Went there because we saw an ad on Instagram about transparency and better pricing. Ended up being the complete opposite. They wouldn't give me pricing over the phone and ended up charging $300 for something that didn't fix our A/C issue even though they quoted us an absurd price for the actual issue which we declined. It felt very tricky and fishy. I have the same vehicle with sportier brakes and have taken it to a higher end shop that actually quoted me hundreds less for brakes and rotors. So not only did I feel like I got scammed, but left with the same issue for one of the things I wanted fixed and got charged for nothing. Unfortunately I will not be going back. Might I add we were also told our water pump was leaking and it was confirmed by another shop right after that it is indeed NOT LEAKING. read more

I came in for a diagnostic complete inspection for my very old worn out 2014 Nissan Altima. I called in & explained the day before my issues to a gentleman named Ernie & he said come on in. I received the inspection service I requested got started right away & a couple of hours later I got a text list of repairs needed. The prices are very reasonable. It listed what was needed by most important down to the minor things I can possible wait on so I can decide my budget. Ernie kindly went over the list to explain in plain English to me what the issues were and how they affect the car. The workers have friendly faces and demeanors. Oh & the waiting room is clean & accommodating to people that may need to work while waiting. Coffee, tea & water is available with free WiFi & a tv with Netflix & such to watch. Dont tell them you need it in a rush will bend you over a barrel. Told me originally it would be tops 700 then called me an hour and half later on my only day off they wanted 1050$ Just to change my two battery's. Had i had more time I would have went somewhere else. I spoke to the gentleman who referred me there and he was disappointed at what they did for me. Oh well. They got job done but definitely would not go back when someone tells me a price and maximum it can be I don't expect them to come back at 40% higher an hour and half later. Not because I don't care about my vehicles but because in my experience the people working on them aren't the friendliest, short and the experience is very transactional. At Lucky's it was completely different. Not only did this crew do an incredible job taking care of my cars needs (oil change, tire rotation, brakes) , they also were also some of the kindest group of guys I've ever met. I started off trying to ask Midas on yelp if they service my car for an alignment. Midas was recommended by a friend. Dealer wanted to charge me $400. Yelp ended up creating a project and this was the first company that got back to me. I had more than 10 businesses respond and vetted all the businesses that were within the area I wanted. There were 3 other businesses within walking distance from this place that offered half the price. This place described the tools they had while the other did not give good info. Upon arrival, they were quick to attend and very friendly, even the mechanics were friendly. The place is well taken care of. There is a waiting room with amenities. I kind of regret the amenities as I had to go to the restroom a lot but they had a clean restroom. That waiting room was actually relaxing. So, a few observations. I saw a 100k+ Audi being serviced and a classic car being serviced. It made me feel better about my decisions. I walked down the street to check out the other businesses that replied and they looked like hole in the wall locations except for one of the places, it looked ok. I wouldn't have trusted them to take care care of my car and would have had anxiety the whole time. I noticed that they took care of my and took there time and test drove the car. I noticed a huge difference after. The ride was smoother and more stable. I got my alignment because I installed new tires the day before and the old tires were unevenly worn out within 12k miles. I would recommend this place. An alignment is not a small task and many things can go wrong if not done properly. There are a lot of shady mechanics that take shortcuts so that is why I chose this place. Sometimes if a price seems too good, don't risk it. I have been a mechanic for more than 25 years so I have seen the shortcuts I had to repair. Pricing is fair at this place. read more

Wow - the service here is fantastic. I brought in my Porsche Macan for an oil service. They sent me an inspection to my phone with pictures of everything they found. It was so easy. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Our truck broke down while driving and this place was the closest place for AAA to tow it to on a Friday evening. Had to leave the truck overnight there so they can run diagnostic the next morning. The next morning they quoted us for $2300k+ which I thought was very excessive so I called and immediately they wanted to give $500 off for no reason which made me even more skeptical. They wanted to replace a bunch of things that my truck really didn't need so I got another quote from a mobile mechanic which quoted me for $400 including parts and labor. Lucky's Auto Care charged me $206 just for parking the truck overnight and for running a diagnostics test which I feel is very excessive for absolutely nothing. $206 for parking and plugging in a machine. I went with the mobile mechanic instead and my truck is now up and running and it only took the mobile mechanic 2 hrs from start to finish. So Lucky's Auto Care was trying to charge $2300+ for a $400 job. DON'T COME HERE, THEY WILL TRY TO RIP YOU OFF!!! read more

My experience here was alright but the business is a business and they need to make their money. My spouse came here from finding google reviews. They did a thorough diagnostic which he was pleased with . We got a list of what all needed fixed. I contacted my family mechanic which is always a better deal and wanted him to take a look at the findings. We also took it to auto zone twice and ran the codes before and after taking it to this place. My beater car has two catalytic converters a front and a back one. Ran codes on it and the code showed that we only need the front one. I'm overall pretty glad we didn't get the work done here because I was quoted to get both the front and the back catalytic converters replaced which actually wasn't needed along with the o2 sensor which also wasn't needed. I got quoted for that alone $4,700! My family mechanic will be the one fixing my car instead for $2860 with labor which is pretty good considering he's also had his shop running for over 40 years in Anaheim . I'm sure this place is good and they have to make their money; but I would have appreciated a more honest quote to only get done what was necessary and not anything extra. If they give me an honest diagnostic next time I will try working with them. Thanks anyway! read more

So I had to take my car to get a smog check. Calling to make an appointment was easy, when I pulled in someone came out to greet me. There's one building where you go to check in and do all your paperwork (very clean, hand sanitizer everywhere) and then you're directed to another building across the way to wait. Since it's during Covid I was the only person waiting and here's my favorite ....they have snacks and wifi!!! Very professional group of people, quick service. There's a discount for AAA members however the pricing still came out to be the same as this other place that I use to go to in Manhattan Beach that's closer to my house. So I don't know if this means without the discount this place is more expensive or if both places just give you the discount (I never had to use my AAA at the other place in MB so I guess we'll never know.)
