I have been wearing a suit to work every day for my whole career which has led me to use numerous…read moredry cleaning services and I can honestly say that The Cleanist has been far and away the worst of them all. I have been in the Court Street location multiple times when disputes over ruined clothing have occurred with numerous customers. They are always handled with very little professionalism from the manager, typically blaming the customer for either being wrong about the state of their clothing prior to dropping it off or claiming that it is not the company's fault. My clothing has constantly been returned in sub par condition with new stains, discolored suit interiors, double creases in my suit pants, etc. If you stop by to inquire as to why your clothing is in poor condition, they cannot agree to re-clean the garment without manager approval...which means you have to leave your own job at a time that is convenient for the manager of The Cleanist to discuss how they messed up your belongings. Anyone who is required to wear professional clothing to work understands how expensive it is and how important it is to make your suits/dress shirts/etc last as long as possible. Bringing these items to The Cleanist is a completely counterproductive exercise that will only frustrate you and force you to spend more money to either re-clean or replace your clothing. Avoid it at all costs.

When I came to pick my clothes up and gave her my ticket, she told me that my clothes had already been picked up and barely gave me the time of day. When I told her repeatedly that I hadn't picked up my clothes, she was rude and dismissive. She even tried to suggest that I "didn't remember picking them up" or that "somebody else picked them up and that I should figure it out." At that point, I refused to leave without answers and kept urging her to use other methods to figure out where my clothes were instead of just scanning my ticket and shrugging. Finally after essentially begging her, she agreed to find my clothes, and what do ya know, she found them. Instead of apologizing, she started blaming the person who was working the day I dropped off my clothes. When I informed her that that person was her, she told me it wasn't. I was a customer here for over 10 years, but recently I started going elsewhere. I don't feel comfortable going to a dry cleaner where losing customer's clothing and blaming them for it is the norm.

Just…read morepicked it up and they shrunk it.  Fabric is bunched up; it is terrible. They ruined it. 12/24 Update: Called store the next day and got the owner's email address and contacted her. She wanted to see comforter in case it was fixable. I explained that the comforter had felted and was not fixable. (Untreated wool is fluffy; but when those fluffy fibers are subjected to hot water and friction, those fibers lock together and become felt. Once felted, you can cut the material and there is a clean edge. It is not reversable.) Owner asked me to bring in comforter. Update: 2/23 I finally brought comforter in and owner agreed that it was not fixable and she wrote me a check on the spot for what I paid for a new one. I rated 4 stars because although they ruined my comforter, they paid for their mistake. I really appreciated that and would totally give them another chance.
