I desired to have a beer while I watched the Dodgers game so I came down from my room to the Lucky 13. I walked in at the top of the 4th inning, about the same time as the gentleman in the LA hat. He and his party have been served and is enjoying their food. It's been 36 minutes. The game is now in top of the 7th. No one has offered to take my order or even ask if I need a menu. They didn't have cocktail sauce...I asked for lemon and was given to thin slices. Husband got a full rack of ribs. No way this was a full rack and a large portion was very touch. A group of 11 of us stopped into Lucky's for dinner and drinks. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Credit cards are an accepted form of payment. Large parties can easily be accommodated. Lucky's offers an extensive list of hard alcohol as well as beer. Happy Hour is offered Monday-Thursday from 4:30pm-6:00pm. Complimentary popcorn is placed on the table to nibble on while viewing the menu. My wife had a couple double Jameson and Coke's for $10 each and I had a couple glasses of house chardonnay for $5 each. For our meal we shared the Lucky's Mac & Cheese for $13: cheesy pasta, broccoli and bacon. We chose the salad as our side; spring mix, shredded carrots and croutons. Very good service. I always like a server who can give and take a joke. I asked her if the Canadian Walleye passed its COVID19 test and she said of course. When you come here be ready to eat or take some home. All of the portions are good sized. All of the food was cooked perfect and to order. It was served hot and all of each course came out at the same time. If you are inthe area, this is a great place to eat. read more

We received absolutely horrid service from Lucky 13! It was so terrible that I am pressed to share. We arrived at 7pm on a Saturday evening. The hostess said, "We have tables but our kitchen is behind. It's going to be over an hour before we can seat you in our dining room." We found it odd because the dining room was practically empty, but we had the host wrote our name and number down and she promised to give us a call within an hour to seat us. An hour and a half later, we hadn't heard from the restaurant so we headed back. When we entered the restaurant the host's face dropped. She insisted that they tried to contact us several times.. we never received a call or text. She said, "Well we can seat you in the bar area I guess. Go find a table." The bar area was mostly full and every table was filthy and full of dishes. After letting us parade around the bar area looking foolish, the host rolled her eyes and seated us in the dining room (which was completely EMPTY besides one family). We watched the host form a little huddle with a few staff members while they looked at our table. It was incredibly rude. A waiter finally came up to us and asked for our drink orders. Ten minutes goes by and the waiter returns to tell us that the bar is behind, so he was going to get us waters. TEN MORE MINUTES and no waters.. no drinks. What the hell were these staff members doing? The restaurant was only at about 30% capacity and there were at least 7 staff members present that I saw. We got up and left without even being brought a water- perhaps it was too much of a hassle. The host gave us the cold shoulder as we left and our waiter just nodded at us without saying a word. It was uncomfortable and undeniably the worst service I have ever received. A customer should never feel like an inconvenience. read more

When I'm on vacation before the night is over I look for the nearest pub, not for the food but for the beer. We are still in the COVID-19 pandemic but they allow dine in. All the employees were wearing masks. They offer beer on tap and the prices are low which is an added plus and the place was very busy. read more

Our first clue should have been it's part of a hotel chain. Second clue was when we walked in and the waitress walked past twice without saying anything. She finally made it over, told us to pick our seat and she would follow us over with some menus. I went to the restroom and still no menus when I returned. I told the hubs we'd give her about 5 minutes. She had disappeared somewhere, came back and went over to 2 other tables, refreshing their drinks and still had not swung by. I'm sure the food would have been just as pleasant as the lack of service. These are the people that think they deserve $20+ per hour. read more

My room wasn't ready at the Holiday Inn where Lucky's is located so I decided to have a cold beer and lunch while I waited for my room. The bar/grill is nice, comfortable and roomy with tv's placed in several locations for viewing sports. I sat at the bar but the dining area wasn't very busy. I ordered a beer and the lunch portion of meatloaf with a side of vegetables. The meatloaf was very good and it smothered with some tasty gravy. The vegetables were steamed and cooked just right and the beer was cold. It was a good lunch with good service, decent prices and a comfortable setting. Next time I am stopping in Spearfish I will try Lucky's for the dinner portion. read more

My husband and I came in for dinner and drinks.Shea was our server at the bar. I asked him if he ever heard of a New York sour. He said no, but I'm always open to get a new drink going. We looked it up and he made it and it was fantastic. My husband and I both had the grilled cheese sandwich that had guacamole and tomatoes on it. It was delicious. What here for my son's 18th birthday dinner. Been here before was decent... Not this time. Waitress came right away got orders in. Didn't see her again for about forty five minutes. No drink refills has to ask for this when the food started to show up. Till ten minutes to get everyone served. Food was a mix of decent and terrible. The walleye sandwiches were one of worst things I've ever ordered. Undercooked cold flavorless. Waitress never checked on quality of food or came back after until we got up to go look for the check. I wish I could give more stars BUT the service was horrid! The waiter was nice but he just couldn't handle his few tables. The food was very good, minus the cheesy smashed potatoes which were extremely salty. Our total bill for 2 children, 3 adults and a bottle of wine was around $76 our son has chicken strips and fries. Shortly after the food came out he asked my son and older daughter if they would like refills on their Sprite but they never received them but he has time to stand around to talk with other staff. My middle child's meal was fine. The older child asked for her side salad to be without dressing and it was drenched. Her cheesy smashed potatoes were very salty! My husband and I both had a "Dine O Mite" salad and it was very good and filling. I'd lived in Spearfish for over 8 years and we've been here plenty of times. Food used to be so good and the service used to be great, but the past few years it's gone downhill. Came back for a wedding and stayed in the hotel, so we decided to try for dinner. We were seated and waited for over ten minutes and no one acknowledged us. Plenty of servers walking around and one came to pick up a closed out check and her tips off the table and walked away. The bartender was close and came to the side of the bar closest to us and still didn't ask a server to get our drink order so we got up and walked out. Save your money and your time -do not go here. My boyfriend ordered the 12 oz "hand cut" ribeye and it came out looking about like 8-9 oz, had no flavor, and definitely came from a package, not hand cut. DEFINITELY not worth $30. I ordered the "hand-pattied" mushroom and Swiss burger and was extremely disappointed. The gym was dry, the patty was pre-made and frozen, and the cheese was cold. Definitely not the juicy melty burger I was craving and definitely was not worth $13. Dairy Queen makes a better mushroom and Swiss. Even the sodas were overpriced at $3. The only reason I'm giving two stars rather than one is because the waitress gave us a discount for the steak and was very nice about it. read more

Great selection of burgers and microbrew. Our burgers were cooked perfectly to order and tasted great. Beer was cold and tasty. Service was spot on. Price was moderate. Portions were huge, I eat large portions all of the time and this meal filled me up ! My friends couldn't finish theirs. We'll go back again! Update. As of yesterday, 4/10/22, happy hour no longer includes all beer on tap, only domestics. That is fine, BUT when the menu still states ALL beers on tap for happy hour, you need to honor that as an establishment. Today, 4/11/22, our party of 4 that usually meets for $10 burgers and half off tap beers on Mondays for the past year had the most disrespectful manager argue with us over a bill. When asked to make it right, she was extremely defensive and ended up comping one of the tickets but told our party to leave. She handled the whole encounter wrong from the moment she walked up to the table, taking everything personally and was out of line, unprofessional and very rude. All we were asking was to honor the menu and she turned it into this huge ordeal. Knowing all beers weren't going to be included any longer had us questioning whether we would be back, but after this encounter we will not and recommend this "manager" get some customer service training ASAP. Not bad for a hotel restaurant. As gueats, our kids ate free which was helpful. Breakfast is large portions off the adult menu. Charging $2.50 for coffee that I could have had for free by walking to the hotel coffee service was a bit much for me. All in all, decent food and convenient. read more

Where to begin with things that went wrong.........when seated, we asked to be seated somewhere that was warm. We were sat at a booth with a window that had a considerable draft and to make matters worse the table was dirty. (There were only 2 other occupied tables in the entire restaurant at this time.) Our waitress came took our drink order and promptly brought our sodas to the table. As we had not decided on what to order, we asked for another minute. What a mistake this was! Our waitress didn't return for well over 10 minutes. Nearly the entire time we watched her (through the window in the door to the kitchen) play with her hair while visiting with other employees. When she finally came back to our table, we placed our order which included an appetizer (jumbo pretzel). Approximately 15 minutes passed, when the waitress returned with my side salad, I asked if our appetizer would be coming out before our meal and she confirmed that it would be. A few minutes later the pretzel came out but was frozen the the middle. We immediately sent the pretzel back as it was inedible. Our food can out immediately after this. Our meals were not bad but not good either. Throughout all of the waiting we had done, my daughter sat with an empty soda glass that was not refilled until I stopped the waitress and asked for a refill. After dropping off our meals, our waitress never returned to our table. If I could have gave this review 0 stars, it would have been more fitting. As a side note, we ate here last night, and both the food and service were amazing. Unfortunately today's visit was nothing short of horrible! read more

Some of the best hamburgers in town. My fave is the frickle burger, it's probably going to clog my arteries but dang it is GOOD. Everything I've had here is awesome, except for the Mac n cheese which is just ok, and one of the burgers - I forget the name - but it had giant globs of peppadew peppers which were kind of overkill. Their nachos are pretty awesome too, but towards the bottom they're all crushed. But honestly overall, I've always been happy here and gone home full. And the waiters are always really nice and I've never had problems which them being slow. Definitely worth your time! read more
