last Friday, I had the pleasure of taking my car in for an inspection. Much to chagrin I was told…read morethat I needed to replace the windshield, wipers, and that emergency needed repair. I was told that if I did the repairs highlighted on the receipt to bring the car back, they would do a reinspection that would take 15 minutes. I made an appointment took the car to them. 15 minutes in. I was told I needed new brakes and rotors. The manager Kyle showed me in the shop the rear brakes. I asked if we just put the pads on with the pass at first he said no then he said for $100 they would do the pads and that the car would pass. I told him to give me back my car and I would take it somewhere else. So to add insult to injury, I was charged an additional $10.

After a careful analysis, the young man returned and handed me an estimate for $2139.90! I took my car to Scott's Aluminum in Columbiaville (Route 9), NY, less than 10 miles from Van Allen and the gentlemen there did more work than was on the Van Allen estimate for $500.00! The staff is really friendly and I think I only came by here two or three times before they knew me by name. The shelves are always fully stocked, and they even make sure to stock ALL of the flavors of ice cream--even in winter (I'm looking at you, Fireworks). They're always having sale specials (though I only notice the ice cream ones) The bathrooms and seating areas both inside and outside are clean--you'll never sit down to a table with old ice cream on it. They've got free air for your bike if you want it, and once a staff member even helped me fill up my tires. Go Stewart's!

Our server seemed very annoyed that she had to make two simple bowls of ice cream for my children. To add insult to injury, she didn't say thank you and only told me my total, gave me my change and said "next" to the only other guy behind me in line. The condition of the store was not up to par either. My wife left with. Stain on her jeans from something on the edge of the table we sat at which out of all of them seemed "the cleanest" considering all of them needed to be wiped down and this one had the least amount of smudges on the table top. Shame on you Stewart's for allowing such poor customer service and facility cleanliness at this location. I have come to expect so much more from your stores and unfortunately this location really let me down. At least the ice cream hasn't changed...
