautiful mild tomato sauce that had a hint of cream, i recommend asking for a side of this for your garlic cheese pizza bread, yummy. The chicken, seafood and pasta dishes were unbelievable, cooked to order and severed piping hot, and cooked to a standard you'd expect in a city center bistro, high standards here for sure. The amount of specials available, in addition to the substantial menu made choosing what to have a real chore, but that's not a bad problem to have i think, especially when you consider everything we ordered was so damn good. Attentive and friendly staff, incredible food along with very reasonable pricing will make sure this place will be buzzing at the weekends, i'm going to go out on a limb here and say you will certainly need a reservation over the weekend to ensure you get a table. We were there on a normal mid week night and the place 90% full, a wonderful testament to a truly great spot, so if your looking for a hearty, authentic Italian dish, go here!

Just had lunch with a colleague from Vancouver a city that has the best eating places in the world…read moreso was interested in his views as well as my own. Service was excellant and attentive , the food was freshly made and cooked in house. The taste of my haddock was great, the batter outstanding, the hand cooked chips just as they should be fluffy on the inside, brown and not too crisp on the outside, obviously blanched, part fried andthen deep fried to order, the tartare sauce home made and excellant. My colleague` s steak and ale pie was full of trimmed pieces of meat with a lovely light pastry. What a surprise great foof service and sensible prices , I will return and so will he next time he is over from Vancouver ... and that is some accolade Try it !

The menu features typical pub grub of the bangers and mash and pie and chips ilk, with few concessions to gastropub trends aside from the odd dash of goat's cheese here and there, and they run special menus for things like Valentine's Day and Burns' Night, which is a nice touch. There also seems to be a lot of stuff going on, with everything from a Halloween party to Greek and Italian themed weeks advertised on their website, although every time I've visited it's been nicely quiet; calm and relaxed without being devoid of atmosphere. It seems to liven up as it gets later, though, and I get the impression that this is a popular pub with locals of a Friday and Saturday night.

This is one of my favourite places to visit with friends due to the light atmosphere and wide choice of dishes available. For anybody who may be a little shy to try a forgeign cuisine, English options are available. I ordered the Sirloin Steak which was, as always, cooked to perfection with just the right amount of caramelised onions. Prices are reasonable for a restaurant, around £18 for a steak dish. Quality is always present at Brio and staff have always had a 'can do' attitude.

Brio Pizza, probably the restaurant in Leeds that I have frequented more than any other! And why,…read morebecause its so bluddy reliably tasty and watching the staff turn tables with ease makes you feel like you have walked into the light and been transported to Italy. Leeds is tough competition when it comes to Italian food and over my time in leeds I've been around most of them and decided Brio is the one for me. Its in the name and pizza really is a specialty you wont find better thin an crispy as they should be with a full range of toppings to choose from, and classic combinations at that. The Gargantua comes highly recomended a meaty feat! Pasta always perfectly cooked and delicious fancy something fishy go for the linguine alle vongole, (long flat pasta with clams garlic chilli and the like) a real classic dish. There is always a range of seasonal specials be it lobster season or something else, check them out while you wait to be seated. Brio is a great place for a speedy lunch or a hassle free dinner when you need to get your drink on. Some of the best coffee in Leeds, so dont miss out on that espresso to help you get over the post feast slump! Salute! or Gezuar!

Reet, now I know I have written a review for here before, but after a visit tonight with the wife…read moreagain, I felt like I had to come back on here and give it another review. I wasn't sure how I could beat my last trip there, or the 5000 trips before it, but tonight has been a blast... Let me paint you a picture (with my words of course).. As its my other half's birthday tomorrow, a few days ago I got a special offer through the post for a huge 25% off our bill, and a free bottle of house wine, clearly to encourage me to spend the her birthday there and reward me for my previous custom - but as its one of our favorite restaurants - lets just say we don't need much convincing! So we pulled up at about 5pm on a gorgeous Friday evening (tonight!) only to see the car park packed and wondered would we get seated - we goes in, and bless the girls that seated us, actually thought about where we were going to be sitting, and popped us on a table away from the other families in there with children (not that I have anything against kids at all!), but she recognized we were a couple having a meal together - so thoughtful and showed she thought about it! We sat on a table that wasn't on top of other ones and got down to ordering our food - oh and getting our complimentary bottle of wine - deeeelish!! Hmmmm, droool, the food... Chicken livers for the wife and duck spring rolls for me to start - crispy rolls, filled with duck and on an amazing sweet chilli sauce, she had livers that were meaty, cooked to perfection and almost melt in the mouth - in fact I am drooling AGAIN thinking about it now! Mains were fishcake for me, and slow roasted lamb with some ribboned pasta that has a name but I cant remember or spell it - anyway it was GAWGUS - meaty lamb, no fat, pasta cooked to perfection - oh my word I could go on but wont... Cos I will end up soaking the laptop... Service wise, very attentive, talking to us whilst taking our order but certainly not intrusive at all, knew there was a birthday when I had handed over the voucher for the free wine - I'll do anything for a free wine! - and took a real interest, asking whose birthday it was and wishing her a good un! I though this in itself was lovely but imagine my surprise when at the end of the meal the staff brought out an ice cream with a giant sparkler in it and sang Happy Birthday for her - aw it was a lovely touch and to be honest really made our night... I love this place and although people find it slightly more expensive, I don't, and I'm certainly not one to spend money without thinking about it. Its a complete you get more than what you pay for place, and for an evening meal like this I would have paid double - definitely a place to go!

All I can say is next time you are in Rothwell look out for Salute and pay them a visit I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.
